Moms 2 Be Check in: July 3, 2005

FiddleFit

Cathlete
Hi! Before I head out the door to go grocery shopping, I thought I'd post my week:

MON: LowMax
TUES: KPC Premix #4 (intermediate drills and combos 1&2); PUB
WEDS: Still Steppin'
THURS: High Step Circuit; PLB standing legs
FRI: Step Heat
SAT: CW step-only premix; Push Pull
SUN: Rest

I'm feeling very easily exhausted these days; my energy levels have waned. I have to pace myself slower to get through all my "to do" list for the day. And I have heartburn on occasion. But that's about my only pregancy complaint so far. Thus far I don't have any bloating or achiness anywhere, so I'm happy about that.

I hope you all had a good week. Happy 4th of July to the Americans!!

Sandra

Good morning and Happy Fourth! Well not much to report here. We got back on monday from our 9 day trip to San Antonio and I think I wore myself out on that trip. DH and his siblings and I went out several times out quite late to get nachos and other goodies... makes me happy even now to think of it :) . But I think that and being on the go so much on the trip just hit me this week. I got in only two workouts, but that is something and my weight gain is going great so I don't feel to bad:

Tuesday: standing and floor work of L&G and standing work in KM = 40 min

Friday: PUB/PLB bonus section - 55 min

So that's it for me, looking forward to a beter week!

MON: swim 1/2 mile, lots of walking
TUES: nothing- drive back from Florida
Wed: Cardio + Weights, entire workout
Thurs: 40 minutes at gym, mostly cardio
FRI: walk 3.5 miles, pushing stroller
SAT: swim 1/2 mile (also pull weeds)
SUN: StepWorks w/u, Section 1 + 2, Crunch Joy of Yoga

i hadn't done StepWorks in a while. Not at bad as I thought it would be.

have a good week. I need to re-focus on work and home improvement following vacation and 4th of July.

I didn't have too good of a week. I"m easily tired these days (the awful heat doesn't help either). I have heartburn constantly too. And when I try to take a walk I get sharp pains so I've been taking it easy. Here's all that I got in this week:

Tues: Push Pull
Wed: walked 1 mile and did 200 walking lunges (I had DOMS for 2 days!)
Thurs: walked 1/2 mile (had to stop b/c of the pain)

I cleaned house on Sat & Sun, took my son to an amusement park on Sat and did a lot of walking - so I kept busy!

Have a great week everyone!

Dana- I could have written the same thing. I too get terrible heartburn (2 Zantac a day isn't even coming close to controlling it) and it's hotter than heck here (as Julie can attest). I walked on Friday and had to stop half way because I got the same sharp pains. This is my 3rd pregnancy and i have NEVER had to physically limit myself until last friday. Fortunately, my walk had a 1/2 way point destination (I was dropping my girls off with a friend), so I rested for a few minutes and walked home just fine. In conclusion, I feel your pain, heat and heartburn! Kristan

Hello all,

I didn't have that great of a week either. I don't know if it was the heat or just the pregnancy, but I had very little energy. I managed just two workouts:

Monday: BC/ME premix
Tuesday: Step portion of SJP, Quick Fix Stability Ball abs

I visited the OB today and I have lost one pound. I haven't gained any weight at all yet, and I'm in week 14. The doctor didn't seem too concerned. I got to hear the heartbeat again.

Here's hoping we all have much more energy this week!

Whoo! The days are just flying by! Sorry I've been MIA - had to recert my aerobics cert, study for a midterm and then we hosted a family cookout for the 4th. In the meantime, DH was in the emergency room for a foot injury (nothing several days of rest and some vicodan won't cure :) )then had an emergency root canal two days later - he's on quite the roll! Work has been crazy - I mentioned the sale and layoffs? Well, this week, one of our remaining team members quit, so we have exactly 1/2 the # of people we had two months ago! And the work just keeps rolling in... Don't get me wrong - I love to be busy. It's just hard to keep up with everyone's deadlines. If I had been able to set them myself, I could have spaced some things out better, but as it is, I'm thinking this could get insane before the year is over! I guess it's a good thing I like what I do!

DH decided that we CAN do an outer banks vaca this year - late September is our favorite time, so there's still time to plan. I love the beach! My dream is to move there... Maybe one day! In the meantime, we try to squeeze a trip in once or twice a year. Something fun to look forward to, anyway!

Thanks for the jogging stroller tips - haven't gotten one, yet, but the search continues. We have to see, budgetwise, what we can afford - waiting for the final billing on DH's ER and dental crises...

I felt better last week, but was too busy to focus on working out - I FINALLY bought a barbell set. DH has one, but the bar, alone, weighs 30 pounds...yeah, like THAT'S gonna work! :) So, I got a set at Target for $60 with a 12 pound bar plus 100 pounds of weights. It's perfect for what I need right now. Anyway, here's the rundown:

Sunday - Step and Intervals
Monday - walk at work
Tuesday - Circuit Max
Wednesday - nothing
Thursday - Interval Max
Friday - worked late, exhausted with a 'return to nausea-land'
Saturday - shopping all day for picnic, basic walking and car-loading, with the occasional child-carrying (WHY won't they stay in the cart?!?!)

So, that's it. Not spectaclar, but I'm trying not to stress about that. I think I've gained less weight this time around than the others (yeah, at least so far - I'm guessing a few good trips to Bruesters could change that in a heartbeat!! :)) I actually lost a few pounds last week with all the running around. Have an appt on Fri. and u/s next week.

Hope you all had a great 4th - summer is really upon us now. Hard to believe it's going so fast!

Just a quick check-in & update. Had u/s today. Everything looks perfect. WE opted NOT to find out sex, although ob said hr was 140, "could be another boy". I don't have too much confidence in HR prediction. Anyway, we will deliver our baby via C-Section on Monday November 28th...right after Thanksgiving!!! Wow is this pregnancy going fast!!!!

Melanie - I'm so glad as is going well! Your right it is going fast! I should deliver about Nov 2!:7

Why Nov 2nd? Are you counting on an early delivery? Actually I was thinking that maybe I should have my Cseciton a couple days earlier b/c my last baby was delivered 9 days before due date & they scheduled this one 8 days prior to due date? I don't know. I don't want to go into labor AND have a CSection.

What have other repeat Csection ladies done? My first baby was vaginal delivery.

Hi everyone!

Melani--glad everything looked good at your ultrasound. That's a relief.

I am totally jealous of all of you that LOST weight last week. I ate like a pig on vacation, so I'm not going to stand on the scales to view the damage until I've been good for a few days.

It was an active vacation, however, so I am posting my workouts. Keep in mind that I did all of these hikes at a much higher elevation than I am used to and I did them carrying 30 LBS!!!(28 lbs of toddler+pack+h2o). And most of them were very uphill for the first half.

Sat-5 mile hike (round trip) to Cone Peak Meadows (gorgeous wildflowers of every color)
Sun-3 miles of walking at High Desert Museum and Lava Lands Visitor Center
Mon-7.5 mile hike(round trip) to Canyon Creek Meadows--the base of Three Fingered Jack--awsome hike, but eaten alive by mosquitos
Tues-6 mile hike (round trip) along the Metolius River
Wed-3 miles of walking-Lava Cast Forest and the Lava River Tube
Thurs-6 mile hike (round trip) to the South Matthieu Lake at the base of the North Sister
Friday-no workout, came home:-(

I always feel a little depressed when our vacation is over.

Also, I jammed my toe and it is all bruised and sore. I am thinking that Cathe cardio will be out of the question for a few days, but I will lift and ride the dreaded and boring stationary bicycle.

Glad to see that you are all doing well!

Maggie

Maggie, YOU ARE INCREDIBLE!!! I don't know how you could gain weight EVER with your workouts. Anyway, I"m pretty proud of my workouts this week, so I'll post them:

Sun: KickMax bootcamp premix
Mon: 5 mi run
Tue: off
Wed: 3 mi run
Thurs: off
Fri: Cardio Kicks
Sat: 5 mi walk ---it was in the mid-90s today, no way I could run even at 7pm!!!!

Weight wise I've gained about 10 lbs already, the good news is that I'm about 5 lbs lighter than I was at these time last pregnancy...so I'm happy. :D :D Hopefully the weight will shed off quickly as last time.

My clothes don't fit. I got some cute capris at Kohls & even had to buy a pair of shorts. I also HAD to get a new pair of sandles. ;) I LOVEEEEEEEEE shoes. ;)

Feeling good, I've had the week off of work & have had an opportunity to nap everyday this week. Monday's going to be tough for me!
