Merry moms-week of Dec. 12

shopaholic

Cathlete
Hi all,
Poor Ms. Alexis has a rash and a fever due to shot last week. I think it was the mumps/measles one. Doc said she could get this reaction a week after the shot. Its hard to believe she is already 15 months old. She measured in at 28 inches, 16.1 pounds, still a petite one.

This week I did a cia week. Alexis joined me for some workouts, like Max she crawls all over the step.

Workout week:
Sun-powerbar training
Mon-cia 9801 with christi-hi/lo +first seg. of step
Tues-strength express-mindy + about 15 minutes of bootcamp from step n strike
Wed-step til you drop seg. 1 and 2. +Winsor abs
Thurs-greatest step with gay g.(step and toning)
Fri-cia 9903-franny b.-step
Sat-Extreme intervals and pump party

Hi everyone!

Boy, I abandoned this board for a while--sorry! We just bought our first home and in addition to everything else, life has been hectic--I've been decluttering with a vengeance. You see we bought the house we'de been sharing and renting from my Mother-in-law (long story). She's moved out, we've bought the house and she's left a whole bunch of stuff (junk, basically) for us to weed through. But I can't paint or decorate or anything until this is done!!!

I've been working out though, although my journal is in the other room, and I am having difficulty remembering exactly what I did last week--basically the first week of Cathe's Nov 2003 rotation (circuits) which I am switching back and forth with Slow and Heavy.

Bardric is more active than ever and still loves to nurse. I am beginning the weaning process. Hoo Boy.

Shopaholic--our 3rd child was 17 pounds at 18 months--really petite and tiny. At 5 1/2, she's caught up a bit with her peers, but is still on the small side.

Hi everyone else! Merry Christmas or Happy Hannakah (spelling?)

I hope to have the time to check in more frequently. I think things will calm down a bit after the holidays.

take care, everyone
Maggie

PS edited to say that Bardric got into an open container of vasiline while I was typing this. He and our fouton are extremely greasy--well conditioned, I should say, putting a positive spin on the situation.

Maggie.....so good to hear from you. I'm very happy for you with the "home" situation. Hope it all works out and you don't lose your mind in the process. (I know how hectic this can be). I've been a little out of it for the last 3 weeks too!!

We are putting an addition on our home- it's more like a house on our home so it's been a whirlwind of activity here. We'll have two garages on the lower level and one on our main floor level and a home for my mom to "retire" as part of the deal. I put a sheet over the workout room window so I can workout while the "men" are working outside. I asked my dh if we can put 9 foot walls in the new basement part of the addition so I can anchor a pullup bar into the wall and not bump my head or touch my feet. He thought this was a silly reason for going with a 9 foot ceiling......but he did it. (I believe there was more motivation than just a pullup bar his end of the opinion poll (equipment, tools, etc...). I will probably check in once in a while until we get this finished, which could take some time.

My workouts have been basic...P90X strength tapes alternated with ImaX II and SJP hi/lo and step cardio (60min) (oh also S&H legs every three days or so). I'm continuing to build my shoulders and back so I guess the P90X is still working. I got on the scale the other day - my dh had asked if I was loosing more weight and my pants are getting lots more loose - I had GAINED about 2 pounds. I'm finally building some real muscle - I hope. I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEW IMAX III DVDS AS WELL AS THE OTHERS!! They can't come soon enough. Glad you are all doing well...I will try to check in as often as possible. Have a wonderful Christmas and Holiday season!!

Happy Holidays ladies!!!!!

Wow, Aleixs is 28 inches, 16.1 pounds... she IS petite. Are you petite?

Maggie, Bardric probably knows you are too busy, espeically with the house, to notice that the fouton needed to be conditioned. ;)

Brie, I hope the new addition doesn't take too long.

I am loving the holidays this year... Sydney is soooo much fun. We have been busy baking cookies, which hasn't been good for my weight. We made those Oreo Balls posted on the Open Discussion... unfortunately they are wonderul. x( }( My fav Christmas cookies are Chocolate Chip (not really Christmas) and these little delicate citrus cookies called Swedish Melting Moments. :9 I think I will make gifts for friends and family to get the temptation out of the house.

We picked up the Christmas pics of the kids, and they are gorgeous!!!! My DD looks so grown up... the hour of work with my lil guy really paid off the pics are just beautiful. Maybe my DH can put together an online album and I can email you ladies the link.

I am still following the P90X plan... I substitute a Cathe cardio and lower body each week. I am only doing Ab Ripper X once a week... my hip flexors can't take more than that. ;-)

Enjoy the holidays ladies!

Maggie, welcome back and congrats on the purchase of your house. I like having Alexis petite but really want to turn her carseat around. Maggie did you keep your daughter rear facing until she reached 20 lbs?
Autumn, yes I am petite at 4 foot 11 1/2 inches and a size 2P. I definitely got the right baby from the hospital. Thats great that your pics turned out well, I'd love to see them.

Merry Christmas all! Everyone seems to be soooo busy. Compared to you ladies, my life is dull & slothful. ;) Ambitious gang we have here. :) My workouts have been okay. Sunday started off w/a power outage...my 92 year old neighbor came over to stay warm next to our fireplace...then she didn't want to go home when power came back on (I didn't mind much, but didn't get to workout :( )

Sun: poweroutage
Mon: Ab Ripper X
Tue: Timesaver #4 + IMax 1
Wed: BC Core + Janis Saffel Kick-it (just 20 min--short nap for Justin)
Thurs: Timesaver #3
Fri: Circuit Max
Sat: off

I hope Alexis feels better.
Congrats on your home Maggie-- how's the weaning going? I"m not super sure how to go about this process. I know that I don't want to be pumping at work when Justin's a year old. I don't mind keeping night/early AM nursings for a bit longer though. How old is Mr. B again?
Briee, your home sounds huge. P.S. lovin' Ab Ripper!! ;)
Autumn, your life sounds so busy too...do you work fulltime too?

Good to see many of you back this week, notably Maggie and briee, who have been MIA! Max had a vomiting spell last night that was sooo gross. Poor guy was so weak and didn't know what was happening to him. He pretty much lost everything last evening that he had eaten yesterday. Every time I tried to hydrate him, he would vomit more. Weird thing is it only lasted 5 hours. Then he went to bed and slept 8 hours. Today he is fine. Obviously I hate it when he is sick, but there is one good thing. He will just rest his head on my chest and snuggle with me, which he will never do normally. You know, these little people are always on the go and don't want mama to make them slow down.

I had a pretty good workout week. Most days I have to force myself to workout, but of course, I feel better after it is over.

Mon- Hot Steps
Tue- Boot Camp
Wed- Step Blast
Thu- SJ&P
Fri- none
Sat- Plyometrics + Ab Ripper

Alexis look cute, as always, in her Christmas picture. Briee, glad to hear your pumping iron is paying off. The expansion will be fun when it is finished. Maggie, How often do you breastfeed now? This past month Max and I gave up our morning and naptime feedings and now he is only nursed at bedtime. Melanie, I must say my life is also "dull and slothful" compared to everyone else's, maybe mine is even more so than yours! Autumn, glad you are having so much Christmas fun. I would like to see a picture of your little ones.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Melanie you are tooo funny....dull and slothful. I seem to remember a very pregnant mom who was re-doing ALL the rooms in her home and moving things and going through EVERYTHING and painting rooms and............etc etc etc..... Tell me if I'm wrong????

At this particular moment...I'm not doing much by way of actual building, but my poor dh is being run ragged. The bull dozer has dozed most of our hill around us and it's so pretty now and best of all.....a FABULOUS sled hill has emerged...it's called our driveway. This morning I got up to do Chest and Back (in a workout room that I swear was maybe 2 degrees- it was 15 below outside) and after the workout we all went sledding down the new driveway. What a blast, much more fun than chest and back!!!

Hey Emy.....I hate sick kids too, but love the cuddling also!! Hope everyone stays healthy for Christmas and Holidays.

Briee

I didn't get sweet Alexis's new pix!!!!! But I'm sure it was cute!! I'll check email to be sure.

Oops I spoke too soon. Shopaholic - you DID send it and i was right.......very cute. You know (I'm sure you know) she is REALLY a beautiful little girl - you're gonna have to be careful with her....beautiful brown eyes. I'm not showing Noah!!

Autumn--I, too, am baking waaaay too much. Next week, back on the wagon--I'm afraid to weigh myself.

Melanie--Weaning is not really happening right now. Too much going on and I am really going to have to focus on it and let him cry it out a bit. Our two week spring break is when I will do this.

Shopaholic--I honestly cannot remember when we faced her forward in the car seat. I am drawing a complete blank and so is my husband.

Briee--your home project sounds more chaotic than mine and lucky you--you get snow. We don't get much snow in Oregon. It's rare and very fun when we do. I don't think I've ever experienced a white Christmas.

Emy--Bardric is 16 months and still nurses frequently. I am willing to do this for 2-3 more months and then it's TIME. He looves the breast.

Take care everyone!

Okay, if Mr B is still nursing...I don't feel bad at all. Justin just loves BFing. I just wouldn't feel right continuing to pump at work after the little guy is a year-old. I'm basically doing early morning & evening feedings. He's nursing about 3-4 times a day. I plan on giving him whole milk pretty soon though. My frozen BM smells as if it's freezer burned & it's depleting. I have about 10 or so bags left. Hopefully Justin will like whole milk.)

Justin is still not sleeping through the night though!!!! Help!!!! ;) I'll be letting him cry it out soon and very soon. Right after the holidays I"m afraid.

Thanks for the picture of Alexis. I hope her rash is better.

Happy Holidays ladies!!
