Meal plan for a teen boy

My DS decided to work out and eat healthy food. I’m very excited about it and of course I support him. He asked me to make a food plan for him. He is 16 years old, 5.9 tall and 169 lbs.
He looks very skinny and all he need to develop muscles. Can anyone tell me how much calorie he should eat? Do you know any website that helps figure out what and how much food he can eat?

Thanks!

Krisztina,

I'd suggest the FDA Pyramid website. You can input his age, weight and activity level and have customize pyramid for him, and it will tell you what foods and how much.

Here is the URL: Look on the upper right, for the custom pyramid maker thing.

http://www.mypyramid.gov/

But do check out the links on the left too, as you can make a food tracker and activity tracker for free so there is a ton of info there.

Hope that helps,

good for him! fitday.com is good for calorie tracking and suggested intake. he will need a lot of protein if he wants to add some bulk

jes:)

I suggest Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. He will learn what, when, and how to eat without starving himself. He'll learn his ratio's and even what exercises will help him achieve his goals.

Thank you so much for the info. Both websites are great and my son is very happy because he can do it without me /not the cooking/.
