Moms-to-be Check-In week of 07/30/06

Krille007

Cathlete
Good morning everybody,

I am back from vacation and we had a blast!!!

What happened to our check in? Nobody wants to check in anymore? :-(

I hope we can keep the check in going, it's so nice to see how everybody is doing and how the workouts are going.

Well, I was 3 weeks in Germany to visit my parents and I brought some Cathe DVDs (KPC, KM, PS and one more), so I worked out 2-3 times a weeks and we also did tons of walking, so I think I did ok. My eating was good too, I had some treats, but not too bad.
Had a hard time leaving and pregnancy hormones, sure don't make it easier either ;-) . But I am back and getting back in the groove.

I have a Dr.'s appointment today and they will do the triple screening test today. My Dr. didn't mention anything about a sonogram, but it is the time there he might do one and we might be able to find out the sex!!!! I will keep you all posted.

It's my first day back at work and I am still going through my e-mails. It's a nice and relax first day back and everybody is happy to see me. Everybody said that I finally show a little bit, but not as much as they were hoping ;-) .

I hope you are all doing good and that we keep this thread going.

Have a wonderful day
Kristine

P. S. The baby hasn't kicked yet and my parent were so hoping that it would, while I am with them :-( !

Hello!
So happy to see someone else posting on this thread. I haven't checked in in a couple of weeks now, so I'm excited to get back on it. I'm now 15 weeks along and have thankfully had an increase in energy. Unfortunately, still battling frequent headaches, but hoping those will ease up as the pregnancy progresses. I have another doctor's visit this week and will be taking my kids with me to meet the doctor and let them watch me get my belly measured:) They are pretty excited. I'm hoping the doctor will order a sonogram as I'd love to find out the sex.

As it is in so much of the country, it's miserably hot here, so I've been doing all my workouts inside. Looking forward to some relief from the triple digits so I can get out for walks again a couple of times a week in the evenings. Here's what I did last week (by the way, I'm still a Cathe newbie and the only dvd I own is Basic Step, I plan on purchasing Low Impact Step, CoreMax and Stretch Max after the baby comes in January):

Monday – Cathe F. Basic Step (30 min)
Tuesday – Rest Day
Wednesday –Elliptical (20min) + Arms Toning (10 min)
Thursday – Rest Day
Friday – Quick Fix Prenatal Workout – Toning (30 min)
Saturday – Prevention Walk your Way Slim (45 min)
Sunday – Gin Miller Step Aerobics (40 min)

Hope all the mom's to be are feeling well and able to stay active. Best of luck to all of you.

Stacey

Hi Everyone!!

Wow - it's been more than a month since I've checked in!!! I've been a bit of a slug and not working out regularly, but I have done a some walking. My DD turned 4 last week so we extended our weekend by two days and really did it up - two parties, visit to Sesame Place, and finally the Lion King on Broadway. It was a blast but exhausting - I think I walked enough for two weeks ;) I'm also dealing with a cold in 102 degree weather!! My dr. said I could take some otc medicine, but I'm a little nervous about it. Has anyone taken anything for cold symptoms or do you just stick it out?

Kristine - Glad your trip went well!! We're visiting my parents at the end of this month in TX after a quick trip to Disney World. I think you and I are pretty much on the same timeline...my due date is 12/30. I haven't felt the baby kick yet either. I sit for about an hour at the end of each day and see if I can detect movement...nothing yet. I think I do feel something though...maybe a little squirming?? It's kind of hard to describe.

Stacey - I think we're going to take our little one to the next Dr. visit, too. Our little girl has been having "conversations" with my belly and wondering why the baby isn't talking back..lol. Kids are the best, aren't they?

Oh! I almost forgot, the last US showed that we're having a girl!!! We're super excited.

Take care ladies :7

Trish

That's so fun to feel movement for the first time, I swear I imagine it sometimes and I'm only 15 weeks along. Feels like a slight fluttering (if that makes sense). That's really cool that we are all due within a month of each other too.

My kids are hilarious about talking to my belly too, in fact, my daughter (she's 3) is always trying to "see" the baby through my belly button! Totally cracks me up. She also regularly gives my belly a kiss. It's adorable.

This Fall we'll be moving the kids into a room together, and they're suprisingly very excited about it. Still have to come up with a compromise on paint for their room. My son wants green, and my daughter wants blue...hmmmm...maybe I'll use both colors? Not sure. Anyway it's very exciting. I'm hoping to get an US to find out the sex of this next one so I can figure out what color to paint the nursery (such a planner).

You both have a great week! :) :)

Hi Ladies,

Its been a while since I have checked in as well. Maybe even monthes:eek:
I am doing pretty good. The workouts were put on the back burner and I have only been walking. Although last week I did 1/2 LM and HST. I couldn't beleive how high my HR was. And when I workout, I feel the baby moving alot more in the night time. Weird hey?

So far, I am 18 weeks and 2 days. First ultrasound tomorrow. And I have about 10 lbs on. I look like I am having twins but I think I just filled out early and it will slow down a little.
With all this talk of working out, I may go pick something out to do.I worked the night shift last night and again tonight so I am feeling a little sluggish today.

Lori:)

Hi everybody,

My Dr.'s appoinment went well yesterday. I had to wait for 1 1/2 hours x( and only saw the Dr. for about 5 minutes. He just asked if everything is ok and if I felt the baby move yet. When we listened to the baby's heartbeat and it was 147. He said: "And you haven't felt the baby move yet?". Apparently, it was moving around quite a bit :) .

I will have a sonogram on Thursday in 2 weeks and when will find out the sex, I am excited :7 .

Trish - We are due the same day, well let's see who will go first ;)

Stacey - That's too cute about your daughter. This is my first one, so I don't have no one yet, who wants to peek through my belly button :) .

Kristine :)

Hi Lori,

Nice to see you back at the check in! It's pretty nice to be in the 2nd trimester, isn't it.

10 lbs. is not bad at all. So far I gained 13 lbs., 9 of those in the last 4 weeks x(, but I was on vacation and I am back on track with my workouts, which should help.

Have a great day
Kristine :)

Stacey - blue and green sounds like a fun match!! You could come up with alot of themes with that...

We're hoping the baby will be a good sleeper and after moving her out of our room, we can move her in with her 4-year old sister. There is only one bedroom on the same floor as our bedroom and we're not ready to move Amaya downstairs yet. Plus, she's excited (for now) about sharing a room with her sister. We'll see how that plays out:eek:

Lori - Glad to hear you're doing well!! Wow - that's 3 of us due on or about the same day. When did you start feeling movements? Maybe I'll try doing some workouts and see if I can get a little extra movement going;).

I think I'm at the top of the weight gain listx(....18 pounds and I look it! I gained the bulk of it up front with my marathon eating (helped with the nausea). Anyhow, it seems to have leveled out and I'm gaining about 1 pound a week.

Toodles,
Trish

Lori,

Definitely don't worry about gaining 10 lbs and your belly popping out:) Sounds like you're right on track with weight gain. I also have gained 10lbs and am 15 weeks along. Since this is my 3rd, I feel like I REALLY have gotten big quickly, guess the skin was all stretched out and ready to grow!

Wow, Im impressed! We have a few chatters around here! hahaha

Trish, I have been feeling the baby move for a while now. It wasn't even like fluttering, it felt more like there was something "twisting" around in there! hahaha And I am carrying really high, which is strange. I haven't filled out below at all and I can still fit into my low rise jeans:eek: :)

I feel better about my 10 lbs weight gain now. I have a male Dr and I think they can be a little more "by the book" then a female Dr who actually knows what its like to be a women and be pregnant. He told me I was at the higher end of the scale (for weight gain) and he said " you sure are filling out alot for 3 monthes" That was at my last check up. I am hoping to start working out more and slowing the weight gain down a little.

Yeah, 3 of us are due the same time!:+ I guess I will find out a definite date tomorrow but it shouldn't change to much considering that my periods were normal.

Lori:)

Hi Girls,

No one around today?
I just wanted to report that I had my ultra sound today and everything is looking good. The baby weighs 8 oz and the due date is Dec 30th. You got some good pics from the ultra sound to. It was so nice to see that everything is normal. And that there was only one in there! hahaha
Oh......I also think its a boy. First when she started the ultrasound we could see the full length of the baby and I could see the full package down there. But she wouldn't tell us what it was.

Anyhoo, just thought Id let you know.

Lori:)

Hi Lori,

That's wonderful, I am glad everything is ok!!!

Now we are three that are due on 12/30/06.

I have my ultra sound on Thursday in 2 weeks. I can't wait!!!

Have a great day
Kristine :)

Hi everyone,

I joined the check in about six weeks ago. Then morning sickness set in. Now I am feeling better and hope to get in more workouts. I am still battling sleeplessness a few times a week and I can't eat enough yet so I think that is contributing to my lower energy level.

Here were my workouts last week:

Mon-Gym Style legs, floor work only
Wed-30 min. stationary bike, abs from Leaner Legs
Fri-Supersets

I am still absolutely dumbfounded by the fact that before pregnancy I was doing Imax2 and Kickmax and now I tire during Basic Step. Will this improve during pregnancy or is that how it is until the end?

Take care and have a great rest of the week.

Jeannie

Hi Jeannie!

Completely normal to feel exhausted during a basic workout during your pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. I was so tired during my first trimester and was easily winded doing basic step. I have noticed more energy now that I'm in my second trimester, but definitely still have times when it's all I can do to get through a work out. I think that's completely normal, and each woman's symptoms and/or energy levels are a bit different.

When I have those low energy days, I either rest, or just do one of my very low impact prenatal workout dvd's (either toning, pilates, or some light aerobics). When I have more energy, I'll do the elliptical, prevention walk your way slim (low impact floor aerobics), walking, basic step, or my gin miller simply step classic moves dvd.

Ok, sorry for the lengthy response, hang in there and just do what you can and rest when you need to:) As my doctor says, listen to your body.

Good Morning Ladies!

Kristine, how many ultrasounds do you get? I am assuming that you live in the US right? We only get one here ( I am in Canada) unless there is something wrong, then they may do 2 or 3 more. But we don't pay for them here, so I guess thats the difference.
It is awesome to see the baby though. I don't know if anyone noticed but I had to wipe my eye a couple of times when we were looking.;( We got pics and I am always looking at them...even though I don't know what some of them are! hahahaha

Jeannie, my energy level is down in my shoes! All I wanted to do was sleep when I first got pergnant and even somedays now, I need a nap. Now, I am trying to get back into working out and I can't believe I use to do those workouts either and I use to be able to run 14- 16 kms a day! Im hoping once the baby is born it won't take to long to get my endurance back up!

On that note, I think I will do a workout. I just have to decide which one!!!

Lori

:)

Lori - Well, my Dr. did one when I came in for my first visit to make sure that there is only one in there and I was only 7 weeks or so. The one in 2 weeks will be my "official" one and last one, unless, as you mentioned, there is something wrong. I can't wait to go in for the ultrasound!!!

Jeannie - Don't worry, it'll get better. I was really tired too and had nauseau 24/7, so I workout 2-3 times a week, that's all I could manage. Now I am back to 5-6 times a week, but I haven't done any high intensity cardio workouts, just hill climbs on my treadmill, so I don't know how my energy level would be on an intense step routine. But I noticed if I do weights that I definetly have to go down in weights.

Kristine :)

Lori - I will be having my third US in two weeks. I have a high risk Dr. so maybe she's a little more cautious??? ( I chose a high risk Dr. because overly cautious :p). It's great getting all of those extra peeks at the baby though! Btw, let me know which workout you decide to do. I haven't done a cathe dvd in about 4 or 5 weeks!!! I do really miss it, but I haven't had enough motivation yet to get back to it. I'm hoping that your selection will inspire me :)!!

Jeannie - I was totally wiped in the first trimester - I was hitting the bed everyday by 8:30. My energy level slowly came back between the 13th and 15th weeks. But, I'm still not back in the swing...but then again, I think I just got used to lazing around too muchx(.

Have a great day ladies!

Trish

Kristine, you will enjoy your ultra sound Im sure! I had my first child when I was only 17 (this is my second and I was 28 yesterday) but I didn't enjoy my first ultrasound like I did this one. I think I was just to immature back then, I was only a kid.
I was really looking forward to having a sneak peak at the babe but as time grew closer, I started getting nervous that something would be wrong. Its amazing all of the things they have to look for!

Trish, I just did 3 seg of HSC but I had to stop it in some parts, to catch my breath. And I also had to modify b/c I knew somethings would get my HR to high and thats not good.
I had a really hard time getting back into it as well but the best thing you can do is just put something on, and you will realize how much you missed everything about it. Atleast thats what happened to me.

I wonder who will be the first of us to deliver??? We are all due the same day!:7

Lori:)

Lori,

Ok....I'm going to go for it. If I can get to bed by 9:00, I'm setting the alarm for 4:30 (favorite work out time). I know once I'm back I will love it!! Thanks for sharing

Hhhhmmmm, well with my daughter I delivered her 4 days early (after 60 hours of agonizing back labor;(). So, since most people seem to think that your second is usually born earlier than your first, I'm guessing I will deliver around Christmas!! Lori - was your first before or after the due date? Kristine - since this is your first, you are tough to predict:eek:

Oh and happy birthday Lori!!

Trish

Thanks for the b-day wishes Trish. My first was a week late so I am hoping to go earlier with this one. I don't really want to be in hospital christmas time though. And also my sister isn't coming home until the 27th of Dec so I am hoping she will make it for the babys arrival. But whenever it decides to come....I will let it come out (or should I say "him":p )

Lori:)
