Moms of monster /devilish toddlers

shopaholic

Cathlete
Hi,
I thought it was time to resume our toddler post. I must admit most of the time Alexis isn't devilish but the other night was so funny, she just looked for trouble, first changing the channel on the tv, then playing with the blinds , then trying to go on the computer. She is still thin but is getting taller. She is now repeating whatever we say and are trying to watch our language.

So, how is Noah, Max, Bardric and all her other internet friends?

Hey shopaholic, it's funny to hear alexis is up to some mischief. I guess she wouldn't be a toddler if she wasn't up to something! Max is always up to some as well. So many "things" in our house have been confiscated and put away due to Max finding lots of things to make trouble with. I think "minimalist decorating" is also known as toddler decorating.

So, what are you preg moms thinking for baby names? I can't remember if any of you have announced what you are having. I found it interesting that kristan (i think) was told that the sex of her baby was wrong. I wonder how often that happens. She didn't seem flustered. I would have been if I had bought say, a pink crib, only to be told it is a boy.

I think I am beginning to qualify as a mom of a monster toddler!
My sweet little precious Alyssa, whom I thought could *never* be a terrible two, is becoming just that!! She used to be so sweet and calm, she'd thank me for changing her diaper and invite me to pristine tea parties.

Now she is 2 yrs and 3.5 months, and Hmmmm....she is changing. She is becoming so negative, for example "No I don't LIKE eggs. No I don't LIKE (insert whatever we are offering)". She just wants to snack all day! And she will erupt into tears (not laying down screaming, but certainly erupt into LOUD tears) over absolutely ANYthing.
I think this will get harder before it gets easier. It is nice to hear I'm not alone.

Just thought of one of Max's new favorite things to do. He will hit me (or someone else) and then start crying (semi-fake crying it seems, but with real tears).

And I have heard it's not really the terrible twos, but the terrible 2 years. Like from 1.5 to 3.5 years. I hope not!

Toddlers are so funny. Alexis is still usually good but if she doesn't want something, she says,NO,NO, No! sadly, I've heard its not the terrible 2's but the terrible 3's.

It IS the three's. Actually I've had 4 before her that never went through THIS MUCH trouble. Hannah is so incredibly naughty compared to the others and at the same time she is more fun that ANYTHING. Figure that out. Noah is almost two now and no problems. Hannah is making up for the other 5...just to keep me on my toes. ;) ;) ;)

Thanks for posting shopaholic!! Hope your all doing well! I hear Noah just waking from his nap so better run!! Will post more later.

monster/devilish toddlers, ha ha}( }( . Mr Bardric is so sweet in many ways, but boy can he make a mess. He also hates it when I interfere and ruin his fun. We have had no major injuries in a while, which is good, but if he continues his dare-devilish ways,well....

I think that between the ages of 3 and 5 1/2 are the most challenging. I feel like I am disciplining all the time and getting no where. Then at about 5 1/2, they just seem to turn a behavioral corner and mellow out quite a bit. Malcolm (our downs boy) is the exception--he responds to discipline quite well and is more sweet and compliant than our typically developing children have been at the same age.

And excuse my poorly constructed sentences. I'm totally lazy right now.

take care all
Maggie

Oh thank goodness! I feel like I am constantly on Sydney. I don't enjoy it either. Jordan is only 15 months and seems a bit devilish. I wanted to dress Sydney as an angel and Jordan as a little devil for Halloween but DD nixed it. Maybe next year.

Sydney was a witch. Jordan was incoopertive... his monster/devilish self. I have the cutest pic of Sydney that I'll share ASAP. We got a pic of Jordan throwing Sydney's witch hat off his head... that is about it. :) I bet Miss Alexis was an adorable fairy! Please share a pic of her.

I"m feeling kinda negative this week. I'll post when I'm more positive. I do have prego pictures on you website. Check it out if you want, www.monnie.photosite.com
Glad everyone's doing well. ;)

Wish Noah and Justin could get together for playtime!! So Justin likes the water??? Noah would have been screaming his head off...he is a major water whimp.
Thanks for sharing them!!

Melani--you look so cute. And Justin is adorable! My belly is bigger than yours---and I have 10 weeks to go. I wish I could post pictures. I'm going to check out what is involved and see if hubby will approve.

Maggie:)

Thanks guys. What a nice thing to say. :D

Justin does like water; although, he wasn't always a fan & he doesn't like our pontoon. :(

Melanie,

You are so tiny!!! I am one of those women who looks pregnant from the top of my head to my knees. No edema with either pregnancy so my ankles stay skinny. ;) You are adorable! I can't believe you are soooo close.

I can't wait to see your newest addition!
