Moms check in

shopaholic

Cathlete
Hi all,
I decided we should start a new post.
Alexis only had a fever on Tues but has been fussier all week. I weighed her with me on the scale and she is still under 20 pounds weighing in at 17 pounds with clothes. Unbelievably I tried on many of my clothes from my preprego days they are too big. I think the change for me was a little less eating and more weight work.

Melanie, I hope I wasn't being too nosey. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. it must have been so confusing to you as it was unplanned. Give yourself credit for waiting until your career was set to have Justin.
Maggie, thanks for the compliment on Alexis. She is still looking for a valentine.
Hi to all you other mommies, babies, toddlers and big kids. Can you believe most of us now have toddlers?

Last week's workout week:

Sunday-tae bo live-vol. 2 adv
Mon-PS-bba+PS cts
Tues-firm-hips,thighs(the one from the classics)
Wed-mindy-awesome strength
Thurs-Imax3+a seg. from coremax
Friday-high step challenge
sat-kickmax

My DVDs are scheduled to arrive today. I am sooooo antsy! Please UPS man come early!

Shopaholic, is Alexis okay? Perhaps some more teeth...

I taught Max the sign for 'more' when I feed him, and now he uses it all the time. For him it has come to just mean food. He does the sign whenever he wants to eat. (And it seems that he wants to eat all of the time now). He is trying to say some words. 'Down' for example, when he wants out of his high chair. He can't quite say it, but I can tell when he is trying.

Yesterday Max biffed it big time outside on the street (under da da's watch) and today his face is totally sad and raw looking. His forehead is scabby and has a big bump, and his nose is bloody and raw. Poor guy! I don't want to take him anywhere. I don't want anyone to think we are abusing our child! Fortunately, my only plans today are my guitar lessons (my teacher comes to me, yay!) and again, waiting for Mr. UPS man.

Mon- SB
Tue- L&G
Wed- SJ&P
Thu- ? don't remember
Fri- HST
Sat- Energy Sprint (first 55 min.)

Maggie, I forgot, how many kids do you have, 4 or 5? You have the most of all of us I think.

PS- I was reading the thread in Ask Cathe on volume being too low. I hope not! What do you all think?

Hi ladies! I only worked out a few times... just too many things to do. :( I did complete half of Kick Max last week... loved it! I actually just completed the entire workout... I believe Cathe says you legs will be screaming tomorrow... mine did during the workout. :) My shoulder and arm are hurting... I am going to the chiroprator today and hope it gets fixed. I don't know how I will get through those Gym Style workouts with the pain. I experienced some with KM.

Emy, I don't have any complaints with the music, but I don't think I pay much attention... too busy concentrating and sometimes praying I make it through the video. ;)

Happy Valentines Day mommies, babies, and toddlers! Oh, and daddies (or is it daddys) too!

Hi everyone!

I have 5 kids, but Briee tops us all with 6.

The music sounded low to me at first, but I played around with the DVD remote control and it sounds fine now.

I am loving these workouts!! I probably won't do any older Cathe workouts for a while while I get to know these ones.

Okay, my past week was:

Mon-ME
Tues-Step Blast/SJP cardio premix
Wed-HSTA
Thurs-REST
Fri-Rest--unintended, but was madly previewing everything
Sat-Low Max (very fun and very intense and knee friendly and I love the music)
Sun-Muscle Max-(I enjoyed this one alot and have some nice DOMS today. It's kind of an updated MIS.)

Today I did Low Max again, tomorrow I am planning to try High Step Challange, and Wednesday, IMAX 3. After my rest day, I'll try the Gym Style workouts and Kick Max.

I am determined to shed that last layer of fat. I am inspired!}( }( :7

take care
Maggie

Hi Fit moms. Emy so sorry to hear about your little guys face...ouch. Shopaholic....she isssss growing!!!

Great to hear from you Maggie. I want to get rid of a little fat on my tush too!! I've been doubling up on workouts primarily just to try these new DVD's!!

Mon. SJP 1,2 and challenge, Chest and Back P90X, Ab ripper
Tues. ImaxII, Heavy shoulders.
Wed. Imax III, GS Legs in the AM, at night I was going to preview Lomax, but then started doing it and finished it.....at the end I realized I had done the whole thing in jeans and barefeet...that was stupid, but isn't it amazing how distracted you can get when you are mentally trying to learn something!!!

Thurs. GS Back, shoulders, biceps, Coremax I, Hard. Extreme (I think #2)
Fri. Hardcore extreme (I think #3), GS chest/triceps in part and then did my own heavy chest/tricep stuff
Sat. P90X Shoulders and Arms, Coremax II, Hardcore extreme at night

I guess I like the intensity in IMAX III, KM intensity blasts, and HE the most. I LOVE all the jack type moves (jacks straddling the step up and down), tuck jumps, airbornes yippee!!! Yes the sound is low...but I haven't tried to play with it yet...hope it helps.

Have a great week everyone.

Briee

One more thing...thanks for posting shopaholic....I thought our fit moms might be fading...don't want that to happen!!! I'll try to check more often through all this house mess.

Briee

Hi all,
I do find the music lower on the hardcore dvds and crank up the volume on my tv but so far I am really enjoying them. Imax 3 is definely my new favorite.

Emy, glad the signing is working for Max. He will get words in his own time. What amazes me is how much they already understand. Yesterday, I told Alexis we need to fix her ponytales and she started rubbing her hand through her hair. unfortunately, Alexis had a bug last week, it started and is ending with a cold and she had one day of fever. She was too out of it on Tues for it just to be teething.

Briee, it still amazes me that you have 6 children!
I finally discussed having a 2nd with hubby , he too would like a second but wants to get on a little more finacial ground firt. For me, 2 is the maximum.

Hi Fit Moms!
It's been a few weeks since I last posted but I had to today because I'm excited to say I can fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans! I grabbed a random pair and was able to get them buttoned and zipped. I had been stuck at 9lbs to my goal for a long time and finally about 3 weeks ago I decided to watch what I eat a little more closely using Weight Watchers points. I'm also working out in the mornings now like I used to before Nora was born. She seems quite happy to sit in her bouncy sit and watch me sweat! I have about 5lbs more to go but it's good to be in jeans again.

Cathe's gym-style legs and chest/triceps have left me sore this week (my hamstrings are screaming!). I'll do the back/biceps/shoulders one tomorrow. I haven't worked up the courage to tackle Imax3 yet! But Muscle Max, Low Max and Kick Max I've done and I do like them. I did notice that I could hear them stepping when I previewed but I keep the volume low anyway when I workout so the sound issues haven't bothered me.

Shopaholic - My husband has been a bit unsure about having #2 as well, mainly because of the pain I had during the last 4 months of my pregnancy (back and feet) but he's had a change of heart. I told him I only wanted one more and that the pain was worth it! We'll see...

I hope the fit moms posts don't fade, either! I'll try my best to post a little more often. Nora is 5 months old, almost 6, and this age is just so much fun!

Congratulations, Diana, on fitting into your jeans. That is exciting.

Briee, I forgot that you had 6 kids. That only means that you haven't been around enough lately, or I wouldn't have forgotten. I like to think that I have a good memory. Oh yeah, but I'm pregnant, so that kinda makes me brain dead. Example, I normally am an avid reader, but when I'm pregnant I can't pay attention to get through a book. Wonder why that is...

Max really seems like he has been growing, but when weighed, he is only 26 pounds (and is 17.5 months). I think he is taller and leaner now. How much do the other boys weigh?

dcat,
I remember trying on my clothes every week after I had Alexis waiting for the week they fit again. Congrats! I had an easy pregnancy and delivery but our concern over having a second is financial.

Diana, hello and congrats on the jeans fitting:7 :7

Emy-Bardric weighs about 25 lbs now and has dipped to about the 40th percentile for weight. He is extremely active, so he burns a lot of calories, I am thinking. By the way, when are you due?

take care, Maggie

Maggie, I am due July 10th.

So far I have done Low Max and Muscle Max. I loved Low Max, and am so glad Cathe made it. It is probably harder for me since I am preg, I wonder if I would love it so much if I weren't. I'll have to wait and see. Today I plan to do Kick Max. What workouts do you guys love so far?
