ME

Cathlete
I've just finished ME this morning, and again, I thought that this one is my absolute favorite, and one of Cathe's best I think. Just love it!

i confess i haven't done cathe weight work in awhile(but i got some new dvds for my b-day so i better hop on it),but i must agree that this is a killer workout. i was using the fittv version for a long while then happen to stumble upon the vhs copy at a thrift store for $2 so its even better LOL. now that i am not working for the summer i will have more time for these little gems.

macska, I haven't done it in a while and all I remember are those endless sets of step-ups. I'm a skinny weakling these days, but I would love to get back to doing ME someday, maybe by the end of the year.

Did you do ALL the step-ups??

Actually yes, I did all the step-ups :) and I'm very proud of it. I did not use extra weight, but I tried to go real deep. Life if good!

Gee, I never use weight. I'm just happy to be able to get thru them. Good for you!! I'm very impressed, if not a bit envious. ;)

Hey, I'm training for my hip replacement, I gotta be strong!

I did ME yesterday! Have you noticed that on the step-ups, that Jai lands so lightly on her rear leg? It's almost as if she doesn't end up with any weight on it at all. Gee, I feel like an elephant when I step down! I do stay on the ball of my foot, but I'm sure not that graceful.

You are having a hip replacement? When, where, why, etc...so am I, this coming Tuesday!:7 I have been working out like a mad woman "preparing" myself for the recovery period-they say about 6 weeks until I can return to normal stuff like working out, but will be walking right away!!Yippee.I wish you all the best.
People think its strange you can work out hard with a bad hip, but hey, you can do anything with lots of ibuprofen and Cathe right? Honestly i do modify quite a bit, for step I cannot use risers, walking lunges are out, so I do stationary ones, etc...

I too love ME, its another one of those "forgotten" workouts, as I have been concentrating on hitting the weights heavy and hard lately.

Wow, good luck to you. I'm in NJ and I'll have it done in Robert Wood Johnson on 7/23. Metal on metal large head. I love my MD and he's done a lot of "younger" hips. He predicts a fast recovery.
I'm training for it too. Advil is a separate food group nowadays for me too.
Where are you, where are you having it done and what kind? Let me know how you are doing! Best of luck to you and quick recovery, I'm sure that you are in great shape.
Have you checked out www.dancerhips.com? I love the stories there.

I am in Las Vegas and Todd Swanson is doing my mini-hip this Tuesday, its a ceramic deal.

I am only 41, but over the years have danced, ran, bodybuilding, and everything else have taken a toll on my right hip, the past three years have been hell, so I found a great doc-he helped develop the mini-hip procedure which is a good thing right!:)

You are an awesome babe, looked at your pictures, you are very fit, and will have no problem recovering-all my best to you, I will be thinking of you this month-good healing thoughts:7 And thanks for the site, I was just checking out sites that list all the celebrities who have had it done. I guess Martha Stewart just did and is recovering, Prince needs one but his religion will not allow him to receive blood transfusions, Mary Lou Retton, so many really.

I did this one with my husband this am. I am still having trouble moving most of my muscles. This is the toughest Cathe workout, IMHO(except maybe MIS and MIC)

Tnea-good luck on your hip surgery! We are all wishing you the best!

Thank you so much really. I am sorry for veering off the thread subject, very rude of me. But I just had to wish a fellow "hippie" girl well!;-)
