Good Morning!:)
I wanted to check in last night but my computer was down at home. I am not sure what is going on with it but this one at work is o.k. Hopefully DH will fix it when he gets up.
I did o.k yesterday. Could have been better. I just really have to get into the swing of things. It would probably be a bit easier if I had a friend who was in the same situation as I am but I don't.They are all happy with their weight and if I told someone I was on a diet, they would look at me like I had 10 heads.
I am working all day until 6:30. I want to workout but we are invited to a rehearsal party tonight. The thoughts of working out and having to do my hair again, is not appealing AT ALL! And I really don't want to go to this party either but if I don't,they will probably be calling my house.Sometimes I wish that people didn't like me.....of whats a girl to do? Im just so loveable!:) :) :)
I will check back later, I don't have a busy day so I will probably check in quiet often.
Lori:)

Hey Lori,

I didn;t do so good yesterday. My diet sucked and I didn't exercise. I had to go to school orientation and then eat with my mom. got home too late. I am starting the tanktop rotation so I will be doing MM upper only and abs today. I hope I can get this diet and exercise thing under control. And to top it all off the PT told me that I was losing my calf on the leg of my hurt foot. That really depressed me. I was kind of expecting it.

will checkin this afternoon when I get home from work.

Hi Kim,
I did the TTR one time and it was the best time my arms ever looked. I was thinking about doing it again. I am just so up in the air.I never know what I am at.
You know, eating clean and exercsing never use to be a problem for me. If anything I went extreme on the eating clean. My stomach must have shrunk b/c I can remeber when a couple of egg whites and a slice of toast would fill me up.I also use to worry when I was going to my in-laws for dinner b/c I was afraid of burgers and gravy! I then realized that life was to short, and I am now gone the other way.I still don't eat alot of trash but I pick alot

Hello :)

I actually did pretty well yesterday considering my lack of sleep and poor eating early in the day. I managed to do PUB and ended up with a 200 calorie deficit (according to fitday.com). I'm planning to do PLB today and a long walk w/ the dog - I may go for a bike ride too, we'll see how the day pans out. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up with workouts when classes start in a couple of weeks.

So far I'm down 1lb. and will measure again on 9/1.

Have a good day everyone :)

Good Morning.

Lori-I know how hard it can be to stay on track. I was doing my work outs religiously prior to this but my eating was all wrong and it was hindering my progress! I was actually eating too few calories lots of days or eating what was probably too many and alot of those cals were from junk! x( It's just too easy to be bad, isn't it!? ;)

I did good yesterday. My diet was quite healthy, my calories were where they needed to be and I did the required work out. Today I get to eat my full calorie requirement. :9 Still no junk though...

I will be doing a f/b weight work out (prob ss or pp), 20-30 mins cardio and abs today.

I am ecstatic over my results so far and can't weight to weigh and measure again next week! :7

TTYL!

Wendy,
Quick question. How do you find the time to workout? We have thought about having a baby and I haven't been on any kind of birth control in 4 yrs (DH as a low sperm count) and I often wonder how I would fit in my workouts. Do you workout while he is napping or do you wait for DH to get home so you can put in a good workout without having to worry about being interupted? When I use to babysit my neice I would try and workout when she would have her naps but the kid went on no sleep so as soon as I would start my "buns of steel" workout, she would wake.
Just wondering how you manage your time? Are you back to work now? I live in Canada and we get a full year off and I have even heard rumors of it turning into 2 yrs.
Lori:)

Hi Lori.

I work out during the day. DS is very well behaved...so much so I can hardly believe it at times! He usually has no problems being left to entertain himself while I work out and eventually he will fall off to sleep. Sometimes he'll get cranky so I stop to soothe him but I have almost always been able to complete my work outs. I feel very blessed. If DS were more of a handful I'd wait until DH got home to work out but since DS cooperates I don't have to. :)

I actually am not going back to work. I am going to be a SAHM for the first year atleast. I can't personally bear the thought of putting my infant into childcare. :-( I'm not saying it's a bad thing...it's just not for me.

When I do go back to work I want to find a job closer to where I live. I was commuting an average of an hour each way before to a job I eventually hated! x(

I had heard you guys get a year for maternity leave. That is awesome! The USA stinks for things like that! They are sooo stingy! x( I happened to want to leave my job anyway, but if I was in a better job that was closer to home and was given a year's maternity leave there is a good chance I would not have resigned!

Thats great, its so nice to have a good baby. For some reason, I wouldn't luck into that.Thats just the way things work out for me.;) I think when DH arrived home from work I would be passing him a baby when he walked through the door. I guess I could always plop a child in a stroller and go for a run.
I think you will be tempted to stay home longer then a year. Its so hard to leave them and go back to work.
Lori:)

Morning:)
This morning will be 2 sets PP upper and 15 min. leg/glute work with band. Probably 1 coremax section. Diet has been good. I usually have 1-2 cookies a day and try to keep them on a lower calorie ct(like a digestive). I find I need this otherwise, all I'm thinking about is sugar.
I remember when I had my kids, we had 16 weeks leave:-(
It's good times have changed, 4 months was definitely not enough that's why I stayed home after my 2nd one.
Have a great day.

Hi Everyone!

Eating has been pretty good, I had to resist another dessert last night. DH brought home Tiramisu, another favorite of mine! I was soo mad at him... I had one bite, and watched him eat the rest. I think he is testing my will power...Just finished Bodymax, I usually don't mind that workout, but not this morning. Just felt sluggish during it, but I finished it and feel great now!! I might do some lower body power hour later, depending how day goes.
Lori, I feel the same way about my diet, I seem to be one extreme or the other, I can't seem to strike that balance, if I ever figure it out, I'll let you know.
Kim, What did you do to your foot? I've never been sidetracked with an injury, but I bet the calf will bounce back quickly once your healed. And I bet no one but you will notice, your upper body will be so buff from the TTR!
Shannon, congratulations on the 1lb.! Is fitday hard to use? I logged on briefly once but didn't take the time to figure it out.
Hope everyone has a great day, talk to you later
~Carolyn~

Thanks Carolyn! Now I just need to keep it off, weekends tend to undo my progress x(

Fitday is really easy to use - sometimes I have to search for certain foods and that can get annoying but it holds onto the foods you've entered so that you can easily find foods that you eat often. It also lets you customize a food if it's not on the list, you just need to enter calories, fat, etc. I really like it because it breaks your diet down into percentages of fat, carbs, and protein, and you can get weekly reports that tally vitamin intake, calories burned vs. caloric intake, and you can set certain goals like 64 oz of water per day, etc. The only thing I don't like is the Activity list. It seems to be missing a lot of activities and it's too basic (It doesn't have step aerobics or kickboxing). It's definitely kept my snacking down though. You should give it another shot. Fitmom uses it too and she's had good results with it.

Hi ladies.

Carolyn-Yes, this is my 3rd attempt with FitDay I believe. LOL The first 2 times I allowed it to frustrate me and quit on it. This time I really put my mind to it and said that I was going to use it no matter what! So I set aside a few minutes before or after each meal to log what I've eaten. Another poster gave me a great idea...to enter in a meal you think you want to eat BEFORE you eat it so you can see the results it will have on your diet. This could help you avoid the wrong foods by seeing on the screen exactly what this food is going to do. I tried it and it works! I use it faithfully now. It's a great tool to help with diet! I am on a calorie staggering plan so fitday is REALLY helpful at keeping track of that.

Shannon-As far as the activity log goes, I have pretty much taken to creating my own work outs in the custom area and I like it a lot better. I use a HRM and want to log calories burned from that and not was FitDay suggests so the custom activities really come in handy for that.

My beef with FitDay is that if I look up a general food in thier list and compare it to what the package I have says, the results are undoubtedly pretty different in most cases so I tend to compare the 2 before I use FitDay's generic foods. Some stuff is fine but others are not so I create my own in those cases.

Hey Wendy, and Shannon, Thanks for the fitday info. That does sound perfect for watching what you eat. I get tons of good nutrition advice on this site, but honestly, I'm still really confused, you know when they say you should get 30% of this and 40%off that, well forget it, I wish I had the patience to sit down and figure it all out, but I know I won't. When I get online later I'm going to fitday and I'm going to give it a go.. Is it expensive? That's probably the only thing that will stop me from trying it. Wendy, your right, putting meals in before you eat them, is a good way to control it. It would probably stop me from a second helping or maybe even from sampling the fattening desserts that have been finding their way into my house the last couple of nights! Thanks again, Carolyn
