Hi everyone!

Wow Sandra you had an awesome week. Mine was crappy. :( I either have allergies or a really bad cold and I feel so bad. I"m coughing so bad that I could just fall over. Does anyone know if this could be harming the baby? I finally broke down and bought Robitussin since it was on the list of allowable medicines although I feel so guilty taking anything while pregnant. Anyway, here is my pitiful week of workouts (or lack of).

Sun: none
Mon: none
Tuesday: walked 3.5 miles & Push Pull
Wed, Thurs, Fri: walked 3.5 miles
Sat: none

Melanie - I'm so impressed with your workouts! When you do the IMAXs, are you doing them full-force, or modifying? We're always being told we shouldn't go anaerobic while pregnant; do you remain aerobic during the blasts?

Dana - For someone's who's feeling so badly, you're doing a lot of walking!! Wow! I don't want to say this to alarm you, but a woman on the TCYOF boards had her membranes start to leak, and she attributed it to a severe cough. She was on bedrest, and it looked like things were healing just fine, but she strongly encouraged anyone who has a really bad cough to take Robitusson. If it's on the list of allowable medicines, then I would say go for it. Who knows if that woman was correct in blaming her cough for the membrane tear, but if Robitusson is safe, then I would say take it. It also wouldn't hurt to phone your doctor and explain the situation to her/him; ask about the potential harm to the pregnancy if you don't take the medicine.

Hmmmmm. Still no Wendy. She seems to be MIA. Very interesting.........

Sandra I think that if I don't start feeling better by tomorrow that I'm going to call the doctor - just for peace of mind. I keep gargling w/salt water and that seems to help. I did take some Robitussin this a.m. What I find very strange is that when I am up and moving around I don't cough hardly at all. (which is why I keep on walking).

Yeppers, it does seem like Wendy is MIA - hopefully we'll hear from her soon. :)

Hi ladies and goodmorning!

Well my week was decent:

Monday: Legs & Glutes 55 min (I think)

Tuesday: Low Max step portion 45 min

Thursday: my own arm workout 30 min while watching ER, wink

Friday: I left for my churches annual women's Bible retreat

Saturday: briskly walked about 2 miles

Sunday: walked .5 mile before breakfast - then came home to see my men!

All in all a good week. I pulled out L&G for the first time in months and really enjoyed it, found it easy to modify including the floor work and felt good DOMS the next day.

That's me - hum Wendy still AWAL huh? must have been a baby weekend! I hope!!! :)

My week:
Monday- gym, easy cardio, read magazines
Tuesday- nothing
Wednesday- Timesaver #1, CoreMax #3
Thursday- ate fried chicken at SIL's house
Friday- Timesaver #3
Saturday- short walk, followed by "Flea Max" whereby I discovered cat infested with fleas- went to vet, got stuff for all three cats (dogs already protected), vacuumed entire house (all 4 stories)- YUCK!
Sunday- Timersaver #5

This week is C+W and IMAX 2 week.

I'm very impressed with everyone's weeks!

Hi Ladies--

I hope you don't mind if I join in. I post on the fit mom's thread a lot and now I'm expecting again:7.

I am only 6 weeks along and feeling tired and pretty sick. I have been sicker in past pregnancies, but still I feel pretty crappy.x(

My big challenge this pregnancy is that I am really trying to not gain as much weight as I have in the past. I just got done losing a bunch of weight after our last baby. (Went from a size 18 to a 6) and I don't want to have to do that again.

I am really watching what's going into my mouth and not following every craving and impulse like I have in the past, but I've still gained somewhere between 2 and 5 lbs, depending on the day. I'm bummed because I'm really trying this time.

My workouts last week
Mon-HCX #1
Tues-LowMax
Wed-GS BSB/CT timesavers
THurs-30 min stationary bike
Fri-BC/ME bonus premix
Sat-Step Blast

take care everyone!
Maggie
due 1-8-06 w/#6

Fiddlefit, My I only did Imax intervals 1-7. Last pregnancy I tried to continue with an interval workout once weekly. I am VERY careful not to become anaerobic. If anything, I've become very good at modify-ing cathe's workout during last pregnancy. I was a little bummed I couldn't get thru the entire workout...but then I remembered last time I often broke them up into intervals 1-5 & 6-10. Then if you're feeling real ambitious you could add on an ab or strength training. With DVDs I possibilities are endless!!!!

Maggie, WOW!!! You must not be feeling THAT bad if you were able to do all that! That's more than I do in my nonpregnancy state!!! BTW, I think I"ve gained about 5 lbs or so already. Right at the beginning. It happened last time too. With all the nausea & heartburn it's only inevitable for me. I was real careful to keep up with workouts (still did only 4 or so a week). I aimed to gain 25 lbs, but ended up gaining closer to 37 or so lbs. I did lose it all within a few weeks. I can totally see your concern though. You worked so hard to lose all the weight!!! Aim low on your weight gain, and give yourself some slack if you gain a little bit more than that. We have a long way to go... Let's enjoy a worry-free journey!!!

Hi Maggie! Congrats on your pregnancy! How old is your child? My son is 3 and we are so excited for him to have a little sister or brother. Well your workouts look great! I really went down hill in fatigue in the weeks 6-8. So if you could do that, you are doing pretty good! I'm so busy that 4 workouts seem to be my max, but my personal goal is 5 - but haven't achieved it yet LOL! Anyway congrats!

Wow! Everyone is doing so great with the workouts, excluding myself!

Dana, I hope you start feeling better soon.

Maggie, congrats on baby #6! How do you find time with 5 kids?

My workouts sucked again. This is becoming a trend. Last Tuesday I only got to get in a weight training workout on my own by lifting 2 sets per muscle group.

My allergies/sinuses are still giving me major problems. This morning I had to call the dr's office because I can barely breathe and I now have some kind of itchy rash/possible poison ivy on my neck. I have no clue how it got there. There has got to be something I can take that will actually work. Sudafed is not cutting it at all with my allergies. I just finished talking with the nurse. She said I can now take Benadryl both orally and use the cream for the rash/possible poison ivy. Keep your fingers crossed that it will hopefully work.

So far this week I've got my hopes up to increase my workouts. Last night I was able to get in BC Upper & Lower body premix. DH is out of town in AL all this week and then he will come home Friday night only to fly out at 11 a.m. Sunday to FL. He is trying to make a trip to all of the hotels before the baby arrives. Needless to say it is quite chaotic at my house and will be until he is finished in August. Maybe I can have DS cooperate with me like he did last night so I can workout out again. I've been trying to get DS to bed a little bit earlier since he hasn't been feeling well either, my guess allery related as well. At night he is up a lot coughing. I guess we will have to wait and see what this week has in store for us.

Have a great week!

>Hi Maggie! Congrats on your pregnancy! How old is your
>child? ...........> WOW you have 5 already!!! Somehow I didn't see that! How old are you children? Good for you having six! My grandma did it and I think she is a saint! After having one I just can't imagine! Hope the kids are letting you get your rest!

Hello!
Skipping over last week (2 w/o's all week) this week is starting off badly. I've had a 2 day migraine... Tylenol doesn't help, but I keep taking it anyway - thought maybe it might fool my brain :)

I'm going to take a trip to the 'local' YMCA tomorrow, if I feel better. I have to find a way to get workouts in when DH is out of town. They have Child Watch services some days. It's a 30 minute drive, though, on windy roads (think two puking kids in the back seat x( ) We'll see. There's a closer branch, but it's very small and has reduced hours. Maybe it will help with one or two days a week, though, and for that would be worth it. I love Cathe, but can only do a home workout when the kids are otherwise occupied. Here's hoping!

Gotta start looking for maternity clothes - my pants aren't going to fit comfortably much longer. It's so hard to get dressed for work these days. I have some great summer stuff, but it's too cold right now for them to be wearable. I just need that in between kind of thing - not quite maternity, but bigger than the usual size...

Hope you are all well!

Hi everyone!

I think that this thread is more active than when Melanie and I went through the first time

Melani--I feel pretty crappy, but I do feel better when I exercise. I don't know, endorphins or something. Also, I am modifying a lot of my jumping. And I've lowered some of my weights. Exercise is really the only time I can sort of forget how bad I feel. And like you, the 5 lbs, went on almost instantly (in the first week I knew I was pregnant). I usually gain about 15 lbs in the first trimester, so my goal is to gain hopefully just this 5, but anything less than 15 would be an accomplishment for me.

Gracenote--"kids puking in the backseat" LOL. I know its not really funny, but if you knew what the back of our minivan has seen...hoo boy...

Julie--the ages of our children are ds 10.5, dd 8.5, dd 6, ds 3.5, ds 20 months. The older kids or daddy help watch the others while I work out. I'm getting my workouts and my rest, because the house is a wreck right now. Not much motivation to cook or clean, but it's always that way during the first trimester.

Kristi--I hope you and your husband's allergies get better. I hope the doctor can give you something effective that you can take during pregnancy. It's a hard time to not feel well, because so many medications are bad for the baby.

take care everyone
Maggie
