Hi Everyone! My computer was down for most of lastweek due to some annoying trojans. We finally got rid of them! How is everyone doing?

I had a dr's appt. lastweek, and everything was fine. I didn't ask about getting the flu shot, though. I know that there is a big shortage, and my sister just called and said that the hospital she works at is now giving them to pregnant women. I need to call my family doc. tomorrow and see if they are doing the same. Did any of you get one yet?

I have been sticking to low-key workouts (still doing a lot of walking, occasionally getting to the gym, doing some Cathe workouts, lifting lighter weights than usual).

Well, I'd love to hear how everyone else is doing.

Hi Jen!

I haven't taken the flu shot up here; I'll ask my doctor when I see him in two weeks.

I've found that I need to lift lighter weights too. I simply tire more quickly. I tried Cathe's SJP strngth only pre-mix, and it was a nice short workout, but I felt I covered everything.

Is anyone doing any ab work? Right now I just contract my ab muscles while in a sitting position, and I also do some oblique work. I want to be strong for the final push!

Here's my "light" workout week last week:

Tuesday: Gay Gasper's CIA Cardio Crazy : 30 min. cardio
Wed.: Cathe SJP Strength only
Sat.: Cathe Supersets

Wow! I can't believe I actually got nly one cardio in there! I've only done that when I've been very ill. I have to tell myself I still walk whenever I can, and I still do the housework myself. Well, I'm off to get a cardio in for this week!

Hi Jen & Jen!:)

I can't seem to get past the throwing up *issues*!
Last week I did just a little...
Thurs~ 1 mile Leslie walk
Sat~ 1 mile outside
Sun~ 2 miles outside

My goal for this week is to do the upper body premix from the IMAX2 & Cardio&Weights DVD twice this week. It is only 20min long so I should be able to handle it!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi Jen and Jen,

Last week went pretty well for me. We let the cat officially out of the bag and told everyone about our little one. plus we had our first ultrasound! That was incredible! You could see the baby's eyes and nose and mouth and it moved it's arms and legs! The heart rate was 167 which i thought was pretty high but the doctor said that was fine for the first trimester. I can't wait til the next ultrasound when we can see if it's a boy or a girl. Are you guys going to find out or will you keep it a surprise?

I did well with the workouts. I went to curves 3x but did no videos. I plan to start adding some of the short workouts soon because I am starting to have more energy. I'm doing some ab work but not a whole lot. I hope to add more before I can't lay on my back.

Michelle,

Keep it up! My girfriend had the terrible nausea until 20 weeks. I hope for you it ends sooner!

Imani,
How cool to see your ultrasound! I'll be 16 weeks at my next ob. appointment. How exciting to know an ultrasound can be done then! You are fortunate to have your baby restless and not sleeping at the time. You've got me excited!

Hi Girls!

Jen, my workouts have dropped off tremendously in intensity and in duration. I would like to get to the gym tonight, but it is already 7:30, and I feel very tired. I think I will go, though. I don't stay as long as I used to. As long as we keep moving, no matter how little, we are doing fine!

Imani, I was so excited to see our baby at our first ultrasound too. That was almost two months ago. It is so amazing, isn't it? It is SO exciting to tell people that you're pregnant, and usually, everyone is very happy to hear the great news. My next ultrasound is on 11/10, and we will find out the sex then. We want to know so bad!!!

Michele, Welcome! I am so sorry to hear that you are having morning sickness (well, all day sickness). I read a tip once about sucking on Atomic Fireballs to help settle your stomach. I bought them cause I was desparate, and I'm not sure if they worked, but they took my mind off of the sick feeling cause they were hot.

Well, I guess I am off to the gym:)

Hi again everyone!

I'm so glad I found you guys!

I have a workout question... How do you work your chest after the 1st trimester? (Please don't say push-ups... I HATE them...x( )

I did bi's & tri's yesterday for the 1st time in a month. I want to do chest & back today but am not sure how to handle it...

Thanks! Michele

Mi Michele!

I do chest flies and chest presses on a step bench that is on an incline (that way you avoid being on your back). I use dumbells, as they are easier to hoist up from the floor during rest. I never liked push-ups, but I still feel okay to do them. Anybody with other tips?

For my back I feel more comfortable with one arm rows, as I can use my other arm to keep me more stable.

Michele, I work my chest on an incline too. I also do wall leans (put palms against wall and stand with feet about 1 1/2 feet from wall-lean in and out). I am finding my abs hard to work. I took some tips from a recent post on this forum, but I really miss doing the hard abs that Cathe does! I am putting some of her new DVDs on my Christmas wishlist. Do any of you know if they will have all the workout options (like workout blender, premixes, etc) that her other recent workouts have? Of course, I will wait till after the baby to actually do them-I think they will help me get motivated to get back into the groove.
