HI ladies--
I finally have a moment--
Gwen has a slight cold from dd2, dsalmost5, and ds 7, who don't always know how to direct their sneezes, but she is still able to nurse pretty well as long as she doesn't get too agitated. Her belly button thing hasn't fallen off yet and it's stinky, which has never happened to me before. Dh and I decided to put alchohol on it and when I called the advice nurse this morning, she said that was the right thing to do and to call again if it gets red and infected looking (it's not--hurray!)
I overdid it this weekend and started bleeding more, so I'm being really lazy today. I have lots of meals from people at church and bible study, so I don't have to cook for at least a week. I'm eating clean, so I'm eating other stuff, but at least the family has food and I don't have to prepare it
.
My feet and calves look positively dainty to me and I've spent the morning admiring all their contours. (I know I'm wierd, but it's so nice to have the swelling almost gone--I still have a little at the end of the day). I was able to sleep without the fan on them last night, because they did not feel hot. When I weigh at 2 weeks post partum, I'll be interested to see how much of the weight was water. Oh and I know how much I gained because they put my weight in kilograms on one of the papers I was sent home with. I know how to convert kilograms to pounds--in my head too! Grrrrrrr.....anyway, I'm bummed but not really surprised
.
++++++
Jen--I know you feel lousy and workouts are hard. I was feeling at the end like, "Was I really a fairly fit woman at one time? or was it in my imagination?", but I already feel like a new woman, just 6 days pp. It will take a while to get back in the swing of things, but not that long. I'm sure you are more prepared for school than you think--i'ts just those pregancy hormones making you panic I'm sure.
Mikki--I hate pregnancy. I just do. I love having the kids, but I've never enjoyed being pregnant. My mother (who died before my oldest was born) always said she LOVED being pregnant--I just can't relate....Enjoy the maternity clothes
("Thank you for the pregnancy pants. Never have I known such comfort"--the Simpson's Movie)
Jenm--I missed tons of church during the first and early part of the second trimester. don't worry--it will still be there when you are feeling better. Is the hurricane pretty much over now?
Kate--good to hear from you. I demand you eat some dessert!!
You are gonna love gaining so little after the baby comes, let me tell ya, cuz I got my work cut out for me. I had my fun and now comes the hard part--I'm paying for it
.
Candra--are you feeling better about your boys being in school? Everyone adjusting to the new schedule?
Kristan--Those workouts look pretty good to me. It's going to be a while before I can do any of that, though. I hope you get back in the swing of things, regarding work and all.
Stephanie--bronchitis
--miserable enough, but while pregnant? I can't imagine. Your dh sounds like mine--very helpful mixed with occasional stubborness
. Enjoy your nesting! You'll love the results.

take care all
