Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to school I go. I just wanted to start us off. The cold is still with me, and DS woke up once with the runs:(. I will be back tonight to check-in and read posts.

Kate-I can't wait to hear from you! Did DD start school?

Mikkia-Good luck getting your kids off to school today too!

Happy Monday;).
-Jen
p.s. No 4:30am exercise for me today. I slept like a log (except with DS woke me about pooping in his pull-up:confused:).

Good morning everyone. Hope you all had a nice weekend!

Jen, sorry about your son and his not feeling well. Hope he (and you) get well soon!

Maggie, how are things going with Gwen? hope you are both getting rest and enjoying each other.

Kate hope you had a nice weekend - everyone missed you this weekend!

The boards were quiet this weekend and I didnt visit much myself.
At work now tho ... I may be purchasing a graco pack n play this week from someone selling it. She said its in like new condition and the best thing you can get for baby. Does anyone else have one of these? I wanted a playpen and this a nice green color (my favorite) and has a bassinet, diaper changer, mobile, play pen etc. One of those combo deals. We also registered for a small bassinett that could fit in our bedroom but im not sure that'll be necessary now. Its just that the pack n play bassinetts dont look all that comfy. But then again i'm not a baby, so what do i know :) just looking for thoughts from the experts! :)

I hope you all have a great morning -

Jen

Hello Ladies! I missed you all! I don't have much time this AM but I sinceerely appreciate all of your thoughts and concern. We ended up going away for a long weekend and time totally got away from me as we were getting ready to go. Before I knew it we were out the door. I did bring my laptop but we didn't have good reception for my air card. So Julia and I are healthy as can be. In fact I got lots of good LONG walks in. Eating was okay (as well as it can be while you're away!).

I go to the midwife today so I weighed myself. I've only gained a half pound in the last 4 weeks. Maybe they're on to something.... I'll see what they think of my food journal.

We have a super busy day and dinner will be out for me and MIke - midwife appt right before our last childbirth class. Looking forward to a nice evening out together.

JenP - Good luck at school today! Yuck to the poop!!! School starts next week on Tues. I've got my baby for 1 more week! Preschool starts the week after that.

JenM - We never had a PNP. I'm sure you'll get some responses tho! Hope you have a good day at work today!

MAGGIE!!!! What a beautiful baby, beautiful family, beautiful YOU! You do not look like you gained 70 pounds! My face woulda been ENORMOUS!! I love love the belly pic! Her name is absolutely beautiful - I love it. I hope all is going well. And best of luck to your school year!

I'll be back in a while!

Kate, welcome back. where did you go? Hope you had a nice time :)

You are lucky you are only gaining 1/2 a pound. I had no weight gain at all the first trimester. Now all of a sudden the scale is moving up. Its so hard for me to dealw ith - i know its normal and necessary but i've always been weird about my weight. Now that i have an apetite, I eat more and i'm eating things i never used to touch - such as more bread and other not so healthy foods. I try to be healthy but i end up snacking or getting hungry. I dont know if the weight gain is from that or being pregnant or both> the thought of hearing 30 plus pounds to gain is scary for me, but probably necessary. Of course I will do whatever is necessary for a healthy baby but it is just so hard. Plus the pants are getting tigheer and i think my posterior is getting larger :( I had a meltdown yesterday over it. I have been working out pretty good tho - I did Amy Bento's HI/Lo Dome even tho i didnt feel like working out. It was a good hour of hi/lo cardio.

Tonite and tomorrow i'm alone so i'll probably force two more workouts in then as well.

Sorry to go on about weight gain, but i know you guys will understsand. Plus you are fitness people as well so you'd understand better than someone else. Thanks for listening :)

Hello to everyone to follow!

Good Morning!

Jen, have fun on your first day back! I hope ds is feeling better today. Did you end up taking him to daycare?

JenM, I never had a pack and play, but I am getting one this time around. I am going to put it downstairs for naps and diaper changes. My friend keeps hers next to her bed and that is where her baby sleeps. They don't usually sleep in the bassinet part, that is mostly for changing.

Kate, I have a doctor's appt today too. I am pretty sure I have gained more than half a pound:D I am definitely starting to retain water. If it would ever get below 100 degrees here I might stop swelling.

I got my workout in! I did PH. Now I have to get the boys ready for school and then off to the doctor and grocery store.

Candra

Hi. Girls are off the their first day of school and Gus is at preschool. Have an entire morning of just me and mimi. I am starting to work from home this week, so must be disciplined. TOday is my official mark of: get Mimi to sleep in crib, start work, kids to school, start eating better and work out with purpose and intensity.

Vacation last week was great; even got in 3 workouts:

gym/run/legs- one hour
gym/legs- one hour
Boot Camp from 4ds circuit with arms

Hi ladies,
Kate--Glad to see you back!! Hope you had a great long weekend! Where did you go? I'd definitely ask about the 1/2 pound. It just could be that your body is losing weight, but baby is growing normally. I've heard of that happening. Wish it would happen for me!! :p

Jen--I bought a Graco pack n play to use for a bassinet and later for a play pin. Haven't gotten it out of the box yet, though. Hope you like yours!

Jen1-Have fun at school! Glad that you slept so well! I'm so sorry about your DS. Hope his runs go away soon. Did he eat something that could have upset him, or do you think it's a bug? My boys always got the runs when they cut a new tooth. Could that be it? (I'm not sure what age your DS is.)

Kristen--Glad you had a fun vacation! Enjoy your day with Mimi!

Candra--Good luck at the doctor! Congrats on your workout!

Well, I am SO TIRED this morning. Henry caught DH's cold, and he was up coughing all night. I finally got him settled with some Delsym at about 3 a.m. DH refuses to go to the doc even though he's had this bad cough for over a week. I told him I bet it's bronchitis. I'll be SOOOO mad if he gives me bronchitis! This weekend I cleaned out two closets and DH totally did whatever I asked him to, so I can't get too frustrated with him. He cleaned bathrooms, washed the dog, helped with the closets, bought me closet organizers. Only two more closets on my list to clean out!! I'm in MEGA-NESTING mode. I cleaned out my photo drawer this morning and am doing laundry. All of the baby clothes are clean, but I still have to fold a basket and put them up. I told DH last night that I don't know if I'll make it to October. I've been getting some pretty painful BH at night, and I'm nesting like I did right before my other boys were born. Hoping he waits at least a few more weeks, though!!

Hope everyone has a great day at work and play!! :)

JenM/Steph - We went up north in a camper (boooo!) to a church retreat (yay!). We all really needed it!:)

JenM - We more than understand your weight woes!:D While part of me is worries I'm not really gaining weight, the other part of me is totally relieved I'll have that much less to lose! I'll be anxious to see if I'm measuring any bigger this month. DH says I don't look any bigger - LIAR!:D;)

Candra, Sorry for the heat! That is not easy on our already swelling bodies! It was super hot up north this weekend. My ring was tight and I was NOT pleased! Everyone kept asking me if I was about to deliver! NOt yet, thanks! Hope your appt goes well - mine's not til 6PM, then class from 7-9. so I'll check on you when I get back!;) ^5 on PH - I love that one.

Kristan, Was it sad getting everybody off?! I'm dreading Gina's first day next week.:( I'll keep it together til th ebus pulls away then its Niagra Falls baby! I bet its super quiet at your house today! Good plan for the coming days for you!

Stephanie, Sorry so tired! But with all your getting done - no wonder! Super nesting is right! Go easy on yourself!:)

-------
Getting ready to get DDs to nap. I hope I don't fall asleep -I sleep so much better at night if I haven't napped. Wish I could nap though.... we'll see.

No workout today - rest day after our busy weekend and I just plain have so much house stufff to do I don't know how I'd fit it in anyway. bbl.....

HI ladies--

I finally have a moment--

Gwen has a slight cold from dd2, dsalmost5, and ds 7, who don't always know how to direct their sneezes, but she is still able to nurse pretty well as long as she doesn't get too agitated. Her belly button thing hasn't fallen off yet and it's stinky, which has never happened to me before. Dh and I decided to put alchohol on it and when I called the advice nurse this morning, she said that was the right thing to do and to call again if it gets red and infected looking (it's not--hurray!)

I overdid it this weekend and started bleeding more, so I'm being really lazy today. I have lots of meals from people at church and bible study, so I don't have to cook for at least a week. I'm eating clean, so I'm eating other stuff, but at least the family has food and I don't have to prepare it:D:D:D.

My feet and calves look positively dainty to me and I've spent the morning admiring all their contours. (I know I'm wierd, but it's so nice to have the swelling almost gone--I still have a little at the end of the day). I was able to sleep without the fan on them last night, because they did not feel hot. When I weigh at 2 weeks post partum, I'll be interested to see how much of the weight was water. Oh and I know how much I gained because they put my weight in kilograms on one of the papers I was sent home with. I know how to convert kilograms to pounds--in my head too! Grrrrrrr.....anyway, I'm bummed but not really surprised:(.

++++++
Jen--I know you feel lousy and workouts are hard. I was feeling at the end like, "Was I really a fairly fit woman at one time? or was it in my imagination?", but I already feel like a new woman, just 6 days pp. It will take a while to get back in the swing of things, but not that long. I'm sure you are more prepared for school than you think--i'ts just those pregancy hormones making you panic I'm sure.

Mikki--I hate pregnancy. I just do. I love having the kids, but I've never enjoyed being pregnant. My mother (who died before my oldest was born) always said she LOVED being pregnant--I just can't relate....Enjoy the maternity clothes ("Thank you for the pregnancy pants. Never have I known such comfort"--the Simpson's Movie:p)

Jenm--I missed tons of church during the first and early part of the second trimester. don't worry--it will still be there when you are feeling better. Is the hurricane pretty much over now?

Kate--good to hear from you. I demand you eat some dessert!!;) You are gonna love gaining so little after the baby comes, let me tell ya, cuz I got my work cut out for me. I had my fun and now comes the hard part--I'm paying for it:p:(:D.

Candra--are you feeling better about your boys being in school? Everyone adjusting to the new schedule?

Kristan--Those workouts look pretty good to me. It's going to be a while before I can do any of that, though. I hope you get back in the swing of things, regarding work and all.

Stephanie--bronchitis:mad:--miserable enough, but while pregnant? I can't imagine. Your dh sounds like mine--very helpful mixed with occasional stubborness;). Enjoy your nesting! You'll love the results.

take care all

Maggie:)

Hey girls!
Got all the painting done in Mississippi and had dinner with friends. Haley had fun with her buddy on Saturday too..so we had a nice trip. Classes start for me tonight..its a long class but the teacher is supposed to be really interesting.
I did PP x2 this morning. Still cant do much cardio due to my foot...grrr.
ok, I should be Oing sometime this week. So its sexmax for me this week. Wish me luck!
Kate-welcome back! Betcha werent expeting us to call out the forces to find you!!!! I love camping!!!
Jen-have a great day at school. Hope DS feels better!
Jen2-Hi! I know its easier said than done, but don't worry about the weight. You are very consious of what you eat and workout..youll be fine. I was scared too. I put on right at 30 pounds and lost 20 of it the day dd was born. My dd hated the packnplay. She would NOT sleep in it for some reason.
Kristin-HI..have a great day with Mimi
STep-HI..coughing all night..grrrr. Is that frustrating or what. I know all the organziging makes you feel good! Have fun!
Candra-HI..how did your appt go?
Ok Im off to mop the kitchen floor and get supper ready for dh and dd since I"ll be at class.
bbl

Maggie, Sorry about Gwen's cold - poor sweetie! I bet it makes nursing hard for her! Sounds like she's got soem reserves though!;) Re the bleeding: take it easy! I'm glad so many people have helped you with meals! That's awesome! LOL on the contours of your feet! I remember that with my first pregnancy though. Man, did I get huge! Maybe I'll get some dessert tongiht when we go out to dinner. We're going to McAlister's and their cc cookies always look so good but I've always resisted. Maybe it's time to give in?

Susan, Just think of all the cals you'll burn with the extra, um, cardio this week! And I think mopping the floor counts for some cal burn too! But I know the feeling about missing out on the cardio. Good job on PP though! I was so touched (and so was DH!) at everyone's concern. Katie from the clean & tidy checkin even called. I am very moved by everyone's concern. Very cool! You are a good lady for getting dinner ready for your clan for while you're at school! I hope the class goes well for you.

I drifted off to sleep for about 5 minutes and woke up to do Classical Stretch for an hour. It's so hard to not workout. I'm hoping for total body weights tomorrow - we'll see...;):D

Hi! I am so glad everyone is back, I was beginning to worry!!! My internet provider was on "vacation" this am, so I am finally just getting on.
Kate-glad you had a great time. I guess maybe your body is just not into gaining weight this time around. I am having the same issue. But for me, I am relatively sure that will turn itself around when I am all done with the vomitting!
JenM-I love the pack and play, but I didn't use it except for weekends away, until they were much older. THen I put it in the family room with toys and I could get stuff done for about 20 min before they were bored. Don't worry about the weight gain. It really does come off, I promise.
Maggie-You made me laugh so hard. I am wearing my maternity pants right now for the second time, thinking how comfortable I am!! I hope Gwen start feeling better soon.
Stephanie-I am sorry about the coughing at night, like it isn't hard enough to sleep as it is. Hopefully they all will get better soon!
Jen-So sorry to hear about the "illness" Is he any better this afternoon? I did get dd backto school without issue(well, her at least I still cried).
Candra-I am so sorry to hear about the swelling. I have the same problem when it is 100! My ankles start looking funky!
Susan- How is Haley and school going? How is your ankle? I hope you have plenty of energy for this week!

I did Hardcore Extreme(my version was only moderately extreme:p) yesterday and did the Interval blast section of it too. I really don't like that one and need to remember that. Its got a 10min section of Kickmax at the end that is just too hard now.

Jen~oh poor DS. Having the runs is no fun. : (

Jen#2~pack in plays are great! We use ours mostly if we travel though. It is comfy for them to lay in and if you dn't have a changer they are good for that too. I'd still get a bassinet for your room though. We used our pack n play still for our 2.5 year old when we travel and he sleeps in it great! How far along are you? If you gain 30lbs then once the baby is born I bet you'd have about 5lbs total to lose to be pre pregnancy weight. IF you gain 25 you probaly won't have any to lsoe, but just toning that was lost. It just all comes in spurts sometimes too. One month you might gain5lbs and then only gain 2 the next. Also if you are early on then bloating can cause water rention that will go away and you'll probably see a little bit of a loss. Try not to worry. I know it's hard, but you will get your body back!

Kate~sounds like a perfect weekend away! Glad you are okay and back now! YAY for long walks! Those are the best!

Stephanine~yay for nesting. That is the best part because you can get things done and somehow it all is ready for when hte baby comes.

Maggie~ oh boy I feel for you and the swelling. I only had it bad w/ Hunter because of my pre-e, but I came home weighing more than when I went in and he was a 9lb baby. I was so swollen it hurt to walk because my skin was so tight. I peed nad peed and peed for the first week and by week 2 I had lost like 40lbs.. it was crazy. I never knew I could retain so much fluid. I also did like you are doing. I walked around staring at my ankles because I finally had them again. LOL When is your 2 week check up? Glad to hear she is a great nurser. THat is one less worry! How are the kiddos taking to her?

Susan~whoohoo for sexmax! Sounds like a great plan. Praying this will be the month! I bet it feels great to get the painting done.

Mikka~I have that workout, but haven't done it for a long time. I bet it is getting hard now! Good for you on getting it in though! How far along are you now? I can't keep track w/out tickers!

Well as for me as of a week ago I stopped running. My veins are really bad in my legs and my other area so it was hurting to run. Also down here in LA it's so humid even by 9am it's just nasty humid. I am trying to get used to it. The best news is we have a HUGE AMAZING gym on base that is FREE!! I went yesterday and it was like heaven. I did the elliptical and watched Foxnews for 55 mins. I was SO in a dream world. LOL They don't have childcare though so I have to go at night or on the weekends when DH is home w/ the kiddos. I have been walking every day though. I actually walked 2x today. Did 4.75 this morning. WE actually had a light breeze here and then this afternoon when Hunter got home from school we did 3 miles and since it's about to rain it wasn't so hot which was great. I tend to say the heck w/ it at the end and gain some so I am trying to keep that to a minimum this time. I am holding at 18lbs gained at 31 weeks so I am thrilled. If i can do 1lb a week here on out I'll be at 26 or so lbs.. My first appt here is Sept. 4th so I hope we can set a c/s date then for sometime between 38-39 weeks. Time is just going so fast!!

Thank you everyone
Fitmommy of 2 - i am coming up on 15 weeks along right now. I did not gain in my first trimester but now all of a sudden the scale is creeping up.

I got Amy Bento's ASC 3 and rumble today. I tried out Rumble, it was alright. Not too hard, moderate intensity for the most part. Good for days when you want to workout but not push yourself too hard :)

Thanks for the info on the pack n plays. I'll meet the lady tomorrow to purchase it for more than 50% off.

Oh, i got called by the doc today. They want me in tomorrow asap for MORe blood work. There is something wrong with my thyroid - TSH is low but they dont explain it at all so i'm all worried. They've known since july and already took blood for it twice! So tomorrow i have to go again and get more bloodwork. Dont understand why so much blood for the same issue. They dont explain anything and arent very helpful. Im not fond of doctors and such. This always happens. Some lab person will take my blood and not know anything about what is going on. They want to test for free t3 and t4. they already tsh and total t4. if that means anything??? Anyone else have this problem? Help please..

Hi,
Well, I made it through the first day of 1st grade. There were some unexpected things that happened...the airconditioning was not working in my new classroom, so being in an 80 degree classroom with 20 little bodies was NOT fun:confused:. I have some kids with major ants in their pants, but other than that, it went well. Just please pray that the air is working tomorrow. Tonight DH, DS and I went to the playground then for a short walk on a trail nearby. Tomorrow, I plan to do a Jari Love workout. DS is fine, and he didn't poop at all today:D.

Maggie-I am sorry to hear Gwen has a cold. I am sure she will get over it soon b/c you are breastfeeding, though. Tell me more about what it's like not to have swelling:D. I can't wait till mine is all gone. I don't have it really bad, but it is getting to the point where my skin feels uncomfortable. Does that make sense?

Candra-Your swollen too? Where do you swell the most?

Trish (you're fitmommyof2, right?). You are doing really well with your exercising! I have veins too (in all the great places).

Kate-Welcome back from your weekend getaway! We missed you. How have you been sleeping? Enjoy your last week with DD before school starts. I've been getting all those "nice" comments from co-workers as well.

Stephanie-I hope DH doesn't have bronchitis. I had that at the very beginning of this pregnancy, and it wasn't fun! I was having major nesting episodes about 2 weeks ago, just like you. My c/s is now officially scheduled for Oct. 7th with the doctor who did my first one. So, not the 2nd. Doesn't it feel like you are going to have this baby any minute? I sure feel that way.

Susan-How is your foot? Enjoy sexmax-that's always fun! ;)

Jen M-We have a pnp that we got from a friend. DS liked it, and it was convenient for naps. But, once we was more aware of what was going on, he did not like to be in it. If you can get it for a steal, go for it.

Kristan-Wow-quietness at your house! Did you get your work done today?

I have to run and get some school work finished:confused:. Talk to you tomorrow!
-Jen

Pack N Play

We didn't have a crib or bassinet for Justin, we used a pack-n-play. So that tells you how fond we are of them. :) Ours wasn't too expensive new, around $55 or so, I believe. I"ve used it for 2 kids---heavily---and it's still sturdy & like brand new. I don't think you will disappointed.

Kate, is your mid-wife concerned about your weight gain? You probably need to add some carbs onto your diet----I know, not what you want to hear.

TSH woes is common during pregnancy, I wouldn't worry about it at this point...Jen. You may need to take a supplement. ;)
