Morning all!

Yesterday was good until I got home and broke down and ate a few bites of the luscious chocolate pizza! It's all gone now, so I don't have to worry about that any more:)

Today:

B - steel cut oats, banana, soy milk
S - grapes and lf cheese with 12 grain crackers
L - rice and stir fried veggies, orange
S - apple and almonds
D - protein pancakes with strawberries and yogurt (it IS Pancake Day, after all!)

Workout is 4 mile run, back and core.

Good morning!

Shelley - is it really pancake day? I'll have to write that one down on my calendar!

B - PB toast and lf yogurt
S - orange
L - a goulash thing with lentils, barley, mushrooms and peppers. Green salad
S - nuts, apple
D - something with carrots. Got to use them up, but I haven't thought any further than that. Brown rice? Baked potato?

Hi Shelley, Shannon:
Pancake day? My husband has me convinced it's Donut day, he say's it's some kind of German tradition. So I am having my once (ok maybe twice) yearly donut today. I was good yesterday what the heck.

B - mixed cereal (kashi go lean/fiber one with lo fat milk
S - Donut (good luck)
L - Fish and salad (making up for the donut!)
S - protein bar
D - grilled chicken breast steamed vegies.

I did pyramid upper last night for the first time and really strained my back. I feel like a whiner always saying that but unfortunately that's just the way it's been lately. It was a great program though. I will try it again when I am stronger. I just kind of played with the stability ball, trying it out.
Today I am just walking which is what I usually do when the back starts annoying me. I will try for 3 miles today.
Have a wonderful Fat Tuesday everyone.

Paula

Good Tuesday Morning Ladies :)

Shelley...what is a chocolate pizza?

Shannon...I would like to hear your recipe for the goulash you're having for lunch.

I think I am officially back amongst the living again. However...now DH has the crud back again and we all know what men are like when they're sick...((((collective groan)))). He's at the doctor right now. This is our problem though, we just keep passing it back and forth amongst us.

B= Toast with peanut butter, couple chunks of cheese, tea.
S=probably cottage cheese with honeydew.
L=portion of chicken breast with salad.
S=not sure
D=not sure yet. May be warm enough to grill outdoors today so still contemplating tonight's meal. Beef kebobs of some sort sound really good to me right now. I love grilled vegetables. Can't wait for sweet corn season!

My hardcore rotation was trashed by my illness so I'm probably going to do lighter workouts the rest of this week and restart my rotation next Monday. Thinking of doing the crosstrain series to get me going again.

Ah, and so disappointed about Cathe having to postpone the new workouts. But I know knee injuries can take forever to straighten out so we may be in for a long wait I'm afraid. I have rotation's worked out until August 1, so I have plenty to stay busy with.

Paula...about your back issues...have you ever tried a chiropractor? I have a permanent back injury that will bother me sometimes and a chiropractic adjustment sets me on the straight and narrow again. I also sleep using one of the neck support pillows and for me and the injury I had, that pillow makes all the difference in the world. Don't suffer, try to figure out what is causing the pain and then you can try to correct for it and avoid it in the future.

I used to have recurring pinched nerves and it just s*cked when it would happen because it hurts so dang bad and my entire arm would go numb and be useless.

I know, some people don't like the idea of chiropractic treatments but I still wanted to mention it to you. I go in on a regular schedule and I can keep my back pretty much pain free most of the time. Sleeping on the sofa causes me trouble everytime though.

Thanks 40. Yes I do go to the chiropractor regularly now. I had an appointment for Thursday and I just called and bumped it up to this afternoon. He seems to get it into place and it's good for awhile, maybe even several weeks to a month and then I do something, God know what, and it hurts again. He sometimes says it's not that out but it doesn't matter it hurts.
I am going to ask him today about massage or maybe doing pilates, yoga instead of even trying weights for awhile.
Thanks for the concern and suggestions!
Paula

I know I love my chiropractor! And I know what you mean by your back may not be that 'out' but it still hurts anyway!

I was in a car accident years ago and I got a spinal compression fracture for my misfortune. I couldn't workout doing any weight work or pushups anything like that for over two years. Then it finally started to hurt less so my doctor and the chiro were both telling me to try to get back to upper body work because the stronger I can keep the back muscles the less problems I will have...especially in my golden years. And it does help alot. I will have recurring pain at the site of the injury if I have been sick and haven't been able to workout...like lately...or I sleep on a couch or in any position where my neck is funky. That seems to aggravate my injury every time.

How do you do with band work? Does that also cause your back to hurt?
