hello everyone. hope this finds you all well and growing growing. my belly is bigger every day (especially after the pizza we ate for dinner last night!)

my week ended up okay. i tried shopaholic's advice towards the end of the week and cut my workouts a bit to see if i felt less tired. didn't seem to help. i am really in awe of all of you with kids already. that must be a 24/7 workout. i just take care of myself and dh and dog and cat but i am still fried. sleep just feels wonderful.

i have my glusoce test this weekend. itfeels like a big milestone to me. i am not however looking forward to the weigh in:)

sun - kpc, boot camp
mon - low max
tues - imax 2, c and wts step only
weds - kpc, me
thurs - spin calss 45min
fri - low max
sat - imax 2

the obsessive part of me wants to do more, but the stamina is going....

hope everyone has a good week.

Hi everyone,

I found out I don't have gestational diabetes but my numbers were close so doctor has me limiting carbs and sweets which is not easy for me. I actually lost almost 2 pounds from week 28-30, maybe it was fluid , but it made me happy. Weight gain is around 20 pounds so I am back on track. My energy is still pretty good.

Morris, I was worried about how life would be with a child but despite lack of sleep, adjusted well to baby #1. Expect the first few weeks to stink but then you just adjust. Give yourself some slack on your workouts, they really are alot even for someone nonpregnant. I found my first pregnancy with mod. 1 hour workouts, i kept my muscle tome and lost the weight within first few months. Listen to your body. Good luck on the gestational diabetes test.
Hi to all you other mommies to be.

Looks like folks so far had a great week. I myself have recovered from my vertigo incident - which DH has now dubbed "the dizzies", which allows me to laugh at the whole experience. My belly had a growth spurt last week, giving me that unpleasant "stretched" feeling after every meal.

I wasn't too good about writing down my workouts, so I'm working mostly from memory here:

Sun: Basic Step
Mon: Basic Step, Kathy Smith Project You Upper and Lower Body
Tues: KS P:Y Foundations
Wed: 30 min jog, Basic Step Upper and Lower body add-ons
Thurs: Firm BSS4 Cardio
Fri: 30 min jog
Sat: Low Max, Tamilee I Want Those Arms
Sun: KS P:Y Foundations, Yoga

Linda, glad you are feeling better. That sickness sounds awful! Despite being sick, looks like you had a good workout week.

Hi all,

I have been lurking around for a while, so I thought I would join in. I am 21 weeks tomorrow with my first. I must say I am extremely impressed with all the workouts.

The doctor’s scale was broken last week, which was a fabulous treat!

sun - legs glutes & dynamic stretch Janis Saffell
mon - step max - #1 stretch max
tues - step jump and pump
wen - off
th - step blast
fri - Kathy smith new yoga basics
sat - energy sprint - k voight

i hope my dr's scale is broken tomorrow! i have my gest diabetes test then. welcome to the forum. i too am pregnant with my first and am so in awe of these women who do killer workouts and take care of other kids. i hope to be that way next time around. crazy to even think of that now:) i cannot believe i wrote that.

Morris, too funny that you are talking about us other moms doing killer workouts while we are in awe of yours. My big advice is to get your child used to exercising early. I used to leave dd in her swing while I worked out, later her pac and play and now she exercising with me. I will admit she sometimes gets in my way but laying on me during floorwork or sitting on my step but on the whole likes to exercise. Good luck with the gestational diabetes test.

Good morning ladies,

I've been lurking for awhile since I had to cut back on workouts. I went to Dr. yesterday and no workouts for 2 weeks maybe until I deliver. I am in awe that all of you ladies can maintain the workouts that you do. I can't wait to have a good sweat again! My boys are keeping me busy and have been in the process of renovating my home. I'm really getting excited to meet my little guy. He is getting very stong!

I was wondering if you had any suggestion on tapes for after the baby. I have all of the intensity series but need something easier to get back. Also, when you post workouts are you doing segments or 2 tapes? Just trying to put together a plan.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Hi Boycrazy,
When are you due? Best of luck. I started back to wotking out after pregnancy #1 with pregnancy/postpartum tapes, my favorite was denise Austin's prego workout-I used the shape up after baby segment. I also liked buns of steel postpartum. These plus walks were my staples til i got my 6 week clearance. I also used firm tapes with light weights the first few weeks.

Usually if I do only a seg. I post it as such. If I do 2 tapes , it is because they are short. I skip warm up and cooldown on one tape.

i too post if i just do segments. i usually split my workouts - cannot do two videos in one session, but i try to do one in the am and then something else in the pm depending on how i feel.

i like shopaholic's postpartum suggestions. walking will be great i think, especially with the summer. welcome to th!e forum

HI everyone!!!!
Kudos to keeping up no matter what kind of workout you do!
I LOVE walking, unfortunately I live in AZ and it'll be sooooooooooo hot, even in the mornings, towards the end that I will not be able to walk:( Right now is so gorgeous so I try to walk and play at the park as much as possible.

Same routine LoMax, just mixing it up, it's always a good workout. I do it 5 times a week.

I soooooo agree with Shopaholic, I had Hannah with me exercising since day 1, she totally plays while I do it and yes lots of times she climbs the step while I'm on it! But I set one up beside it for her and she still wants to be on the one I'm on, so I end up switching, it's hilarious!
She started in the swing or bouncer or napping right where I was working out, then as she got older she would roll, then crawl and play play play. It'll be so neat to see if she starts stepping along with me. I'll do the same with #2:D

The belly feels hard to carry the second half of the day. Does anyone else feel this way.

How about Prego Head? I"m always in such a loss for the right word. So embarrassing.

Hannah just stuck her finger in my belly button, hee hee.

Off to do Lo Max, even though I get tired so fast!!

Curly, your dd sounds like mine. I have 3 steps and 2 firm tall steps, she of course wants the one I am on. I do keep special toys downstairs where I exercise and she eventually leaves the step. She now knows words like kickbox, upper body toning and tae bo! Lol. Is yours a petite one like mine? If I recall you have the height genes like me. I am almost 5 feet.

Hey shopper!
Yes, she is so petite. I'd put a picture of her on here, but I don't know how to do it!
You can see her on my website www.curlyqtees.com she is on the main page and the About Us page;-)
She's soooooooo funny. She loves to stand on it, climb over it back and forth and dance on it. She has tons of toys down there (the basement) she always goes back and forth. She just turned one. I can't wait to see her mimic the moves, how cute. I'm 5'3, a lil taller than you but not much. You're itsy bitsy! Oh my my belly is already feeling so heavy, I'm doomed til the end! I swear my body gets completely taken over by the pregnant belly. There's no room for us to spread! Thank god for my snoozle, it's the best maternity pillow ever, comfort. Without it I'm just dying.
