Cathlete
Welcome to February!!!

Yesterday I did really well. Managed to avoid binging on anything and didn't listen to those cravings.

Today:

B - steel cut oats, banana, soy milk
S - 12 grain toast with pb and rest of banana
L - Going out with a friend, so not sure yet
S - cottage cheese with cinnamon and diced fresh pear
D - kidney beans sauteed with onion, garlic and green pepper, with lf salsa and cheese on a flax tortilla

Workout is MIC (yikes!) and chest.

Morning Shelley and all others to follow. Yesterday was pretty good. I did break down and have a handful of raisins and some pretzels before dinner, but otherwise, stuck to the plan. Today:
B - steel cut oats w/ raisins, soy milk, fresh fruit salad
L - PB&J, carrots, tomatos, orange
D - not sure, but today is grocery day, so whatever looks good at the store, probably fish
S - banana w/ PB

Yesterday I didn't have time for bicep work, so I will do that this afternoon. I got up early and did Step Fit. I don't know why I equate "old" with "easy." This workout kicked my butt.

Ok Shelly, nice goin' yesterday!! (pats on back)

My only change yesterday was to roast a whole chicken per kids request instead of Monk fish. And the chicken smelled so good I had a larger than usual portion. But I had only 1/2 my afternoon snack.

today:
B- hot oat bran & soy milk 1 c
S-fresh berries /60 cal yogurt
L- lo-carb wrap w/ scrambled eggwhites and green peppers
s- nf latte and sliced apple
d- monk fish that we omitted yesterday, salad, roasted cauliflower
S- 1 hersheys kiss, decaf. tea of coffee
***lotsa h2o of course :7

WO- Imax2 6-10 + two intense intervals on bike, core Max#1

ETA- Hi Robin! I hear ya on old workouts *thinking* they were easy and finding them to be a challenge!!

Well. Here's what I ended up doing with that spaghetti sauce last night. Don't cringe. Cooked some brown rice, heated the sauce, mixed it together and added some cottage cheese and corn. Ate it with some cornbread. Not exactly a gourmet dinner, but it tasted better than it looked. That's what I get for trying to be creative.

Today:
B - yogurt and 1 slice whole wheat bread with PB; OJ
S - Depends on how hungry I am. Yesterday I was starving. I brought a PB muffin, just in case but hope to stick to just walnuts.
L - Leftovers from that wonderful mess I made last night; H20
D - I'm going plain and simple tonight. Just lentils, carrots and whole wheat, homemade bread. Probaby milk.

Shelley - that Kidney bean thing you've got going sounds pretty good. What is "If Salsa?"

Hey Shannon.

I love making "messes" like that. Quite often I'll cook up brown rice, throw in some type of sauce and a bit of cheese and some veggies and eat it.

It's lf salsa. Low fat.:) It's actually fat free salsa, now that I look at the jar.

Ah. Fat free salsa. I thought most salsa is fat free. At least they advertise it that way in the grocery store!

I did well, yesterday, too!! After 3 days of craving for something (I never found what it was), I was barely hungry yesterday and had to make myself eat!

B~honey bunches of oats
S~nature valley sweet and salty nut peanut granola bar
L~turkey sandwich in tortilla with a slice of Provolone/little mustard
D~probably another turkey sand, but grilled in a little light margarine...not sure yet!

64 ounces of water (probably more)

I did the cardio from High Step Challenge this morning.

Have an awesome day everyone!

I've been doing really well so far this week and have been completely sticking to my planned meals. Let's hope today goes as well.

B - Kashi Go Lean w/ fat free milk
S - LF Cottage Cheese w/ apple slices and cinnamon
L - Organic vegetarian burrito (quick grab this morning)
S - Whole grain crackers with cheese
D - Egg whites, turkey bacon and whole wheat english muffin
S - Protien Shake

Dinner might change since I am only going to be cooking for myself tonight.

Have a great healthy day ladies!

I forgot to note in my morning post that I ignored the temptation for dessert! I had to drop something off at my parents' before work. Good old Mom had made "Chocolate Moose" cookies - chocolate cookies with chocolate icing in the shape of a moose. Very cute. Undoubtedly very tasty. But I didn't even ask if I could have one. Am I good??? :p

You TOTALLY busted me, Judy!!! I pretty much hate all vegetables and fruit. I will eat a banana right now, since I know that I should.

I sometimes eat canned peas and carrots, but no raw veggies or fruit. Something about the texture grosses me out. I will eat apple sauce, but not apples, split pea soup, but not really peas...I was spoiled as a child. Everyone said that my tastes would eventually change and I do try stuff from time to time, but at 36, I still just don't like most fruits and veggies. (Is that OK to say out loud here?) Clean eating is very hard for me, but I try...

I do eat tomato soup and sauce (with pasta). I do not like lettuce at all. I recently got a smoothie macine and have considered putting fruits and veggies in there, as I will drink just about anything (like I said..it is a texture thing for me!), but I can't figure out which things would taste good blended together, and what to mix it with..yogurt?

Frozen berries* work well with yogurt in a smoothie or just mixed together in a bowl. Almost any frozen fruit can work in a smoothie. A few people around here have some favorite smoothie recipes. Perhaps they will share.

* strawberries, blueberries, wild Maine blueberries, raspberries, cherries, blackberries can all be purchased frozen from any grocery store
* Mango pieces and sliced peaches bpought frozen work well in smoothies too!

* do you like cottage cheese? Any of these are nice with NF cottage cheese too!
