Hi everyone!

Shopaholic--glad you are feeling better, because morning sickness sucksx(. I think it is typical to show earlier with the 2nd child. I seem to show earlier everytime:p .

Morris--you posted on the other thread that you were stressed about disapproving looks because you are pregnant. My husband and I have had our fair share of family pressure as well--hang in there and remember that children are a blessing :)

To all of you who have suggested that I get some new clothes--I'm thinking I just might do that. I don't want to feel dowdy for the last few weeks and thru the holidays.

Speaking of holidays, I am dreading them as we are forced to deal with extended family more than usual and it makes the holidays a bit less than pleasant shall we say. Fortunately, there are plenty of traditions that we enjoy as a very happy nuclear family and with church and friends, etc.

My workouts last week--
Mon-60 min bike
Tues-body fusion (I've been "demoted" to a 4" step)
Wed-60 min bike
Thurs-rest
Fri-MM upper body+25 min bike
Sat-MM legs+Low Max 1-6 (on a 4"step)
Sun-extra rest day because I am extra tired for some reason

My heart rate is super high--between 100 and 115, while not exercising. I've taken it about 15 times over the last few days. I called the nurse who said to track it a bit longer and call back if it remains high. I think its always been high during pregnancy, but I've never actually counted before.

Well, I hope you are all doing well:) and look forward to hearing from you.

30 weeks down, 10 to go

Maggie, it is amazing that you have any energy at all to work out being pregnant and taking care of all your little munchkins.
Morris, why was your family against the pregnancy?

I told my mother last week. She screamed in joy. I had my family convinced we only wanted 1 child.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Hello expectant women! I just thought I'd peak in and see how everyone's doing. There's been quite a membership turnover on this thread recently! Where's Melanie? Her due date is quite close, isn't it? Kristen was scheduled for her c-section this morning; I hope all goes well for her.

Maggie, your workouts are still looking amazing!!! How is your weight gain? Are you still getting disapproving looks from the doctor? I've read that your heartrate is higher than usual during pregnancy, so hopefully that's all you're experiencing.

Cheers,
Sandra

Hi Sandra--I hope all is going well with your new little one.

I have no idea how much weight I've gained since I have not stood on the scale for about 6-8 weeks. My doctor has said nothing for the last 2 appointments and I have not mentioned it (also I stand backward on the scale). Maybe he forgot that he lectured me or maybe I have not gained as much as I feel I have. Although, my belly has really grown to the point that all my workout shorts are slipping down during my workouts.

I am so glad that I work out in private:eek: :p :7

Take care
Maggie:)

Hi everyone! This is going to be a short post because I still have work to do :-( and trick or treaters are still out and about.

Sun: Low Max sections 4-7
Mon: Push/Pull
Tue: 1 mile walk, Low Impact Step
Wed: 1 mile walk
Thu: 1 mile walk, 12 miles stationary bike
Fri: Step Jump and Pump Step and Weights Circuit Premix
Sat: Rest

Welcome, Annette and Morris!

Hi all!

We thought we were on the way to the hospital yesterday! Had painful contractions that woke me up at midnight Saturday, then they continued all day, mild and irregular. Guess it was something I did, though, because it never developed into anything. DH was upset that I didn't call the dr., but I didn't want to go to the ER just to be sent home if it wasn't anything. I have an appt. tomorrow and they can check and see if I'm dilated at all... I want deliver early, but, geez, we didn't realize how unprepared we are until yesterday :) :) At least I got my hair washed and a fresh pedicure - you know, the important things! :) :)

The week was long, work is nuts, the girls are both sick (nothing serious, just head and chest colds). Tried to workout as much as I could, but there just isn't time some days!

Sunday - LowMax - premix 1-4
Monday - walk
Tuesday - nothing (DH out of town)
Wednesday - Power Max
Thursday - nothing
Friday - nothing - nauseated, sore ribs/abs (think it's from baby kicking)
Saturday - walk

Did everyone have a good Halloween? Personally, daylight savings time is kicking my butt - I'm pooped!! It sure was nice to drive to work in the daylight, though! :)

maggie - you are doing great! how is the heart rate now? do you feel any better

as for me, no one was against the pregnancy; i know they are happy for us. but i think they just are very old fashioned. pregnancy and exercise are not words that go together....

so far on this vacation i have run 6 miles and worked out with weights once. this morning i feel kind of gross - perhaps a function of too much salty food. goal is to do something at least....

Hi everyone. I debated posting at all b/c I had an awful week. I haven't felt that good & I don't want to be negative. I want to be positive for everyone. So, instead of posting my numerous ailments & complaints, I will tell you the positive ones!
I'm so lucky to be pregnant. I'm so fortunate to have 2 beautiful sons. I have a healthy baby growing inside of me, who likes to kick and punch and let me know how healthy they are. My belly looks like a bowling ball & people are really nice to me. My hips haven't grown. I no longer have morning sickness. My winter coat still fits me. My job is wonderful & some day really soon I'm going to have 12 weeks of maternity leave...11 weeks which will be fully paid for. I have everything I need for this baby as far as material things go. I purchased 3 new tops this past week, and they make me feel really good about myself. I've gained less than 30 pounds thus far. I am truely a blessed woman!!!!

As far as workouts went, I exercised 3 times this week. I don't remember which workouts I did...but I nolonger do Cathe's workouts as I can't handle any impact. I will try to do kickboxing and Tae Chi this week!!

Good luck to Kristan!!!!! We want details!!!
Fiddlefit, nice to hear from you!
Maggie, your workouts look incredible. Yahoo!!! No concerns about you!
Shopaholic, did you like Fit Mama? I knew you'd have a 2nd one. ;)

I know I forgot a bunch of you. I'm sorry I forgot a bunch of you. You're in my prayers gals!!!

Melani--I wish I could say my hips haven't grown:p . I'm sorry you are not feeling well, but you are sooo close. Hang in there.

Morris--I'm glad they are not upset about your pregnancy. That would be too bad. Just hang in there with your workouts. You are doing the right thing. 6 miles sounds incredible. Keep it up.

Maggie:)

hi melanie

you don't know me yet as i am new to this post, but i really enjoyedd your post. what a good example you set, to say when you don't feel so great, yet it seemed that even as you were writing you felt better. and so many positive things. way to go! you are really down to the wire. good luck

morris

I just want to say how inspiring you ladies are. So many are in the home stretch and still keeping up amazing routines!!

Melanie - It is awesome you could post all the positives. I really needed that. I have been battling emotionalness and need to focus on the positives and not all my fears. I am going to try to follow your example this week!! 11 weeks paid maternity leave is awesome!! I will only be paid for 4 weeks if it is not a c-section and 6 if it is! But I have been hording my PTO to use!

GraceNote - Sorry Daylight savings is kicking your butt. I am in Indiana and we don't observe DST yet, so it is interesting to hear what people think about it. I would enjoy having daylight in the mornings before 8, but not sure I could switch schedules!!

Adrienne - You are keeping up some awesome workout routines!! Hope I am still doing all that in five weeks!!!

Morris - I have had plenty of disapproving looks. People don't think that someone 27 weeks along should be running, but we all know that exercising is best for us and the baby, so I guess that is all that matters!!

Maggie - I had to take my resting pulse after reading your post. I have never checked it! Holidays can be interesting with all the family! I wouldn't feel bad about dropping down to the 4" step, I don't feel coordinated enough to do the step at all anymore. Oh, and I totally avoid the scales anymore. I eat healthy and exercise and so whatever I gain I must need.

Workouts...

Monday - 30 minutes stair climber, 30 minutes treadmill on incline, 45 minutes lower body.
Tuesday - 45 minutes treadmill on incline, 45 minutes upper body.
Wednesday - 30 minutes jog, 30 minutes walk on incline.
Thursday - 45 minutes spinning class, 45 minutes lower body.
Friday - Rest
Saturday - 45 minutes lower body
Sunday - 30 minutes jog, 30 minutes walk on incline.

I did work out until the bitter end:

10/24: nothing
10/25: gym for 30 minutes
10/26: walk 2 miles
10/27: walk 2 miles, 15 minutes running up and down stairs to the Arch-- no labor
10/28: walk 1 mile, do crunch yoga mama
had baby on 10/29

Kristan--you go girl! and now for a much deserved rest with that new baby.

Annette--your workouts are amazing, you will be thankful for being in such good shape when it comes time to deliver and when you are recovering post partum. Keep it up.

Maggie:)
