Jennifer-
Unfortuantely I am unable to make it on March 17th(St Patrick's Day). This Irish gal has alot of family celebrations to attend. Let me know if/when you all have another get together. Sounds like sooo much fun.

RE: Michigan Cathe-ites, change of lunch date to March ...

Come to think of it, St. Pat's falling on a Saturday, in a college town, might be asking for trouble. When I went to State, the partying began at 7:00 a.m. and kept going all day long-with huge lines and crowds to get in anywhere. Hate to be a spoilsport, but this might be tough.

KLaudia,

Where do you suggest? I can continue on this thread or start a new one. March 10th, that will be my parents last weekend in MI before heading back to the Mayo Clinic.

TIA,

Hey Jennifer,

No, no, you should be with your parents. I was just thinking about the chaos that occurs on college campuses on St. Patty's Day. We need to think of someplace centrally located, maybe like Brighton? Any suggestions, ladies?

Hi Jennifer--
It looks like I am not free on that Sat. March 17 because of a sports event for my kids that lasts all day. I'm sorry about that. Maybe I can join up on the next Michigan get together.

Have a great time!!

I think if we pick somewhere in Lansing we should be okay. Well, except the Irish Pub, LOL!

How many people do we think there will be? If it's a smaller crowd we could go to El Azteco in Lansing, at the corner of Saginaw and Martin Luther King (formerly Logan).

That's a Mexican restaurant, so it shouldn't be too bad on St. Patrick's Day. If Mexican doesn't sound appealing, we could go to Cheddar's, on the west side near the Lansing Mall.

Anne,

Either one sounds good to me. Please can you get exact addresses for mapquest too? Thanks. I know the west side near LAFCU pretty good but not the rest of the city.

So, where does everyone want to go?

The address for El Azteco is:
1016 W Saginaw St
Lansing, MI 48915
(517) 485-4589

There's a map a few reviews here:

The food is really good if you like greasy Mexican. It's not the place to go if your goal is clean eating, but I figure for one lunch it'll be fine, right? Plus, when you meet me you'll see I'm not a clean eater!

The other option is to move it out another week to the 24th, then I think the Peanut Barrell would be fine. Let me know what you think.

Sorry Jen I can't make it on the 17th.

Hi! Sorry I haven't been able to reply until now because my internet has been down for 3 days! The 17th will work for me, and which ever restaurant is chosen will be okay too. Count me in. By the way, the 24th won't work for me because I have to work that day.
Thanks for putting this together. MR

El Azeteco in Lansing on the 17th at 12noon. Please let me know if you're coming. Thanks.

I'll be there! Just so you know, there is another El Azteco in East Lansing. We're meeting at the one in Lansing, corner of Saginaw and Martin Luther King (formerly Logan). It's near St. Lawrence Hospital. See you then!

anne

Thanks for letting me know, this will be fun. And, we're meeting at the one in Lansing near the hospital.
I copied and pasted the directions so I can send out a reminder in March.
