Moms to be Check in Dec 24th

Hello Mommmies,

I am guessing (hoping) that some of the mommies who usually start the check-in are with their new little ones, so I figured I'd start the post for this week. As usual, no exercise to report this week. I've just been taking it kind of easy and waiting out the last few days of this pregnancy. I'm really looking forward to the new baby and getting back to my Cathe workouts :)

My next Dr. appt is on Wednesday, so hopefully there'll be some news :)

Anyhow, hope all of you are having a great holiday!

Hi Everyone!
Hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas day! Ours was so nice, the kids love all of their new toys, and we got to spend some quality time with our extended family.

Trish, no exercise for me either. I've decided to rest up until the end because the last few times I tried to exercise it was very uncomfortable. My sleep pattern is really bad right now, I'm waking up every couple of hours! So, I find myself really needing a nap around the afternoon time. I hope you have good news to share from your doctor's appt. this Wed. You are so close!

I have my next appointment this Thur. afternoon and am very curious to see if I've dilated any more. I'm definitely waddling around and getting some pretty intense Braxton Hicks. I can also really feel the baby down low.

Well, everyone best of luck this week. Gals who are due any day, can't wait to hear all about your birthing experience.

;)

Hi Stacey,

I have had the same sleep pattern as you for the past few weeks...what a pain! I can't wait to get back to a normal sleep routine (which I know won't really happen for a while). But for now I'm definitely enjoying the mid-afternoon naps :).

This morning I woke up at 3:00 with what I hoped were real labor pains. I didn't experience braxton hicks contractions with my first pregnancy, so I'm not sure if these are the real thing or not. The pain hasn't been too severe and the timing is inconsistent so, I'm just giving it a little more time before calling the Dr.

But it's great to know that something is actually happening in there :+

Take care :)

Trish

Trish,
How exciting, this could be your time then, I sure hope so:)

Keep us posted on your progress, best of luck to you this week. I'm going to just hang close to home the next two weeks and not do too much. I'm saving errands for when my husband is home at this point. The kids are quite content with all of their new toys/movies/games they got for Christmas, so there's plenty to keep them occupied while I rest.

Okay, have a great week!!

Good morning mommies,

Merry Christmas!!!!!

I am still here, no baby yet :-( . Sorry, I didn't check in earlier, but I was to busy with Christmas and everything.

Here are my workouts from last week:

Sun - 40 min treadmill walk
Mon - off
Tue - 30 min treadmill walk
Wed - 30 min treadmill walk
Thu - 30 min treadmill walk
Fri - off
Sat - LM cardio only, no blast (I skipped about two intervals, which just felt to uncomfortable for me to do like high leg kicks etc.)

I am so excited I got 5 workouts in last week!!! :)

I went to the Dr. on Friday and I was almost dilated to 2 cm and 80% effaced and she is very low in my pelvis and engaged. My Dr. said I could go anytime, but so far not such luck. I am so ready for my baby girl to be here!!! ;) I am going back on Thursday if she is not here by then.

Trish - I never had Braxton Hicks before either, so I hope that these are real labor pains, keep us posted!!!

Stacey - My baby sits really low too, so I know how you feel. I feel uncomfortable doing kicks etc. because of that.

Hope you all have a great week
Kristine :)

HI Girls,

Another one still here. My sister is on her way home and should be here tomorrow night around 7 ish so I would rather the baby stay in until then. I have another Dr's apt on Thursday and he will check me then to see whats happening. Hopefully something! I have been having Braxton Hicks contractions so something should have happened during those.
I can't beleive some of you are still working out! I can't wait to get back into it. I told DH I was giving myself 3 monthes to get rid of the 40 lbs I have gained. I think thats reasonable. By the time I give birth I should have 25-30 lbs to lose which will leave me with 10 lbs a month to lose. Cross me fingers right????
I was gonna preview my Cathe workouts today but I didn't get around to it so I may do that tomorrow.
Anyway...I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays!

Hi!
Wow Kristine! That's so great that you've been able to keep up with the workouts into your 39th week. I wish I could say I'm able to do the same thing, but I've been way too uncomfortable.

I did get several postnatal workout dvd's for Christmas that I previewed last night. They both look excellent. One is called Post Natal Core Conditioning by BeFit Mom's (there's a write up on it in the latest FitPregnancy), and the other is Fit Pregnancy's new post natal dvd. I'm thinking I'll use those for the first 3-6 months postpartum to retrain my core and pelvic floor and also incorporate some light cardio and weight training. I'm hoping that about 3 months I can start to increase intensity of my cardio to include Cathe and some other more challenging ones. Just plan on taking it real slow to recondition my body. I am going to ask for the Low Impact Step dvd for my birthday in March. I already have Basic Step so I'm thinking I'll do Cathe's beginner rotation at about 3 months postpartum.

Okay, sorry for rambling.
Lori, I'm so curious to hear what your doctor tells you on Thursday. Good sign that your having Braxton Hicks, I bet you'll see some progress for sure.

Talk to you all later:)

Well, the Dr's apt wasn't a very good one. I was hoping for better news. My cervix is soft but still closed. He keeps giving me hope though that things could change very fast. Apparently thats what happens with the second child.
Anyway...I guess the baby will come when its ready. Im not uncomfortable but my heart burn is worse.
Lori:)

Hi Lori,
Hang in there! I think this part of pregnancy is soooo hard, just a big waiting game. I'm hopeful for you that things will change pretty quickly. Are you at 40 weeks yet? Has your doctor said anything about inducing you, or will you just wait it out?

I had my doctor's appt. today and I'm dilated to about 2, have gotten very soft over the past week, and am about 60% effaced. The doctor thinks I should make it another week for sure, and hopefully to the 38 week mark. She did say that based on how much my cervix has softened, once I do start having real labor contractions, things may move very quickly. I'm hoping for a quick labor like I had with my daughter.

So, here's hoping I'm dilated some more by next week. With all the contractions I'm having, it's definitely helping to move things along.

Okay, hope everyone else who is at the end of their pregnancy is doing well. Can't wait to hear about all of your labor and deliveries!

;)

Wow, you are making progress already! I am so jealous! Boo Hoo...hahaha
My Dr didn't tell me howeffaced Iwas or anything like that, but he was optimistic that it could happen anytime. I had kind of a bad day yesterday b/c I was out in public and I am so tired of people saying "you don't have the baby yet"? ...it was like having the same conversation with 20 people in one hour. So, at one point yesterday I was near tears and very emotional but it passed without be having to ball my eyes out.
I guess they will let me go 10 days over but on the 3rd they want me to have a non stresstest done and we will go from there. But like I said, my Dr doesn't think I will make it that long. I asked if I needed to make an apt to see him next week if I didn't have the baby and he said no and the specialist doesn't want to see me either so right now it feels like I don't have a Dr.hahaha
My due date is tomorrow but I think I would rather the baby stay in until the new year so that its not the youngest in its class when they go to school...but then again, apparently we get a pretty good tax break if the baby is born this yr?
I just want it out already!
Lori:)

Hi Lori!
So sorry you had a ton of people asking whether you've had the baby. Sheesh! Makes it so much worse when you're already playing the waiting game.

It's so intersting how different women's pregnanices progress. I have a friend who had all of her kids (3 of them) past her due date, then I have another who had both of hers a full month early. Crazy! I'm thinking 38 weeks, must just be what my body wants to do.

I bet things will start going for you any time now.

Actually had better energy today and didn't feel like I needed to take a nap every other hour (that was yesterday) so got the kids out and am hoping to get out this afternoon and enjoy our milder weather.

Have a great weekend and Happy New Year!

Baby #2 is due some time in late August. I don't remember being this nauseous with my first one, and it's so frustrating! LIke today, it was my day to work out (we alternate on the weekend, hubby and I), but I couldn't do much at all! I started doing SJP, but couldn't make it past the step segment due to feeling so sick. So I put in DM's Total Body Premix and could barely do that one either. I finished it, but only out of stubbornness. I suppose I should've taken the day off, but I am very stubborn when it comes to exercise. I feel as if this nausea is never going to go away! Any words of wisdom from anyone here? I am only 5 weeks along and haven't really thrown up, just feel like crap on and off throughout the day.
