Hi Y'all:)

Guess where I am? Ohhhhhhhh....at work again.I can't beleive how much these girls call in sick.I have never had a job yet where I have taken advantage of my sick leave. The last time I took a sick day was 7 yrs ago and I was on the job training then.Thankfully, I am never sick but I certainly don't have the nerve to call in and saw that I am...what I am not.I am not a very good liar:eek: Anyway,I didn't want to pass up the extra money at this time of year so I came in.I was suppose to work at DH's store tonight but he said he would do it for me...the advantages of sleeping with the boss:) :7 :7 :7

Anyway, I got a 60 min run in last night and that was it.I was hoping to get a awesome workout in today but that doesn't look like it will be happening now.
Poor DD as been spending alot of time at the babysitters.DH is at work non stop which is to be expected. So I have DH checking to see how much a pair of ski's would cost for both of us.I would like to start skiing and I think it would be a great way for DD and I to spend more time together. And I can kill to birds with one stone, workout and spend time with her.

Whats on everyones agenda today? I am hoping today will pass by rather quickly. And I am going to make some wiser decisions when it comes to my eating.Maybe I will have a nice big salad for dinner OR soup.Either way...gotta be more balanced then oatmeal, pancakes and a muffin.

Hope everyone as a good day,
Lori:)

Good morning Lori and all who follow,

My day started out very badly and now I'm depressed. I got word this morning that my uncle (my God father) passed away about 4:00 this morning. We just buried a beloved aunt in October. This makes 5 deaths in my family over the past 2 1/2 years starting with my mom. We have a close family and they are disappearing at a rapid rate. I had 12 aunts and uncles on my mom's side and I'm down to 4 now.

I was planning to send my uncle a big basket of goodies for Christmas like I do every year. I haven't talked to him since my aunts' funeral in October and now I feel really badly that I haven't called him. He was a wonderful, warm and kind man and I'm really going to miss him.

Oh, I need to go now. I'll catch up with you all later.

Michele

Aaawww Michele. That's tough. You poor thing. You have so much sadness around you right now...and to have it all happen around the holidays. :-(

Do something theraputic for yourself! Take a hot bath surrounded by candles with a glass (or a BOTTLE!LOL) of wine and some candles...and a book too-if you know how to read in tub! I could never figure out how to do that w/o getting the book wet. :p

Lori,

Jeesh you are a busy woman.
You sound like my mom with the calling out sick thing. It is extremely rare for her to call out sick as well.
I, on the other hand, used to take full advantage of my sick time!:p If I got 5 days a year, I'd use them all...if I got 8 days a year, I'd use them all! I rarely get sick either but I'd make sure I "developed" something every once in a while. Sometimes my conscience would bother me for a few minutes but I'd get over it and I NEVER got in any trouble! In fact, at my last job I think my boss KNEW I was faking most of the time but he didn't care! LOL :7

Michele, so sorry to hear of your loss. My mom is from a very big family as well and none of them have passed yet.The oldest is in her 80's now but I know that when they start to pass away, it will be the same situation as yours.I am closer to some more then others but all of them are very loveable and what to kiss and hug me everytime they see me.

Wendy- I think if I got into the habit of using up my sick days then I would do it to.The girl who called in sick, is the one who is sick alllllllllllll then time. She is usually moaning about something being wrong with her.I don't mind working overtime but they usually happen when I least expect it to.I won't mind when I get my cheque at the end of the month.I'd like to get 3-4 overtime shifts this month (before christmas week) man...that would be sweet.Im not afraid of a bit of work. One of my co-workers told me to use of my sick days b/c you can't carry them over into next year and you don't get any appreciation for not using them.

The one thing I like about getting called in , is I come in on my own time.I didn't get here until 9:30 and I will still get paid for the 90 min I wasn't here. The morning goes by so much faster when there are only 2 1/2 hours there.
Lori:)

Lori,

In your situation I don't know that I'd be so quick to call out for no reason...your job requires someone to cover your hours and I would feel bad about making someone else do my job like that. Glad you actually LIKE the o/t though. That's good! Where I worked I didn't have to worry about someone "covering" like that so it was all good.:+ At my last job we actually got PAID at the end of the year for unused sick time! I didn't care though...those "mental breaks" through out the year were more important to moi then the moulah! lol ;)

Yeah, it is a bit different here b/c only one women works a shift so there aren't lots of other people floating around.I would feel bad if I left someone in a bind.

I was wondering last night, what is Joey doing now? Is he crawling or sitting up or what? Whats he up to?
Lori:)

Joey is sitting up unassisted to a point but is still in real danger of falling over if he moves too far in one direction! LOL No crawling but he is trying crawl and roll back over once on his belly. He has strong legs and can support him self really well in a standing position when you hold him up. Wondering if he'll be one of those kids who says to heck with crawling and just goes right to walkin'! :)

You never know what they might do.Im sure before to long he will be walking around the coffee table.Atleast he can't get to the christmas tree yet and next year this time he will be able to understand "no,don't touch". Now...weather he listens or not is another story. hahaha:)
Lori:)

LOL Lori...believe it or not we are already using "NO" with him. Sometimes I think he gets it and sometimes not...Never too early to start teaching!:)

You gotta start sometime right? He might think his name in NO:7 :7 I think Cylde will appreciate you saying no to Joey from time to time.Cyldes thinking, my fur is not for pulling on !:)
Lori:)

I have to say NO to Clyde more than to Joey! Clyde doesn't flinch when Joey tugs on him! More often than not I am yelling at Clyde for OVER-DO'ing the affection on Joey! Clyde would give him a full-on bath if we let him! LOL It's quite cute though and Joey LOOKS for it!:+

Cylde loves him? Thats awesome. Chico our big dog..is loveable but he likes his own space as well and he is never all over you.He just likes a hig every now and then or a scratch. But charlie would spend all dayin your face, licking and loving every minute of it.He can't get close enough to you.And his whole body moves when he shakes his tail. When I get home in the evenings after working all day he even makes noises when you are touching him:) And when I am taking my coat off he is jumping on my back.Maybe Chico realizes that he is to big to jump on anyone, he would knock me right over!:)
Lori:)

>LOL Lori...believe it or not we are already using "NO" with
>him. Sometimes I think he gets it and sometimes not...Never
>too early to start teaching!:)

Wendy, that is exactly right! I know you may just be joking, but I believe in that PROFOUNDLY! And kids only raise to the standards we set for them. I have always tried to teach my kids just one step above their level to build those brain blocks and challenge them. They should always be learning, there is so much out there TO learn! :) It also makes them quick thinkers. I remember the first time Layne defied me, I mean in my face defiance! He was only 8 or 9 months and he was playing with an electrical socket and I told him sternly "NO" I set him next to his toys. He looked at me, gave me a dirty look, crawled back over the socket, looked me dead in the eye and started to go for it with his pointer. Oh man! He knew exactly what "no" was and he knew exactly what he was doing! Logan did the same thing with the cleaning stuff under the sink, and he was only 8 months. Dirty looks and fits as soon as he heard "no". They are so much smarter than we give them credit for, I swear! How old is Joey now?

Good Morning Ya'll!

Well today I get to hook up my new monitor, but still waiting for the tech to come sometime in the near future to replace video card, etc.

Yesterday I did PUB...what a long friggin' workout. I do extra's off the smith machine too so it takes me about 2-3 hours to do all of upper body. Now I am pleased to say I have DOMS just starting and I still have to do lower body today and abs.

Suppose to get a big snowstorm starting here on Thursday. Don't want it!!!!! Too many things coming up right now and it will just get in the way so I am stressing out over that right now.

Hope you all have a great day!

Charlotte~~
