Hi,

The only thing I did last week was worry :-( I'm hoping the doc will give me the okay to resume light exercise later on this week, after my u/s on Wednesday. Exercise helps me deal with stress, so having to go through one of the most stressful times of my life without being able to exercise has been very difficult.

Have a good week, everyone,
Sandra

Well last week was busy but got in 3 good workouts:

Monday - Muscle Max (no abs)

Saturday - GSL and abs

Sunday - PUB and abs

Well seeing as I bled on sunday I guess I'm pushing it. So I'm now confused about what Cathe workouts to get what do you think:

Low Max or Basic and Body Fusion?

I'll have to get OK'd by the doc, but I am hoping low impact aerobics is ok. I'll have to stop the weights for a while, :-( , but I'll do anything for this baby.

Sunnydelite and FiddleFit what are you going to do or did do when resuming working out? Did your doc say it's ok to do weights again if you just lower the lb's? Geez I so don't want to push it. Can you tell I'm a worry wort?

I wouldn't call you a worrywart, Julie - I'd call you normal! :) I haven't yet been given the all-clear to resume exercise yet. Hopefully the doc will say okay when I see her on Wednesday, after my u/s. If she does, then I'm going to stick with the low-impact workouts, such as low-max, BS/BF, some Kristi Taylor's, and Cathe workouts modified to low-intensity (Step Blast premixes, SJP step portion, KPC, KickMax low-impact premix, Step Jam). I haven't gotten any exercise in 3 weeks, so I'm pretty sure I'll have to start off quite easy. Since spring is starting to reintroduce itself to us, I would also like to go for some brisk walks. For weight work I would like to make good use of Push Pull and SuperSets, and their premixes. I think the Body Blast series in general, with all those premixes of varied intensities, will be ideal for me right now, as long as I can get off this "bedrest" (aka "solitary confinement"!).

Cheers,
Sandra

Hi Everyone!
I felt much better last week and was able to resume some exercise.
Sun: off-leg swelling was still there
Mon: walk-20 min
Tues: Fit Mama-light cardio-20 min and 20 min yoga
Wed: off
Thurs: walk
Fri: Fit Mama-stretch
Sat: walk
Sun: walk

I am just taking it easy right now. I know that I will get back into the hardcore stuff I used to do, but not right now. I am just listening to my body. I am still working full-time and that is getting harder and harder to do at this point. I go to the dr's on Wed for my weekly appt, and I think that at that appt, they will check to see if I am dilated at all. I will check in with any new news later this week. Have a good one!

Due 3/31 or 4/1

Hi Jen (jaypea)!

So when do you plan on going out on maternity leave???

I am due on May 19th and I am about to advise my job that I intend to work through friday May 6th (unless the little one decides to come early, ofcourse!). After reading your post I am wondering if this is going to be alot tougher to do than I anticipate? My doc normally has people begin maternity leave one month prior to their due date but I just can't imagine being home all of that time just WAITING for that labor to start...I think I'd go insane! lol

Have a great work out!

Wendy-I am working on my due date (I know I am crazy). I have just enough sick days to carry me till the end of the school year as it is, but if I go early ,then so be it. Some days are easy-Monday was a great day, and I had a lot of energy. Today was tough and my nerves were shot by lunch. I have not had too much pain this week-it just depends on the day. I hate to sit and not move around, so I know where you are coming from when you said you don't want to take leave too early and just sit around and wait. That would drive me up a wall. Good luck!

16 more days!!!

Hi Jen!

Glad to hear you're still hanging in there. I too am finding it difficult now to do cardio after a full day of teaching, so I work out on the week-ends now. The toughest part for me is handling all the school stairs with a loaded knapsack (a workout in itself:p ).

I plan on working until a week and a half before my due date. People at work think it's unusual, but I'll go stir crazy at home just "waiting".

Here's my workout week:

Sun. Cathe Low Max
Sat. Cathe Muscle Max

Have a great week everyone!

I'm Back!

Well, I'm finally back from my Bahama cruise. Did anyone miss me? I had a good time, but now I need a few good nights sleep. I thought by now I should be getting more energy but it seems like I need even more sleep now. This pregnancy is already so different from my first. My nausea is almost gone except for maybe an hour in the morning, however, lately I have been experiencing quite a bit of dizziness off and on throughout the day.

Sorry I didn't check in early last week. Work had been and even now is so hectic that I barely had the time to go to lunch let alone check-in with you ladies. I've really missed everyone!

Not much to report as far as workouts are concerned. My exercise last week had been primarily walking a lot around the ship and marketplace shops in the Bahamas. I really want to do more formal exercise but my body doesn't seem to be cooperating lately. Fatigue is still getting the best of me right now and if that isn't the case then the dizziness sets in. Maybe with the beginning of spring soon I will be able to regain some energy.

It sounds like everyone is doing great! Keep up the good work! :)

Kristi

RE: I'm Back!

Hi Kristi! Great to see you back! And yes, I did miss you. At the end of another post, I even asked if anyone knew whether you'd already gone on your vacation or not. No one answered, so I guess no one knew for sure. It sounds like you had a wonderful vacation!

How's the numbness these days? Does it still happen?

Cheers!
Sandra

RE: I'm Back!

It is really great to be back. Over the years I have become more of a homebody so going somewhere to vacation is very rare. DH and I would rather just do things around the house or use the money we would vacation with to buy those big extra things or things for the house.

I'm happy to report that my numbness has not occurred in a while. Thank goodness. It is a scary feeling when it is happening. Hopefully these episodes will remain rare in frequency.

Wendy, you are quickly approaching your due date. You must be so excited!

Sandra, how is bed rest going? It must be hard to want to exercise but not be able to, but the little miracle you are carrying is definitely reason enough.

Well, I need to pretend that I am working. Talk to you ladies later!

Excited, definately!!!!:7 Also pretty nervous! Not SCARED yet though...but I'm sure I will be at some point...fear of the unknown, ya know?

That made me laugh! Thanks. :+

RE: I'm Back!

Hi Kristi,

The bed rest is going okay, I guess. I wasn't expecting to be told to remain this inactive for an entire 10-12 weeks, so I'm having a hard time adjusting to that. But I know the baby is doing well, so I'm not going to complain. I can feel her move, too, which always makes me smile. And I'm finally making real progress on my cross-stitch! Next week I may pull out a quilt I started 2 years ago and get it finished. I also have a baby quilt that I want to make, so it's possible I might even get that finished by time the baby is born.

I started having light bleeding/spotting of brown blood a week ago. It starts every night between 3-5am, and stops by noon. It's happened every night the past week, except for last night. I haven't had any bleeding in about 24 hours. I'm actually bummed about that! I know there's lots of blood still in there, and I really wish it would just get out! The pool of blood is between the uterine wall and amniotic sac membrane, at the top of my uterus. I'm wondering if it's taking it's time coming out because of the large amniotic sac blocking its exit. Just my speculation. I've got too much time on my hands - I keep thinking about everything too much!!

I'm glad you had a great vacation, Kristi! And I hope you get caught up at work and on your sleep really soon!

Cheers!
Sandra

Bad News to Share

As soon as I came back from vacation I received from heartbreaking news about 2 families.

My SIL's ultrasound did not go well. The baby does not have a heartbeat. Needless to say she is very upset. The main thing that I would find comforting is that even though this in-vitro was not completely successful and they won't be going through another one, they do still have 2 beautiful boys to find joy in.

The other horrible news is my Office Manager's niece was due to have a C-section on Tuesday, but on that Monday the baby died because the baby was breach and the cord wrapped around its neck. I can't imagine how incredibly heartbreaking this must be for this family. To be so close to bringing home your little one and then having to bury him/her.

I'm sorry to be sharing such sad stories. Please keep both of these families in your prayers.

RE: Bad News to Share

My goodness, how awful! Both stories are so sad but the breech is absolutely HORRIFYING! I got chills reading that...I just can not imagine...

Don't feel bad for posting these. That's what this board is for...

My thoughts and prayers are with both families for sure!

Have a great work out!

RE: Bad News to Share

Oh my heavens, Kristi, that is so sad!!! I'm very sorry that your SIL's pregnancy wasn't viable :-(

The situation with the breach baby is horrific!!! I can't even fathom how a family can get through something like that. They must be devastated. Are breach babies at a higher risk of having the cord wrap around the neck? This is just so terribly, terribly sad.

Take care,
Sandra
