Hi, ladies -

PMS is hitting hard. I could eat a diet of pure chocolate right now. I had two mini Special Darks last night... that's not bad, is it? They were at the parents' house. I left quickly. If they were at my house, the entire bag would already be gone.

B - yogurt with flax, orange, soy milk
S - apple
L - big salad
S - homemade lf muffin
D - not entirely sure. Probably something with brown rice again. Olives, tomatoes....

Judy, help me out here. I need some creativity!

Two mini anything isn't going to do you any harm:) I had two PB kisses last night, so we're even;)

Today:

B - mixed cereal with soy milk and banana
S - apple and half a cinnamon raisin WW bagel with pb
L - pasta with spicy tomato sauce, orange, lf yogurt
S - steel cut oats with cinnamon and raisins
D - no clue:p

Workout is shoulders and a 3 (or maybe 4) mile run.

Hi Shannon and all to follow. Yesterday I was pretty depressed after hearing from the residence that there is currently no room for my DS. I dread the news, but expect to hear that we will lose our funding. If so, I don't know what the next step will be. HTH do you coordinate availability of funds with openings? Anyway, I'm really proud to say I didn't drown my sorrows in a binge. We did have a pretty unclean dinner and my portions were a tad on the large side, but after dinner when I really craved chocolate, I stopped after 2 Nestles treasures, which is a HUGE step forward for me. Today:

B - same as yesterday
L - same as yesterday
D - UNCLEAN (stand back-I warned you) Hamberger Helper Lasagna and salad (We have to scurry to get to church and set up for communion, so no time for clean eating)
S - grapes

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Shelley -
That's good to hear. I raided the boss' stash this morning when I walked in the door and had two Hershey's nuggets with almonds. :9

Robin -
Why do you expect to lose the funding? Can't they somehow put it in writing that the $$ will be available for DS within a certain amount of time? I sure hope everything works out!

Good Morning all:
Sorry to hear about your troubles, Robin, but congratulations on handling it well.

My food plan is a loose one today:

B - 1 egg & 2 whites, 1/2 bagel & 1/2 grapefruit
L - going out with coworkers will try for nice salad with grilled chicken or such.
S - apple, carrots
D - grilled chicken, steamed broccoli

I didn't do MM last night, I took a bike ride instead. So, yesterday turned out to be a cardio day. I will do MM tonight while hubby practices his keyboards.

Shannon, here in PA, the rule seems to be if you don't use it you lose it. Four years ago, when DS graduated from high school, we started this odessy. At that time there was a space at the residence we like. However, the county denied Tristan funding, saying he was not retarded. Four long and expensive years later, we have won the court battle forcing the county to provide service, but the state doesn't provide enough $$ for all who need it. It gets divided up by need. Now that we have actually received the money and a go ahead for a residence, there are no spaces available in the state. The residence we want will have space someday, but they can not predict how soon. They are currently searching for 2 new properties. If they don't find one soon enough, the county will take the money and give it to someone else. I have no idea how long it will take before the opening occurs at the same time funding is available. It is very frustrating and depressing.

Robin -
That just figures. If the government can find a way to make life difficult, they're going to do it. I really hope the residence finds more property. Hang in there.

Shannon-

What are you in the mood for? Do you want to do a rice and beans combo with the tomatoes, and olives? You could add the spices or herbs of your choosing.

What veggies do you have available? Can you make a minestrone with all the veggies and throw in a bit of cooked brown rice ?

Here is a recipe for Not-So-Dirty-Rice from Vegan Planet by Robin Robertson

1 T olive oil
1 med onion finely chopped
1 small green pepper seeded, chopped (I buy frozen diced green pepper)
2 garlic cloves minced ( I use bottled minced garlic)
2 cups veggies burger crumbles
1 t tabasco sauce
1 t dried thyme
1/2 t salt
3 cups freshly cooked long grain while rice ( I always use brown)

Heat oil in large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and pepper cover and cook until soft 5". Add rest on ingreedients except rice.. stir to combine and heat through 5". Stir in rice and cook until hot 5-7". taste and adjust seasoning, andserve hot

PS- I haven't tried this yet.

Let me know what you cameup with!!

Hey Judy -
You know, I have that cookbook. My problem is, I'm too lazy to actually use it. It takes too much planning. ;-)

The veggie burger crumbles are a good idea! I actually have some Boca burgers on hand. I was thinking about tofu, but it's frozen solid, and I know it won't thaw in time.

I think I can do a loose interpretation of this recipe. All I have is dried onions (I like real ones, but they don't like me), but I have the rest of the stuff.

I may have to throw in some beans though, to keep things balanced.

Thanks a bunch!
