Good Morning or Good Afternoon...:) :)

Im just getting out of bed and I think I had to much sleep.I feel like a zombie and the coffee isn't kicking in yet:eek:

I guess Missy is gone;( ;( ;( and I guess Wendy is at the gym.Marcia is getting ready for her par-tay! Charlottes gone to get blood sucked out of her arm and Susan is bloated from the bread she ate last night so shes still in bed;)
So that leaves, Sara, and Vilma...come out and talk to moi! Wake me up! Tell me something funny!!!!

The weather is nice here today and I think my running partner is gone for the weekend so I am thinking of going for a run outside today. Its a little wet and I am still trying to figure out how to download songs on my MP3 player, its just not working out for me;( ;( DH won a Ipod Nano the other day but I don't think he is in the mood to share! LOL I may have to steal it if he doesn't want to share.
Lori:)

Just me,myself and I?:-( O.k..well, I just did a 6 mile run and now I am going to do HST. I am feeling much better now that I got my body moving!
Lori:)

Good afternoon Lori!:)

I paid my dues at the gym today...25 min interval run and 25 min steady state on the bike. }( Tomorrow is a rest day...thank goodness!;) On Monday I start a week of the April 05 strength rotation...GS series intermixxed w/cardio...whoo! I'm looking forward to it after doing SS! :p

Today DH and I will be stopping at Kohl's to pick up a few things and then we are going to visit his cousin who lives about 10 mins from us. They said they need a Joey fix. LOL After that, I'm not sure what the plan is.

DH did NOT come w/me to the gym...BAD boy! He also did NOT do PUB like he was supposed too! REALLY BAD boy!x( I don't badger him though b/c I wouldn't want to be badgered either. I just ask, offer and remind...beyond that it's his decision, right? ;)

Okay, well I'm off to check the boards....TTYL!:*

Hey Girls!

In bed? Ha! I was up at the crack of dawn to let out the little puppy and then I ran (well, drove, actually) into town to get bagels and then I went on the group ride with my friends. There were only 3 of us but we had a great ride. We were only able to do 26.5 miles b/c one of the gals had a babysitter and had to get back. But our average was 16.4mph which was much better than my ride last weekend and not bad for so early in the year. In fact, not bad for later in the year if you ask me, hehehe. I can't tell you how much stronger I am on hills this year after finding Cathe. It's just made my legs so much stronger. And I've always lifted, so it's not like I'm new to lifting. It's Cathe!

I think I have to go pick up dog poop since it's finally dry outside. It's supposed to rain later, so I guess I better get going. Aren't you all envious??? I really wanted to go to Kohl's last night while we were in Ft. Collins, but DH's mom is trying to save money for her car, so I would have felt bad shopping. Darn! Maybe I'll go to TJ Max or Ross today since we have those here. I'm in the mood for a few new items of clothing. :)

Talk to you all later! I better go post a thank you to Cathe!

I keep meaning to ask you all this but I keep forgetting. You've talked about GS Legs before and that it's a killer workout. Is that the one? I think if it's that awesome I should have it! Where do you get that band and how much is it?

Hi Susan,
I'm soooo jealous about the dog poop part. Our weather's just not good enough for me to be out in, though the back yard REALLY needs it. I might melt...

Good for you on the group ride! That's a good average for sure. Are you all real similar in cycling strength? So much more fun to ride with others. I know I would like riding with you. Wish we were closer. I rode with a girlfriend on Thursday. It was windy and a bit rainy. We did some STEEP hills, short but hard. I was going 5 mph up one and 3 dogs ran out at me that I did not know. Border Collie types. I couldn't have outrun them if my life depended on it, except to go back down the hill. Fortunately, they just ran alongside and barked, then gave up as there was nothing to chase (at 5 mph, how fun is that?). It ended up being a good workout anyway for little over an hour, but only 12.5 miles or so due to the hills.

Tomorrow is a group ride. Hope the weather is better than it is today, but don't think that will happen :( I really am further behind this year than last year in the miles department. But yes, thanks to Cathe, I'm stronger cardio and legwise. This weather has just been a bear and usually every weekend is when the rain/snow/wind hits most regularly.

I started putting together the Bowflex yesterday and have that on my list to do today. I'm also trying to get a Tracfone working for my nephew. What a pain!

Just thought I'd pop in here and tell you how happy I am that you got to ride outside and did well too!

You guys all rock on this thread. Kudos for keeping it going!

Oh yeah, GS Legs is a good one. I really like the floorwork in that. I do have to say that I've been doing the Slim Series and her leg work is a real killer!

Hey Jeanette!

To answer your question from last week - DH said it took about an hour and a half to put our Bowflex together. Are you finished with it yet? :)

Thanks on the group ride. One of the gals is faster than I am and I always get depressed when I ride with her (even though I do enjoy it because she's a good friend of mine). But today was so great b/c the other gal and I are pretty much the same. I'm stronger on hills and she might be a little stronger on flats - some of them. At times she was behind me a bit and a couple of other times I swear I couldn't catch her back tire! But the big diff is that she can still carry on a conversation but not me! My heart rate just gets so high and talking is really not much of an option. But I'm used to that since that's how it's always been. I like riding with people who do all the talking and today was not a problem for them. :) I'm thinking of doing the MS 150 with them in August. Although if I do 75 miles one day I'm not sure I'll want to get back on my bike for another 75 the next! Have you done one? I know you've done that type of mileage back to back though (and your 100 mile centuries - maybe this will encourage me to do a century.

There's this HUGE Rottweiler on one of the routes I ride and one day that dog chased me into the street. Usually he doesn't hear me until I'm halfway past his house and he will chase me inside the fence. But if he sees me before that he runs out the driveway. He's a big boy, so I'm surprised he can move like that! I thought for sure the last time he chased me I was a gonner! :p

I'm glad you stopped in to say hi to us. We like that! Good luck with the weather tomorrow. I hope you get your ride in.

Hey, Susan!

Yep, I got the Bowflex put together, but let me tell you, it took longer than 1 1/2 hours! DH helped a little bit, but he went to ride 4 wheelers and shoot guns with our 2 sons this afternoon and they are still not back. We are really blessed with living in an area that is literally surrounded by miles and miles of public lands (Forest Service and BLM). We are right on the edge of forest and high desert so in the springtime, you head to the desert for sport. That's where I think they went today. I've been going thru the Bowflex book and hooking up the power rods to go along with the exercises. That way, I can be a know-it-all :p when DH goes to use it. No, not really. He's a little bit interested in getting in shape now so I don't want to do anything to discourage it. Now, if he would cut his beer consumption in half, I'm sure he'd drop some weight.

I've never done an MS ride, but to me most of this cycling (after you get acclimated to distance and seat time) is mental. Centuries are very mental. I don't even look at mileage on my computer at all. I just figure it's going to be a long day and pick a pace I can sustain. Riding with friends for sure makes it a lot funner, you're all in it together and there's something about the suffering and recovering that's addicting. Sometimes while climbing, I feel like I'm in my own little suffer zone, but when you're at the top, you recover so fast that the suffering doesn't even matter, it's all part of the experience. The more fit you are, the faster you recover. And you know the saying, "It doesn't get easier, you just get faster", so true as like you, I always like to push. I think you really should do the MS Ride. I've no doubt that you would finish well and satisfied.

Re: the Rottie, could you talk to the owners and let them know he is being a nuisance, not to mention dangerous? I have a fear of getting bit, but I really do not want to hit a dog and go down and hurt myself. I do carry Halt spray on the bike and have used it once. It was effective that time and stopped the dog pronto! Also, when dogs approach, I have to make sure in my mirror (I wear one that clips to my sunglasses, my most valuable piece of biking equipment) that no cars are coming from behind.

I hope I get to ride tomorrow too. If the weather's bad, may head out of town to visit one of my sisters for a BBQ.
