Mish-Mosh Request for A-Jock

Soosan

Cathlete
Hi AJ! For a variety of reasons, I like to keep my cardio to about 30-40 min (including WU and CD) and am sick of intervals 1-6 or 4-10 on the Imaxes. I sometimes do the blast only section of Imax 2 which takes about 40 min, but I'm sick of that too. Could you please devise some mish-moshes for me that fall into that time frame?

Oh and FYI, I burned my workout shorts with the flaming barbell - go figure.

Check out page 2 on open discussion AJ listed a mish-mosh you might like. The title is 15-15-15-15
Good Luck

Susan

Hello, Sooooooooooooosan (an alias you seem ridiculously wedded to) . . .

Ah, the challenge - the short, sharp balls-to-the-wall mish-moshes.

Here goes:

I-Max 3 warm-up and blast only premix (warm-up about 9 minutes; blast-only premix 24 minutes) then cooldown

Rhythmic Step warm-up (~9 minutes)
Body Max power circuit segment without the squats/lunges (just hit the "next" buttoon on the remote) (I almost corrected "buttoon" but I like it better that way) (14 minutes)
HSTA cardio only premix (12 minutes) (total of 35 minutes cardio)
Cooldown of choice

10-10-10 warm-up and kickbox (~14 minutes)
KPC high intensity drills (~15 minutes; do start at the "high intensity drills" selection on the Chapter menu)
Boot Camp kickbox premix (~6 minutes {?}
Boot Camp cooldown

Circuit Max warm-up, hi/lo and floor kickbox segments , fast-forwarding through the resistance cycles (~25 minutes give-or-take)
10-10-10 hi/lo segment (~9 minutes)
10-10-10 cooldown

Boot Camp cardio only premix including warm-up (~17 min?)
SJP hi/lo add-on premix (~18:30 min)
SJP cooldown

Rhythmic Step warm-up
Rhythmic Step challenge at the end (all of the previous combos done in a string I think)
Step Blast blast challenge
Step Blast cool down
(running time no clue)

That oughtta getcha started.

(Confidential to Rocky: Fiona's back in jail; she was caught doing some fairly inspired things in Loring Park that involved a Bosu, k-y jelly and a tail-braiding device.)

Couple more:

Boot Camp cardio only premix (including warm-up)
Kick Max Blast Challenge
Kick Max cooldown

Body Max warm-up and traditional step routine (even though this is steady-state, it still has the whoop-factor); Body Max cooldown

Sooooooooooooosan - also retrieve my rotation on the Rotations Forum "A-Jock's Faux-CTX Hardcore Rotation") (just go to the Advanced Search and use the keyword "faux" and it'll come up); all of the cardio is between 30-40 minutes to keep it consistent with CTX's cardio.

And . . . just do the CTX cardio segments as produced, one each day.

Wait a minute . . . another mish-mosh coming on . . .

10-10-10 warm-up, kickbox and hi/lo; then Step Intervals interval blast, then Step Intervals cooldown.

A-Jock

Thanks so much, A-Jock - you are my hero! I think a lot of people here are going to use these.

When I told Rocky about Fiona's new predicament, he said, "Oh no! not the Bosu/K-Y again!" He's been doing these mish-moshes in his tree ever since I told him. I guess it's a better outlet than bingeing on acorns.

A-Jock, I just wanted to thank you for posting your shorter mish-moshes for me. I've done these three so far:

Rhythmic Step warm-up
Rhythmic Step challenge at the end (all of the previous combos done in a string)
Step Blast blast challenge
Step Blast cool down

Boot Camp cardio only premix including warm-up (~17 min?)
SJP hi/lo add-on premix (~18:30 min)
SJP cooldown

10-10-10 warm-up and kickbox (~14 minutes)
KPC high intensity drills (~15 minutes; do start at the "high intensity drills" selection on the Chapter menu)
Boot Camp kickbox premix (~6 minutes {?}
Boot Camp cooldown

...and they were just the ticket, intensity-wise and length-wise, for my current cario needs. I usually do yoga for about 20-30 afterward. I've done the Imax 2 Blast Only Premix (the one that includes recovery periods), but am afraid to try the one from Imax 3 since I find Imax 3 to be pretty much harder than 2. I'll work my way up to your more difficult compilations. Since they're only 30-40 minutes, there's not as much of a dread factor involved as with your other evil mish-moshes, but they still will no doubt improve my cario endurance. Thanks again!

Oh yeah, please tell Fiona that Rocky's found another woman. She looks to be part chipmunk, but we're pretty open-minded about inter-species relationships in my house.

Hi, Sooooooooooooosan . . . glad you're enjoying the mish-moshes! In fact, I just now reprinted them for Debgore on the Vid Discussion forum as she too needed some nano-nosebleed sessions.

Actually, Fiona slipped her Electric Home Monitoring bracelet over the weekend and I haven't seen hide nor hair (literally) of her since Saterday afternoon. Rocky's chipmunk better lay low. Fiona might be headed east, and she's not known for sharing her conquests.

Ummm....just for the record, Fiona slipped her bracelet to attend the triathlon Saturday and just barely made it in time to enter the citizen's squirrel division which was released a full hour later. She breezed by me on the uphill (darn squirrels are SO irritating to compete alongside, at least in the run, lacking all common courtesy). Guess chippygirl explains Rocky's no-show Soosan? Imagine...throwing a race for some little hot chipmunk - where are your priorities Rocky?

As for the moshes....THESE ARE TOO COOL!!! Thanks so much for this post, it's exactly what I need Soosan (and AJ). Although following these with Yoga is kind of like following fillet mignon with a twinkie x( x( x( x( :p :p :p

Briee

AJ and Briee, very interesting about Fiona's skipping town to attend the triathalon. Before we applaud her for her athletic drive, let's remember who we're taking about here. Exactly how many male squirrels entered the event, Briee? I'm guessing they were pretty buff.

LOL about the Filet/Twinkie yoga analogy, Briee!.:7 :7 :7 I'm just going to bide my time - you'll come over to my side eventually.
