Hi everyone. I just got back from being out of town and meeting BelovedHeather in person on Saturday. Many of you may have read her post already and been inspired by it. I just wanted to let you know that meeting her in person was even more inspriational and a true blessing for me. When I first contacted Heather to let her know I would be traveling near where she lived, I didn't know much about the area and suggested we meet up for lunch. She suggested several local things we could do and get some activity in while doing them. I loved the zoo idea and met her there early Saturday. I was in town for a wedding and set aside some time to spend with her. I think we were both a little nervous about meeting each other even though we had been "talking" on the forums for quite some time. I'm not a very out going person and often feel out of place especially with people I don't know. I should never have been worried. From the moment I met her in the parking lot we started talking and didn't stop until it was time for me to return to my family obligations. She was just the sweetest thing. She has such a positive outlook on life even though (as she mentioned in her post) life has not always been kind to her. She is a beautiful person, inside and out. I had a wonderful time walking and chatting with her at the zoo. I look forward to spending more time with her and everyone else at the Road Trip. You will all enjoy meeting her and will walk away feeling blessed that you did.
I am so glad that I got the chance to meet her. I am also grateful that she posted her personal story. We all do not have perfect bodies, or lifes for that matter, but we all deserve love and respect. Thanks to her post, I hope that we will all think twice before judging others by what we think we see. Whether it be size, beauty, disablity or financial class, we need to leave the judgement behind and try to make the most out of the blessings the Lord has given us.
