Moms 2 Be Check-in: June 19/05

Cathlete
Hi! I thought I'd post my week tonight, since we're heading out to the mountains first thing in the morning on Sunday.

MON: Low Max
TUES: Viper
WEDS: KPC/LG Premix (combos circuited with standing leg work - 61mins); HSCircuit core work
THURS: SB/SJP personal premix (SJP step followed by SB challenge); ME Upper Body premix; HSCircuit abs add-on
FRI: my personal "Classics Combo" from the Classics dvd: SJ w/u; SM combo 1; SJ combo 2; SH combo 2; SM c/d & stretch. 54 minutes and lots of fun!
SAT: Step & Intervals; Muscle Max (no core); BS abs add-on
SUN: rest (going to Jasper for the day!!)

I hope everyone had a good week! I just spent 30 minutes sitting on the couch, with my video camera trained on my stomach. I got some great footage of boppity-bops from the baby. Heh heh. Who would have thought that 30 minutes of staring at my shirt could be so interesting??

Cheers,
Sandra

Hi everyone!

I just hit week 12, and I am still battling morning sickness, but not nearly as often as weeks 5-10. At this point, I'll take what I can get. :)

This past week, my workouts were:
Sun: 5 mile run

Mon: Push/Pull

Tue: Stationary bike - 16 miles, medium resistance

Wed: 1 mile walk (1/2 mile to and from train station) - I worked a long day, so I didn't do anything else.

Thu: High Step Challenge - 51 minute Timesaver

Fri: Crunch Yoga Mama - 1st time trying it. I think it will be great to do later in my pregnancy.

Sat: MIC Hi/Lo section (with modifications where necessary, my sore chest just can't deal with the constant high impact, even with a great sports bra) and SJP hi/lo add-on

Sandra - I can't believe you can still do Viper! You, and everyone else on here, are my inspirations to get up off my rear end and work out. :)

Gracenote - I hope you had a much easier week with the kids, and that the m/s has gone away entirely!

To everyone else - I hope your week was great, and I look forward to reading about it.

Baby #1 due 12/30/05

Hi there! Not too much happening here. I am feeling better than I was, but still having several nauseated days. I'm much more tired than normal too.
Some happy notes: I had my 14 week check up (and 1st visit with ob) and I heard baby's heartbeat. That's fun. Also I've been beginning to feel a little bit of movement in the belly. It's so funny, b/c I've always thought it felt like gas bubbles until baby gets stronger. Anyway, that is by far my most favorite thing about pregnancy (movement).

Sun: 4 mi run
Mon: off
Tue: Low Max 4-7, PS Triceps, Biceps & Abs
Wed: 4 mi run
Thurs: Low Max 1-4 + (mowed 1/4 acre lawn)
Fri: off
Sat: off (worked 10.5 hr shift)

Gotta go! Happy Dad's Day to all the Daddys!!!

Hi Ladies!

Sandra--great workouts. How are you doing abs at this point? Are you on your back or modifying somehow. I always neglect my abs during pregnancy, because I'm not sure what to do...

Adrienne--glad to hear you are feeling better. At 11 weeks I am feeling better also, although I have my bad days.

Melani--glad to hear you heard the heartbeat. I have been reluctant to make an appointment, because I always have this fear that the baby will have died and I will not have known it and I don't want to find that out at the doctor's office where I will be reduced to tears and have to drive home hysterical.

My workout week
Mon-SH chest, IMAX 2 1-5
Tues-SH back, IMAX 2 6-10
Wed-HSTA legs/cardio premix, MM legs
Thurs-SH shoulders, Body Fusion cardio
Fri-GS/SH biceps hybrid, Lowmax 4-7
Sat-SH triceps, Power Max w/u and sections 1 and 2
Sun-REST:p

My strength is back to pre-pregnancy levels, which has me happy and I have a lot more energy during cardio.

My total weight gain--10 lbs, ugh, but normal for me.

I suppose I should make a doctor's appoinment soon.

Maggie

Hi ladies. Everyone looks to have had a great week! :)

I didn't get in as many workouts as I would've liked to, but I still got some decent workouts done.

Sun, Mon: nothing
Tuesday: Push/Pull, walked 1 mile
Wednesday: KickMax warm up, kicking drills and stretch and abs from MIS; walked one mile
Thursday: total body weights (did the pregnancy weight workout in June's issue of Oxygen, took about 50 minutes)
Friday: walked 1 mile
Sat: nothing (except for cleaning)

Hello Ladies! It looks like everyone is doing great.

Here are my workouts for last week:
Sunday - 40 min. walk
Monday - L&G ankle wt. premix & pushmowed lawn (1 hr.)
Tuesday - PUB up only, it was DH & my wedding anniversary
Wednesday - PLB up only
Thursday - rest
Friday - rest
Saturday - no formal workout, however I did take DS swimming.

By the end of last week I had to slack off because of my sinus/allergy problems coming back full force due to the cool front that came through. Hopefully this week will be productive workout wise too, but so far I'm feeling pretty rough. However, tomorrow the hot and humid weather returns. I'm hoping that with its return it will make my sinus problems disappear like it did before. However the temperatures are supposed to be pretty hot, in the 90s. By Sunday the weatherman is projecting a high of 97.

On a bright note, today is DS's 3rd birthday. We celebrated it this weekend with my inlaws because DH is flying out to Los Angeles today after work and we won't get to see him until Thursday night. Also, my next doctor's appointment is Thursday. I have to do the glucose test again then too. Hopefully it will come back negative like it did at 10 weeks. Oh well, worse case scenario I will have to follow the special diet again with this pregnancy. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that I pass this time around.

Sandra, I can't believe that we are about to begin our third trimester, can you?

I hope everyone has a great week!

Here was my week:
Monday: run 2 miles, run up/down stairs too
Tuesday: nothing
Wednesday: StepJam, 10 minutes pilates
Thursday: gym for 40 minutes- cardio machines
Friday: w/u and step from SJP, upper body add on from Basic Step
Saturday: nothing
Sunday: Leaner Legs w/abs

Thanks again for keeping me on the ball. This board keeps me motivated.

We're heading out of town on vacation.

Kristan, due 11-1 with #3

Well, it wasn't a great week, but it was better than the last one. i felt better on Sunday and Monday, so I know there's hope! :)

Sunday - Power Circuit
Monday - Circuit Max
Tuesday - short walk at lunch
Wednesday - out with the girls all day running errands, then had a surprise dinner guest, so no workout, but lots of frantic cooking and cleaning :)
Thursday - worked late, got sick
Friday - nothing - sick
Saturday - 1 hour swimming with girls

I'm hoping that things are turning around soon - I am sick of being sick and am ready for that 2nd trimester boost of energy!! :)

DD#2 is finished with the antibiotic, but has been fussy, so we may be headed back to the dr. Then again, it could just be a phase. We haven't slept through a night in weeks, so everyone is a little tired and cranky. I know these things go in cycles, though, so it should be better soon. There's nothing like a little late night bonding with your children, right? :) I remind myself that they will be grown and gone and I will miss these days... Even when we're tired and even at two in the morning, they are still the best thing in my life...

Hope you are all having a good week. I can't believe how fast the month has gone! I'd better make some plans fast, or we won't be having a vacation this year. We may go to the Outer Banks in late summer, or Vermont for my college alumni weekend. Not sure, yet, but I'd better get off the fence and get SOMETHING planned before the summer is over!

Do you all have plans? Kristan, where are you headed for vacation?

Gracenote--I noticed that you are at 16 weeks and still sick. Did you have morning sickness for so long during your other pregnancies? What a bummer. I hope you feel better soon.

Maggie

I'm still too. Not everyday, not at least a couple days/week. I actually threw up yesterday. I thought it'd just be a 1st trimester thing. I don't remember it hanging on so long... Oh well. The smell of Lysol in my bathroom sent me to the kitchen garbage can with a vomiting spell. Urgh!!!!!!!

Maggie - I think I was sick until about 20 weeks or so, before. The nausea seems to be getting a little better, but Monday I got another migraine, so it's a day-to-day thing.

Melanie - I'm smiling with you (better to laugh than cry, right?) because I had just such a moment over a poopy diaper. I've changed them for the past three years and never had a problem - all of a sudden, I couldn't stand the smell and started gagging, which set off a chain reaction since I was already nauseated... Oh well! When I went flying across the room (in front of the t.v.) towards the bathroom, at least DH finally noticed that maybe I'm not my usual perky self! :)

I'm online tonight to order a double jogging stroller so we can take family walks. The baby bjorn just isn't doing it - too hot and DD#2 is too heavy to carry around the "country block" (it's almost 4 miles and all hills) hopefully the stroller will come in ASAP - when I can't do the impact thing, we'll at least have the option. Plus, the dog is getting too fat for her own good. She's a daschound and their backs can't take too much extra poundage.
