Yipee! I finally made it through a day sticking to my plan. Now, as long as I don't have any flat tires in front of grocery stores with bakeries, I should be just fine. Today:

B - fresh fruit salad, 2 slices toasted steel cut oat bread w/PB&J
L - turkey/bulgar wrap, carrots and tomatos, apple
D - large salad
S - fruit, whole wheat bread w/ PB

This afternoon I get a haircut. Then there is a meeting at church at 6. No time for a workout today, so it will be a rest day for this week. Have a great one.

Morning!

It's my birthday. Pish tosh on eating clean, I say!!!:p

B - oatmeal with banana, 1 piece toast with pb
S - apple, almonds
L - big salad with protein
S - cottage cheese and pineapple
D - triple layer chocolate cake with ice cream and a bag of chips;)

Happy b-day Shelley! Cake sounds WONDERFUL!

B: kashi go lean hot cereal, healthy choice sausage, coffee
S: ff yogurt, carrots
L: salad (spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, black beans, white kidney beans, dill, cilantro, chicken) w/ff raspberry vinagrette
S: 1 c fresh fruit, 1/2 c cottage cheese
D: porkchop, sauerkraut, 1/2 c mashed potatoes (made w/skim milk & lite butter), asparagus
S: 2 high fiber muffins

Have a healthy day all!

Heck, just save me the icing ! (just kidding)

I'm sticking to my skeletan plan with some variety for dinners.

basically:
B- smoothie: 2 c fruit, 1 c lt. soy milk, 1 TBSP gr.flax, 6 oz lt. tofu.
L- a serving of legumes (half a standard can) usualy made into a soup with lotsa veggies and about 2 c raw veggies.
S- 2 pieces of fruit
D- generally one serving of whole grain or (plant based) protein or both , lg green salad and another veg.

* I've been using the Mediterranean Vegan Kitchen for some inspiring dinner ideas. The recipes are higher in fat than I am used to. However there isn't much fat in the rest of my day except for the flax seed and my salad dressings which are home made with canola oil.

Happy Birthday, Shelley!
Today is the day to have your cake and eat it, too!!

Yesterday was good. Today will be too (positive thinking).

B - mixed cereal (go lean/fiber one) lf milk
S - Cottage cheese
L - Turkey sandwich, pear
S - protein bar
D - Spaghetti with chicken italian sausage & salad

I did lo max this morning. I think that will be it for the day.
I am really wanting to find time for yoga and can't quite seem to fit it in lately. Any ideas on yoga dvd's that are shorter than Bryan Kest's power yoga? If I could find a good 1/2 hour one I could do it along with a run.

Hi, ladies -
I'm getting tired of fixing food. Last night's dinner was a fiasco. For some weird reason, the rice wouldn't cook. Was steaming veggies in the same pot as the rice (I do it all the time), took the lid off to check - veggies were done, rice was not. Lost all the steam, put the lid back on, then the rice started to burn for lack of moisture. Ate the veggies, dumped most of the rice down the drain. It was after 8 pm, still hungry, broke out the PB toast. So much for a well-balanced, low fat, healthy meal.

Shelley, can I borrow your SO? I need somebody who can cook.

Today I will attempt:
B - steel cut oats with walnuts, apple, soy milk
L - probably a salad with beans; orange
D - heaven only knows. I'm afraid to try. Perhaps I will venture for the rice one more time.
Snacks - fruit. If I'm particularly starving, yogurt. Probably won't need the morning one.

Blah. If I didn't get so darned hungry, I'd probably just ignore food all together.

Don't lose heart, Shannon. Even good cooks have the occassional disaster. Sometimes no matter how the moons are lined up, your dinner just turns to dogfood.

Happy Birthday Shelley! Have a wonderful day!!

B=oatmeal, tea
L=salad
D=Lemon/garlic chicken, yams, green beans

:D :7 :D
