Hi ladies,

Wow, it's already October, can you believe it. Time is flying by and before you know it'll be Christmas. :)

Here are my workouts from last week or at least what I think I did. Pregnancy brain is hitting me hard and if I don't write stuff down, I forget.

Sun - 40 min treadmill walk
Mon - off
Tue - 30 min treadmill hill climb
Wed - GS Chest and Triceps Timesaver
Thu - GS Legs 30 min Timesaver
Fri - GS Back, Shoulders and Biceps Timesaver
Sat - off

Yeah, I am really proud of myself, I got 5 workouts in last week :7 .

I am feeling ok, was a little off yesterday and had a headache all day, so I really didn't do anything yesterday, my husband was at work all day and of course in the evening I got really really emotional ;( , arrgghh I sure don't like that hormone thing, but I am back to normal now ;-) .

Oh, and great news, I got the results of the glucose tolerance test back and everything is ok, yeah!!!!!!! :D

I hope you all have a good week
Kristine :)

Hello everyone!
Wow Kristine, great workout week:) That's wonderful!

I was only able to get 3 workouts in last week, just had a crazy week with celebrating our anniversary, painting our downtstairs (painted for about 4 hours on Sat and Sun), and have come down with a head cold on top of all that! Funny how everything hits at once.
So, hoping to get a few more in this week, but don't know if I'll be able to do much more than last week as we still have 2 more rooms to paint.

Pregnancy is going well, baby is kicking like a pro:) My hips and back have felt a bit better the past few days which has been wonderful.

Kristine, so glad your glucose results came back normal, that's always a relief. I'm sure all the exercising is really helping to keep you and the baby healthy. I go in for my glucose test at my next doctor's appointment in about 4 weeks.

Here's what I was able to do last week:
Monday – Rest Day
Tuesday – Denise Austin Fit and Firm Pregnancy (40 min)
Wednesday – Prevention Walk Your Way Slim (30 min)
Thursday – Rest Day
Friday – Rest Day
Saturday – Water Aerobics (45 min)
Sunday – Rest Day

Take care everyone. Have a great week!
Stacey

Hi all- hope everyone is feeling great!! We finally have some cooler, fall weather here and I'm loving it!!

I only got in three workouts this week, we had ds birthday party and just a crazy week. I'm hoping to get in more this week but I still can't get over how tired I am by 7:30.

Anyone know where I might be able to find petite maternity pants? I've been to all the stores- Kohl's, JCPenny, Old Navy and none of them carry petite sizes!! I'm beginning to think only 5'5" and over women get pregnant!! Any suggestions would be most helpful- with my other two, KOhl's and Penny's had petite pants but this time - nothing!

I hope everyone feels great and congrats Kristine on the glucose test.

Jean

Stacey - Glad your hips and back are feeling better, maybe it's from all the painting you are doing ;) . Isn't it nice to know that everything in the house will be done before the baby gets here. I am really exciting about all the renovating we are doing (although, it's a lot of work  )

Jean - I need everything in tall sizes and most of my pants are from Gap, they have tall and petit sizes. Go online and check them out. HTH.

Kristine :)

Good Morning everyone!

I was able to get in three short workouts last week but that was it. I'm having a hard time just keeping my eyes open for eight hours straight at work. Before I was pregnant I could work out easily in the morning but now I just get to winded first thing so I have to work out in the afternoons.

As a first time mom who is only 9 weeks along, can you experienced mom's help me out? Does it really get better the 2nd trimester? I miss the energy I used to get from my workouts, now, they only make me more tired (that could possibly also be attributed to the cold I seem to have developed the last few days). Also, can you recommend some short, effective total body strength workouts? Most of Cathe's full workouts are just to much for me right now and I'm having a hard time remembering if there were some short total body premixes that might work well. Or a pregnancy DVD that you would really recommend?

Thank you all for your help. Good luck to all of you.

Hello!
Congratulations to you and welcome to the forum. So exciting that this is your first, how wonderful:)

You should get some more energy in the second trimester and find your workouts to be doable again. I think it just varies per person (and per pregnancy) on when you start to feel more energetic, but generally speaking, somewhere between the 12-14th week you start to feel better. The most important thing to do is listen to your body and rest when you need to, walking is always a great low impact way to get some exercise during pregnancy.

I'm actually fairly new to Cathe workouts, just started working out with her Basic Step & Body Fusion dvd after I got it for Christmas. I was able to do Basic Step during the first trimester and a little into the second before it became too difficult for me. I actually am now just doing prenatal dvd's just because it's what works best for me at my stage of pregnancy. I know that many other moms are able to continue with the Cathe and regular workouts well into their pregnancies though.

As far as a recommendation for strength training, I highly recommend the Perfect Pregnancy Workout (available on Amazon.com). It is a strength training dvd geared toward pregnant gals, and shows modifications for beginner and intermediate/advanced. The other prenatal dvd's I use (and you may find these are better later in your pregnancy) are:

Pilates During Pregnancy with Niece Pecenka (was able to do this until about a couple of weeks ago and it became a bit tough for me)
Denise Austin's new prenatal dvd - Fit and Firm Pregnancy (cardio and toning modified for trimesters)
Leisa Hart's FitMama (cardio, yoga fat burn, and labor prep)
Quick Fix Prenatal Workout (all toning, 30 min in length)

I also have a really easy one I'm saving for my last month or so called Fusion Pilates for Pregnancy (it's very easy, but provides a good stretch).

Other than that, you might check to see if there are any prenatal classes in your community. I'm starting a Fit for 2 prenatal class in a few weeks offered through my local hospital. I also am taking a water aerobics class (great during pregnancy) through our parks and rec.

Sorry for the short novel! Hope this is helpful. Hang in there and enjoy this special time in your life;)

Good Morning Preggo's!

How is everyone? Im doing pretty good. Just trying to find something to do, thats all. I hate going to work but when i am off, I am so bored. Im only just realizing how much time I use to spend working out before
Anyone finding it hard to sleep yet? Im still sleeping good but I tihnk it will get harder in the weeks to come.
I had my glucose test done yesterday and it wasn't that bad. I guess I will call in a couple of days to see if the results are in...or maybe I wont! LOL I think they will let me know if I got a big fat "F".

Anyway, thats it for me.I guess most of us are heading into our 3rd trimester on Sat!! WOO HOO!!!!

Hi ladies....mind if I join your thread? I am 10 weeks along, and need something to keep me accountable. I have had the worst morning sickness for the past three weeks, and it just keeps getting worse. I literally spent the last 48 hours on the couch; yesterday I didn't even shower! This is terrible! I usually can't sit still, and do 90 min workouts a day. Now I am lucky to get in 3 days a week ;(
I have a 14 month old son, and didn't feel bad once throughout the entire pregnancy; This one is quite the opposite!

Of course you can join! Well..maybe you are having a bouncing baby girl this time? I was so sick with my first, which was a girl. I couldn't do anything only lie in bed all day. This time it was a little different. I had days where I was sick all day but it was mostly in the night time after dinner and that stopped after the 13th week. And I hated every second of it. Its great that the terrible stuff ends in a few weeks b/c I would only have had one child if that were the case.

Anyway, I am working right now and its 6:30 in the morning. It will soon be time to get off and go home. Its not to bad cause I get to nap at work but Im finding it pretty hard to get comfy in that chair. DH wants me to give up working now but there really isn't any need. There isn't anything to do at home until we move into the new house.

Thats it from me. Must do a little work before I go home!!!
Lori:)

Hello, welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy!!

I'm so sorry to hear you've been sick, that is no fun. Hopefully, you'll start to feel better soon.

If it makes you feel any better I've been fighting a head cold all week and haven't been able to work out at all this week. I'm hoping I'll be able to at least get a couple of workouts in this weekend.

Hang in there!

Thanks for all the great advice.

I've been out sick the last few days - just a cold but it really did a number on me. When I called in to work on Wednesday to tell them I was taking a sick day, I actually forgot my phone number - all I could get out was an area code and the first digit, then I drew a complete blank. I guess I really needed to get some rest. I'm feeling much better now - back to my normal, exhausted self. I think I might even be able to get a few short walks in this weekend - I think the fresh air might do me good.

Krystalb - I'm also at 10 weeks. We can help keep each other motivated over the next few months! Hopefully, we'll pass the fatigue stage soon. I can't wait to feel (somewhat) normal again and get some more workouts in.
