~**~*MELTERS - Thrilling Thursday*~**~

Morning all...

The only reason I beat Deb is because my run didn't go very well this morning. I made three miles, then my stomach gave out on me. Normally, I can just take a quick potty break and get back to it, but not this time. I guess 3 miles is better than nothing, right?

Must grab a shower. I'll bbl!

Good Morning all!

Hey Shelly! Thanks for getting us started today:) Are you going to be the official started when I am out of town next week?

..I will be back in a bit.

Deb

Hi Deb! Yup, I should be able to start next week!

Just perused yesterday's thread.

Tneah - those shoes are adorable! They're gonna look great with rolled up jeans or white pants! And Size 8 1/2 isn't big. My feet are size 9. So there.

Robin - I so wish you were coming on the RT (look at me talking like I'm gonna get in). But I am adamant that we get together perhaps later in the summer/fall.

Leanne - thanks for the offer! Lainie offered too, so I think I might order them today!

Jennifer - shopping is definitely exercise *nods wisely*

Either Shelley or I will get things started, Deb. Have no fear. We will miss you though.

Shelley, I'm sorry your run didn't go as well as you'd have liked. And yes, three miles is better than nothing.

Leanne, no problem with my knee after last night's workout. I vote for Toronto. I think I could handle a weekend there!

I'm watching the forecast and drooling. Sun and 70's. I'd love to take a mental health day, but we are already short at work today, with two techs out of the department for training. Another one left early yesterday, because he was sick, and we don't know if he'll make it in today.

The rotation calls for 4DS Bootcamp etc today. I think this is the hardest of the 4DS workouts and dread it. I really have to get my eating under control too. Since I recieved my perfectly fitting pants, I've been chowing down like there's no tomorrow. Just because I don't need to lose doesn't mean I have to gain!

I'll be back later to check in the rest of you shopping fiends.

Hi , I'm back,

Shelly:
yes! 3 miles is still a workout! I would love to be able to run 3 miles! I like Scrabble too! any word game if fun for me. We have a Kohl's here! You can come down and get those shoes shop on that day you had planned to go to the OUtlet Mall when Sophie is off!

Robin:
I know you will all do fine without me.;-) Regarding the "evil one", who is responsible for doing the documenting? What does your supervisor do when you tell her these things that are going on?

Shannon:
I think the dance workout is ok if you like that style..I never did enough of it to work up even a little bit of a sweat. The abs are awesome though..

Tneah:
Do you do I-Train spineravals? I hear you on the leg workout...it has become my least favorite body part to work out.. the only one I enjoy is 4DS legs. Maybe the motivation loss is really your body telling you to rest after that 12 weeks of "torture" you put it through? I think that once in a while we need a complete rest from anything, cardio, weights etc. Sometimes 3-5 days, or even a week for the body to rejuvenate. The vest sounds like it will be great for STS. Do you think the 10 pounder is a better choice? The shoes are really cute. I would fall on my face with those, but I like them!

Emily:
Do you have a good yoga workout? I know when I was doing P90x, I hated the yoga workout, and used to either skip it and add cardio, or do Pilates instead. There used to be a whole check in on trying to fit yoga into a rotation.:) EWWW..eat the crickets and leave the legs..

Leanne:
Sorry about your situation with your BIL..I vote for having a heart to heart with DH, and if he doesn;t ask how long he plans on staying, I would do it myself. He is an adult for crying out loud! You would think he would want a place of his own. Will he have a job when he gets there? Maybe you should offer to "scout around" for an apartment for him while he is getting ready to move.. and do not put yourself down! You have done so much in improving your health and are fit and trim..a size 0! I can't even imagine how small that is!

Lainie:
Your walk sound great! Nice shopping trip too!:) Good for you for getting both colors! Oh poor Fritz:-(

Jennifer:
Cudos to you on the Big Raise!:7

Have a great day!

Deb:)

Hello Melters.

Shelley-3 miles is a good workout, getting up early is a major accomplishment.

Emily-when's your next race?

Leanne-you're a trooper for taking in your BIL. Have a conversation to set down his timeline for moving out. A friend of mine's husband has taken in and taken care of most of his family. They made sure they knew who was paying for what, time frame, etc...

Robin-Good luck at work. Who can you talk to about this person sabatoging efficiency and productivity? I'm sure other people have issues with this person.

Tneah-How's life? Is Nordstrom's your fave? Do you like NehmanMarcus?
there is a mall north of Detroit that has Couch, Cartier, etc..

Shannon,Lainie, Deb-Have a Wonderful Day!!

And, I will to-the raise is figured into part of my check this week with OT. Lots of stuff to get for the house this week.

Have a Great One!!

Good morning, Melters -

I had a good workout with Cardio Coach on the elliptical last night. I always dread getting on that thing, but when I'm done I feel so good! I can't figure out that dread factor and need to just get over it! :7

I left the windows open at home today. Mid-70s and sunny today! But it's supposed to be pretty windy. Drat - I forgot to put doorstops in front of some doors, so I'm sure they'll all slam shut sometime today with that wind and scare my dog!

Shelley - I think three miles is a pretty good, solid run. I hope your stomach is behaving itself now.

Robin - As soon as your staff gets back to normal, you need to take that mental health day! I hope you survive 4DS Bootcamp.

Deb - I guess I missed something. Where are you going next week?

Jennifer - you got the raise! YAHOOO!!!

ETA - I'll try my very best to be back later, check up on yesterday's thread and say hi to everyone else. Yesterday ended up being pretty busy!

Morning All!

Deb, when are you leaving? I haven't done the itrain spinervals, in fact I am not sure I have seen it, although I do own several of Keith's cycling workouts which are nice, especially when I am in SD and do not have access to a DVD player. I love Coach Troy and the Spinervals workouts, Brenda is in a few of them. They are tough, but make you feel like an athlete so you get through them. I am the same about legs, I love the results, but hate the actual workout. I agree, 4DS legs is Cathe's best one as far as I am concerned. The 25 pound vest is almost too much because of the strain it puts on the neck, I wish I would have purchased the 10 pounder, but thats okay, my legs are sore today from those walking lunges done with the extra 25 pounds!}(

Shelley, 3 miles is 3 miles, better than nothing! When you run, don't you need to take days when you do not go all out or as far? Glad you are getting the shoes.Whats up with your touchy tummy?

Robin, we have had super hot weather already here, it was in the upper 80's all week, today we settle into a friendlier 75...enjoy your own beautiful weather. I dread the Bootcamp workout too, the hopping kinda pisses me off for some reason, I am just not an "airborne" type of gal I guess.Again, I blame the boobs.Ha!

Shannon, we had a ton of wind yesterday, tree branches everywhere! I am neutral about my own elliptical, some days I like it, others I feel like I can never get it going you know what I mean?

Jennifer, I love them all actually...Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Saks, Target, but especially those little out of the way places that sell stuff you don't see anywhere else. The closest you can get to that in Vegas is Anthropologie which is my absolute favorite of all time! I wish I could move into that store.

Hi to Leanne, Emily, Lainie....

I am finishing this workout week, and then considering something totally different for next week, maybe some Cathe circuits or just cardio...my body is tired and sore, so I think a week of "cardio only" might do the trick.

Be back later to see whats shakin'....

Hi everyone. I had a rather busy morning involving both Target and the grocery store (though I assure you all--or at least most of--my Target purchases were all of a practical nature--food and toilet paper and stuff--so I wouldn't have such a full basket at the grocery store).

Anyway, I'm back but pretty soon I have to get Ewan down for his nap and do my workout. I'm going to do Workout #2 from Kelly Coffey-Meyer's 30-Minutes to Fitness. My abs are still from Workout #1 which I did on Tuesday.

I'm still sort of sleepy, so I hope I can get my energy up to have a good workout. Hopefully it will be one of those days when a workout will energy and not one of those days where I just continue to drag through it. At least KCM is a high energy instructor.

Shelley, I agree shopping is exercise (if done with proper form). That's how I lost a lot of my baby weight after the first baby. :) Of course, I was living in Europe without a car, so all my shopping was on foot--that helped.

Robin, I'm not a bootcamp workout fan. I only did it once on 4DS (and it was actually kind of fun for that kind of workout) but then substituted lower impact stuff because of my knee issues. Hope you can get through it without the dread factor today! Actually, you probably already did it, since most people work out earlier than I do.

Deb, yes, we will miss you. It will be weird not to have you! Of course, I thought I was traveling next week, but it didn't happen. :( Just not a good time for DH to leave work.

Jennifer, congrats on the raise!

Shannon, I have a great dread of the elliptical as well. Of course, I don't have one so it's no longer an issue. Last time I belonged to a gym my trainer would make me do the elliptical or the stairclimber and I hated both of them--especially the stairclimber. Ugh. I was a cardio hater in my gym days.

Tneah, hope you find the right workouts for you next week. I've lightened up (on everything, cardio, weights, whatever) lately but I'm thinking about starting to heavy up on weights again next week.

OK, gotta get up off my heinie, get this kid to bed, and do my workout.

Hey chicas!

OMG it's completely gorgeous outside. I did NOT want to come back to work after running my errands!

Robin - our forecast is great too! Remember last April, in your neck of the woods? Rainy and cold, if I recall ;) I think y'all should come to Toronto and shop!

Deb - where is the Kohl's??? I hated P90X yoga too!

Jennifer - what kind of stuff are you getting for your house?

Shannon - I know what you mean about the CC dread factor. I think it's because they're HARD workouts! I always feel great when I'm done too.

Tneah - my tummy troubles are from running. My whole lower body was sore this morning though, but I took some Advil and things are better. I feel a bit like I need a break too, though my workouts haven't been nearly as intense as yours.

Lainie - did you get your workout done? How does KCM compare to Cathe? And you said MOST of your Target purchases were practical, so what else didja get?

I'm totally serious about a trip to Toronto. I think it would be about a 6-8 hour drive - doable over a long weekend.

Heya Melters! Happy Thursday afternoon!

This morning I did Bootcamp cardio x2 (original Bootcamp, not 4DS). Had to take a short break in the middle, though, because AF decided to show up and bring some nasty cramps with her. Ugh. Thankfully, Advil works quickly on an empty stomach.

Shelley, sorry your run didn't go as planned, but 3 miles is definitely better than no miles. :)

Robin, I know exactly what you mean about "just because I don't need to lose doesn't mean I have to gain". I get the same way - "Oh, my pants fit, guess I can have 3 cookies now!" :p Must.stop.that.now!

Deb, I think the yoga yesterday really helped. My hip/butt has been feeling better. Of course, it could also be the fact that I'm on Advil for cramps, which probably makes all my pain go away. Eh, I'll take it. ;)

Jennifer, I don't have any races planned at this time. Racing is what got me into trouble, so I'm going to stay away for a while. Congrats on your raise! Enjoy shopping for house stuff!

Shannon, sounds like you're getting the wind that we had yesterday. It was extremely windy here yesterday - 45 mph gusts! A piece of our house (the aluminum that covers the eaves) blew off, and DH needs to replace it.

Tneah, it sounds like doing something different next week will be just what the doctor ordered. Hope that tiredness and soreness goes away quickly.

Lainie, good for you making practical purchases at Target! I can never go into that store and buy just practical things... as evidenced by my growing collection of Target handbags, home decor items, and scrapbooking supplies. :p

Hope everyone else is having a lovely day!

Hi everyone, back again. I did my workout (biceps, triceps, and shoulders). I was a bit tired (still am) but managed to keep motivated through the workout (helps that it was only 1/2 an hour).

Well, there were gang fights in the streets of my village yesterday--not far from where my precious children were playing in the backyard. Scary stuff. Here's the article about it: http://www.lohud.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008804170441

We are in a very middle class neighborhood between a fancier neighborhood (closer to the river) and a more rundown neighborhood (farther from the river). This gang fighting happened just a couple blocks from our house. OMG, I just re-read the article and realized it actually began in the park just across the street. Yikes. That is not good.

Shelley, KCM is not as tough as Cathe (though she's pretty darn high energy, so her cardio is pretty killer). I'd say she's intermediate to advanced. The 30-Minute to Fitness workouts I think are only advanced if you really heavy up on them (which I didn't because I'm in a slump). I really didn't get much impractical stuff at Target. I got some new shoes for Ewan (but he could use some so not bad) and a couple stripey polo-style shirts for the boys. I also got haircolor, but I personally consider that practical. :) Oh, and sunglasses, but I totally broke my spare car pair, so that was practical. Plus they're cheap (I am always breaking sunglasses, so I never spend more than 15 bucks on them).

Emily, good job doing that Bootcamp workout in the morning. Eek, I can't even do Bootcamp stuff in the afternoon.

Well, darn. I honestly tried to get back on and say hi to everyone, but then I realized it was time for a meeting. Now I have to finish up some stuff. So I guess I'll see y'all tomorrow!

Hello Melters.

Life is good, the funds are great, the sun is out, and my taco dip is done for the high calorie pot luck on Friday.

My stuff for the home is for yard work. Yippe, but I at least have to have it after the upcoming rain ends.

No workouts tonight.

Have a Great Night!!

Hey guys, doesn't if feel like a Friday?

I have major DOMS in my lower half, so bad its hard to walk!:p Thinking about laying on the couch and watching tv or reading tonight instead of doing more cardio...yes, thats what I will do.

Bad news on the dental front, my tooth might need a root canal afterall, the nerve that runs underneath all of my bottom teeth is acting up and it really hurts, had to visit the dentist again. Got some pain meds and hope they work...crap. Wish I had done my homework better before I jumped onto the veneer bandwagon, they have caused me nothing but problems because I chose a bad dentist when I had them done in Salt Lake City.

We have tickets to see Tony Bennetts old arse ;) tomorrow night. Actually I have tremendous respect for him, it should be a nice evening with my sexy DH.:7
