hello everyone. hope you are all feeling as good as can be. hope there are lots of babies this week - rachel on tuesday, if not before. curly, you sound like you are getting so close - maybe your little one prefers june to july! linda, i hope you are feeling good. i think you are due thursday? i am chugging along, nothing new to report. cramps off anf on all the time, in my back and in the front, and they do wake me up, but my little guy is not ready to go yet i guess. hopefully today.... meanwhile, my mil has called twice this weekend to see if anything has happened, and i know when i show up to work monday, i will hear,"you are still pregnant?!?" no pressure:) good thing is i feel really good. have stepped up my workouts marginally with the hopes of stimulating something. also walking a lot.

hope all you other moms to be are feeling good or headed in that direction.

sun - low max, muscle endurance
mon - kick punch crunch, 40 min strength
tues - cardio and weights step only, legs and glutes, 3 mile walk

Hello everybody,

morris - i hope your little guy is ready soon ... just looking at your workouts this week is making me sleepy. what was your routine like in your first trimester? I'm just about 6 weeks and have several non-tired days, and then several days when I can't even stay awake :) how long did you keep doing Imaxes?

sun - leaner legs
mon - rest
tues - imax2, 200 walking lunges
wed -pub, bbwo (bonus butt w/o - this month's rotation)
thurs - kpc
fri - rest
sat - pub, bbwo

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

arancini - my first trimester i mainly ran and did strength. i normally run 6-7 miles a day 4-5 times a week. i'd spin or do low max the toher days. i didn't get imax 2 or boot camp until i was 20 weeks pregnant when i had to stop running. it hurt my back whereas the other workouts didn't. that was just me. i did imax 2 up until 36 ro 37 weeks when my dr told me to stop heavy impact. it still felt fine, but occasionally i do follow direction...

the first trimester was the hardest for me for sure. but you are halfway thru. hang in there.

thanks, morris. I'm glad to hear that it's possible to do higher impact work that long. pre-pregnancy i could do basically any cathe wo, but now the cardios are definitely harder, and the strength dvds sometimes feel like cardio now. heck, even going up the stairs sometimes feels like cardio.

i really enjoy reading all the posts of those so much further along - it feels almost like time travelling :)

No baby yet for me. I have a doctor's appt today and she will tell me if I have to go tonight to the hospital for cervidal (not sure of spelling) or if I can just go in the morning for pitocin.

I only worked out once this week. I am so uncomfortable! The last 2-3 days have been really bad.

I can't wait to begin regular workouts again after the baby.

By the way, does anyone know of any good nutrition books for nursing moms?

Rachel

Wow Rachel - you are sooooo close!! For nutrition info, Dr. Sears has a family nutrition book that I've heard good things about (though I think only a small portion would cover nursing moms). "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" also has a section on nutrition.

My due date is on Friday...no telling if my guy will be on time, though. (I hope he is). I've had a really easy pregnancy, but I'm just ready to finally meet my little man. I've been having a lot of Braxton-Hicks lately so I hope that means real labor is near.

I've completely phased out all high-impact now as it just doesn't feel right. I was able to jog until about 36 weeks, when I switched to high-intensity walking instead. High-impact aerobics and step still felt good until this week. Emackay and all you ladies just starting your pregnancy journey, do what feels best.

All workouts I did this week are modified to low-impact:

Sun: Prenatal Yoga
Mon: 30 min. walk; Step Blast
Tues: Leslie WATP 3-mile walk
Wed: 30 min walk; Weights from Wedding Tape
Thurs: Basic Step
Fri: 30 min walk; Firm Super Cardio
Sat: Prenatal Yoga, Leslie Walk and Jog

I must say wow!! I'm so amazed at what you are able to do with your workouts near the end of your pregnancies. That is so great. I'm 9 weeks along with baby #3 and battling daily headaches and fatigue. However I have managed to get in 4 days a week of workouts the past few weeks. I'm hoping my energy comes back soon so I can get back to 5-6 day schedule. Here's what I did last week:

Monday- Rest Day
Tuesday- Elliptical (20 min) + Arms Toning (15 min)
Wednesday- Gin Miller Simply Step (60 min)
Thursday- Fusion Pilates for Pregnancy (60 min)
Friday- Rest Day
Saturday- Rest Day
Sunday – Elliptical (20 min) + Arms Toning (10 min)

Good luck to all of you nearing the end, I wish you healthy, happy deliveries:)

rachel, good luck at the dr's. i am so excited for you. i am sorry the last few days have been rough - lots of contractions? or just general discomfort? if you get a chance, post what happens at your dr visit. i go tomorrow and am very anxious to hear what they think. i get so confused thinking things are happpening with all the cramps and pressure, but then i am fine a bit later.

curly, where are you? did you sneak off and have that little baby?!

Oh my no!!!
Morris, you are soooo funny! I can't wait to hear about your doc's visit.

My week wasn't as fab as yours. You do very very well!

Thurs. Basic Step
Friday Lo Max
Saturday we went to the lake and I walked 1 mile uphill and 1 mile down hill.

That's it for this week. Had lots of discomfort with pressure and how low she is. My FIL says I'll probably have her on my original due date which is July 15th. He said the ultra sounds aren't 100% accurate on due dates. What's funny is I wrote down on the calendar when I got my last period, then they changed the date on me cuz the baby's size in the ultra sound. My FIL said accurate dates are more accurate than the size they see in the us.
Interesting, isn't it?

Mommy to Hannah Lilly born 3/25/05

it is interesting. is he your doc, or just an obgym someplace else. my brother is a pediatrician, so i call him with all my questions. sorry you are so uncomfortable though. that is no fun. perhaps your little one will shift a bit this week and things will feel better. i definately have really uncomfortable days, then do better all of a sudden. i will post later after my dr visits.

No no he's not my doc, personal one;-) I love my OB, he looks exactly like Will Ferral. So funny. He's great. But my FIL is who I turn to about everything and I do have him in the delivery room. You should do this, when Hannah was born, once her head and shoulder was out, my hubby pulled her out. Then cut the cord. It's something so incredible that'll never be taken away from him. And he loves to tell the story;-) Keep it in mind.

When you are preg with your second, you tend to carry lower than the first and I happened to carry very low with the first. So it's more ouch this time. With Hannah I was able to exercise all the way up no discomfort whatsoever. OH well, I still hobble along even though it feels like my insides are all about to fall out. LOL!!!

Can't wait to hear about the doc visit:D

Good morning everybody!

I know I am a little late this week, but here I am! :7

I think I worked out 2 or 3 times last week 30 minutes each, so it's not even worth mentioning :-( .

If I see morris workouts my jaw just drops, you go girl!!!

I used to workout at 4 am in the morning but since I am pregnant I can't get up at this time anymore and when I am 10 hours at work and normally pretty tired when I get home, so I am glad to get in my 30 minute workouts.

The nauseau is finally leaving me, but I am still pretty tired, but I can handle that.

How are all 1st trimesters doing? We are almost in the second trimester, woohoo!!!! :7

I have 6 more days of work left and I will be off all July. We are going to visit my parents in Germany, so we are getting really excited. Hadn't had a vacation in almost 2 years, so this will be wonderful and I am sure I will have time to exercise :D :D :D .

Hope that everybody is doing good and I am sending some labor vibes to everybody who is getting really close.

Have a wonderful week
Kristine :)
