Melanie - I don't actually remember everything when I write these emails. I simply open up a second window of Explorer and re-read the previous posts while I type. I wish my memory was so good..........
Adrienne - I moved to the 6" step sometime in my first trimester because I was getting too winded. It's a great way to modify your workouts. There have been days when I wish I could use only the 4" step top, but I need a set of risers to keep my step from sliding around on my carpet. Don't feel bad about having to modify. You're listening to your body, and that's what will keep you consistent in the long run. How is the PF?
Kristan - another week bites the dust. You're getting close to the end!
MSJ - we moved 4000km away from all family 11 years ago. I found it great until we had our first DD, then I began to miss all the perks that go with having family around to help look after children. Don't feel like a loser for lowering your step height!!! Making more and more modifications is par for the course with pregnancy! I lowered my weights for the lower body by almost half when I came off of 9 weeks of bedrest, around my 20th week. My lower back just gets waaaaay too fatigued with my previous weight loads. Seems safer to just do what I can and accept that my body needs extra TLC these days.
Wendybdh - Here's a shout out to you!!! I'm glad to see that you're continuing to exercise. I take it you convinced both DH and your doctor that the BH aren't anything to worry about? Only a few more weeks and we will be swapping pictures of babies instead of pregnancy tests LOL!!!
GraceNote - the GD test experience sounded awful for you!! I hope it came back negative? I agree that posting here definitely helps motivate on days when imitating a potato appears more appealing. I've had to use every mental trick in the book to get myself going this week. Nope, I didn't graduate this week, obviously. Maybe this week, maybe next.....How did DH's surgery go? Is he milking it for all he's worth? Men are so bizarre when it comes to illness. When my husband gets a simple cold he climbs into bed and acts like he's gotten some exotic, incurable disease. I can't say that I'm terribly sympathetic to him....
Monica - you're ticker is going to flip over to 30 weeks in just a few more days. I found that to be a milestone. In both my pregnancies I put on 8lbs in one month, somewhere around the 5th month, I think. It's just what our bodies do, I guess.
Kristi (who probably isn't reading this right now!!) - I can't wait to hear the details of the birth! And I am beyond green with envy, as I sit here with my big belly and braxton hicks!!!
Dana - only 22 pounds??? Okay, now I'm REALLY jealous!! I've gained 40 pounds, same as my first pregnancy. I haven't put on any weight in the past month, though, which I guess is quite normal for the final month.
I'm officially one week away from my due date and going stir crazy with boredom and impatience. I have plenty of things I could be doing to help pass the time, but they require more physical energy than I have to give right now. I've been getting intermittent contractions and cramping for short periods of time, almost every day for the past week or two. It's like they're teasing me. With DD#1 I had zero signs of labour until my water broke, so I wasn't put through this emotional roller coaster. For those of you who have been through this 4 or 5 times already, HOW DO YOU GET THROUGH THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS???
Have a great week everyone!
Sandra
