Hi Everyone! I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving-I ate way too much pumpkin pie, but that's what that day is for:) Because of the busy week, I haven't gotten much exercise in (I know, excuses, excuses...)
Here are my workouts:
Last Sunday: Walk-30 minutes. I was in some pain in the beginning, but then after after about 10 min. of slow walking, everything loosened up, and I was fine.
Mon: 20 min. Bow flex (upper body)
Tues: Firm-Standing Legs
Wed: 30 min. KPC (very low intensity) and 20 min. upper body on Bowflex
Thurs: I ate all day and laid around with family:7
Fri: 30 min. walk
Sat: nothing

Today, I plan to go to the gym to work lower body and to do 30 min. on EFX.

Jen, did you have your U/S yet? Imani, did you have any recent dr.'s appointments?

My sleeping has somewhat returned to "normal", so I hope that lasts now for a while. I am enjoying this time off of work, and I do not look forward to going back on Tuesday (there is SO much to do at home). When are you going to register for baby stuff?

Take care!

Hi Jen and other moms to be! My name is Heather and I am about 8 or 9 weeks pg with my 3rd baby. I have my first dr appt this week. I would love to join this check-in and visit with other ladies going through the same sorts of struggles and joys that come with pregnancy. I have been not getting many workouts in lately, not because of the pregnancy (although I am always exhausted in the first trimester) but because I have been battling plantar fascitis. I hurt my foot doing Power Circuit a couple weeks ago and have been really trying to give it time to heal. So I'm taking it fairly easy cardio wise, trying to get weight training and ab work in while I still can.

Thanks for letting me visit, I look forward to getting to know you over the next several months.

Jen: When are you due?

Love, Heather

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. My workouts were pretty bad last week. I went in for the first ultrasound on Monday and found out that we are having twins...however, they couldn't see a membrane separating them and they think one of the twins may have some cysts in the abdomen. So we were pretty scared by that news. They scheduled us for another (higher resolution) ultrasound on Wednesday. We are really looking forward to the results of that. We both hope it was just a misdiagnosis and that everything is fine with both babies, and that they have their own aminotic sac. (The nurse told me that it was really early for them to be able to see something like that..I'm only 11 weeks now, so only 10 at the time of the ultrasound) If they don't I'll be on bed rest the entire pregnancy with ultrasounds every week....which will be extremly hard with a two year old running around. Any way, I'm hoping to find more about working out with twins when I go to the doctor this week.

Hope all is going well with everyone else!

Hi! Welcome, Heather. Glad you can join us. I am due on March 31st, and I am having a boy. This is my first pregnancy, and my husband and I are very excited.

Lindzebird, I will say a prayer for you, the twins and your family. Please let us know how everything goes on Wednesday-I will be thinking about you.

I took a walk with my husband today, and I was all energetic about going, but 5 minutes into it, I got really bad cramps in my abdomen and had to slow down a lot. Eventually, they went away and I felt fine. I ended the walk soon after and have been taking it easy at home. I know that my body is telling me to slow down, but I am so used to moving all the time, this has me a bit frustrated. Not to mention, I feel like a cow. Oh, well!

Have a good week!

Hi everyone!

Welcome, Heather and Lyndzebird!

Last week I had my ultrasound, and found out our firstborn will be a boy! It was so slick to watch his little skeleton moving around, checking him out from all angles. It was clear to see his heart beating, but the other internal organs were fuzzy and hard to read. The picture we ended up with has his little hand up waving to us- really cute!

I was relieved to see him move around, as I don't feel him in my belly yet. My husband and I have decided we would like to name him Eric William.

My workouts:

On the week of Nov. 14th I did S&H weights, and the slow reps felt great for me. I also did Keli Roberts Step It Strong (CIA), and liked it too- I had found it too easy pre-pregnancy, and it's perfect now!!!

This week's workouts:
Sun. Cathe's Cardio Kicks 35 min.
Mon. Cathe Power Hour Legs
Thurs. Cathe S&H Chest, Back and Shoulders
Sat. Kathy Functionally Fit PFB Cardio 35 min.

I have a lot more energy now. It's a relief not to come home exhausted. Although I still do appreciate a nap when I can...:)

Have a great week!:7

Jennifer! I've been wondering how you've been doing. You say the little guy on the u/s? That's a very special moment! When I had my 18week u/s with my first daughter, we took the picture to one of those photo shops and had them transfer it onto t-shirts, with "Love's Labourers" written across the top. Me, my hubby, and my best friend who was part of the labour team all wore the t-shirts when I went into labour, and until the birth. I still have my t-shirt, and it's my favourite souvenier (besides the child!) from the whole experience.

It's nice to see that you're still getting some workouts in. Are you modifying the parts of SH that require you to lay flat on your back, or are you still okay with that?

All the best,
Sandra

Hi Everyone!

Lindzebird, keep us posted on the results of the u/s. I wish you the best.

Welcome Heather!

My week was wonderful. I got to go home and see my family. This was the first time I had seen most of them since I got pregnant. Of course they all expected me to have a big belly by now but I really don't. I guess I thought I'd be showing by now too. I went to the doctors on the 19th and I still haven't gained any weight. The doctor said this was fine and that the weight will come. So as long as the doctor says everything is going well, I'm not going to worry. Part of me just can't wait to be showing! At the doctor's I also got to hear the heart beat for the first time! The rate was 150BPM and you could also hear the baby moving around!

I didn't workout at all last week unless you could the mall walking we did on our shopping trips which almost felt like a workout. I had to rest a lot in order to keep up with everyone. I hope to squeeze some workouts in this week.

Jennifer, your ultrasound sounds like it was fun. I think that the U/S was the best invention! I am counting the days until mine! I don't know how people make it through the entire 9/10 months without finding out the sex. It's killing me just waiting 5 months!

I am doing chest work, lat pulls and french press all on an incline bench. So far so good!

How are you doing?

Jennifer:)

Jen V-So, you're having a boy too? So are we:) I like the name you picked out. We chose Andrew Michael as the name for our little guy. I am glad to hear that everything went well with your U/S. Because my little stinker didn't cooperate when I was getting an U/S two weeks ago, I have to go back on 12/10 and get another quick one so they can see his head.

I'm doing okay. We're trying to conceive again, and if you care to read a horrendously detailed description of my past month, you can check out my question to Autumn :) The short version is that I'm 4 days past my period, not menstruating, yet still getting a negative pg test, even though there are good reasons to believe that I'm pregnant. I don't like living in this limbo!

I'm glad to see you're doing so well!! Elizabeth, co-host on The View is due on my previous due date, which would be near yours as well. Whenever I catch the show, I always look closely at her belly, to see how far along I would be by now. I think I'd look much more bloated than her :-D But I have an idea how you're looking these days. My sis-in-law is also due the previous week, so babies will be abounding at the end of March!

All the best,
Sandra
