May rotation check-in anyone?

Is anyone interested in doing a Cathe May Rotation check-in? I started this last Friday and I was wondering if anyone else has begun. Also, I'm thinking of making a few changes and looking for opinions on them. For example, today would have been the first 'rest' day for me. I felt pretty good this am and I thought that I might be pretty worn out if I attempted to do 9 workouts in a row. So I went ahead and did Power Hour this am. I'll either rest tomorrow or do MIC tomorrow and rest on Thursday.

Hi. I decided to try Cathe's May rotation. I just started on Sunday. I have made a few modifications because I workout Sunday thru Friday with Saturdays off. I also like to go to the gym at least 3 days a week so some of the cardio and weight days will be slightly different but actually it will add some more variety. This rotation looks like fun but I am wondering if some of the weeks provide enough leg work for me. I may add in some extra on my own.

Hi everyone! I am going to follow this rotation also. I workout Monday through Saturday and take Sunday off. I am going to substitute a few workouts because I don't own MIC or Pure Strength. Monday I did BodyMax, but I don't feel like I went as heavy as I should have. Today, I felt like doing Imax 2 so I did that instead of Rythmic Step. Tomorrow, I plan on doing Muscle Endurance because I don't own Power Hour. Instead of MIC on Thursday (I will take my rest day on Sunday), I will do a couple of CTX cardios. Good grief...I'm substituting a lot already. On Friday I am planning on doing Circuit Max and on Saturday I will do Boot Camp. I've changed the order somewhat this week. When we get to Pure Strength week, I will have to use the Pyramids and Leaner Legs. I have not been able to stick with a rotation yet, so I'm hoping the variety in this May rotation will help me stick to it!:7

hi all!

I exercise monday thru saturday as well. Yesterday i did Body Max .. all of it.. for the very first time..i usually break it up in 2 sections.. i love the step section from the beginning.. But i did it All and felt FABULOUS!! Today i
tackled all of Rhythmic Step for the first time too..i usually skip to the cool down after the 3rd section
but it was a blast and fun fun fun .. i feel great and hopefully too can commit to this entire rotation !!!! I will try very hard cuz it sure looks like a killa tough one
Wish me luck everyone and it was a great idea to start this check in ..

Hi Everyone,
I'm so happy to have company for the May rotation. :7 Want to check in once a week? Is Monday ok? I have a question for all. I'm a little hesitant to do a run/walk as I have not done any running/speed walking in a long time and I'm afraid of getting sore. It seems that is what happens to me. I think I read that I'm most likely straining my fascia. Any suggestions? Will slowing down help? **Erika I think your gym days will work in nicely. Its true there isn't a lot of leg work except as they are being used in the cardio's. I don't think my quads could take any more leg work! So if you can survive more - my hat's off to you. **StepEdith, glad to see you here! are you following the workouts or substituting some? **gogigi I think your substitutions sound good. I have trouble sticking to rotations that are the same week after week. I've only managed 4 weeks that way. But I did the Cathe April rotation and it was not boring at all. I think you'll find this relatively easy to stick with. **Candy - wishing you luck. If you made it through BodyMax, you can do anything. I still think that is the toughest single workout. MIC is certainly, to me, the toughest all cardio workout but I've never attempted to do two CTX cardio sections back to back! I too think the Rhythmic step challenge is fun fun fun. (BTW I did do MIC today and those uneven lunges and over and over the board ending with the push off repeater WORE ME OUT!)-joy

Stargazer,
I have never attempted two CTX cardios back to back either. I am trying to make my workout as intense as the day I'm supposed to do MIC because I don't own that one! I am looking forward to the new workouts that Cathe is filming this summer. I look forward to sticking to this rotation! Have a great rest of the week everyone!

Hi all! I've also started the May rotation this week and like most I workout from Monday to Saturday, so I did some modifications on which workout to start with. Here is my workout schedule for this week:

Mon:power Hour
Tues: MIC (I can finally do the hi-lo and the step workout as designed. The Intensity Series really built up my endurance. Before the Intensity Series, I used to break down doing hi-lo one day and the step 2 days after)
Wed: Bootcamp (wiped me out today! but in a good way)
Thurs: Body Max (will be my first time doing this in its entirety)
Fri: Rhythmic Step
Sat: Circuit Max (will substitute with one of the Terminator workouts coz I don't have CM).

Take care everyone and enjoy your workouts!

Nette

Hello All,

I started this week as well. I typically workout Tuesday through Sunday. Here is what this week looks like:

Mon. - Off
Tues - Power Hour
Wed - MIC
Thursday - Bootcamp
Friday - Rythmic Step
Saturday - BodyMax
Sun - 30 minute run plus 20- 30 minutes of Circuit Max w/out the weights

My weekend workouts usually consist of a 20-30 minute run and 30 minutes of a Cathe cardio workout so I will probably continue with this through out the May Rotation.

I started the May rotation this week and feeling great. Body Max on Monday was no problem as this is one of my favorite tapes. Tuesday, I couldn't wait to do Rythmic Step because this is my overall favorites. But can you believe on Wednesday doing Circuit Max I had a tough time, maybe cause I started it later in the evening. And yesterday doing MIC I had actually no problems - I can actually get through all of it now which makes me really happy. The past few weeks I've really been trying to eat clean and increase my protein intake. I've lost a few pounds and inches.

Now today I am taking off and will probably do Boot Camp tomorrow. I need advise from someone about next week's rotation. I don't own PS Back, Biceps, Abs or PS Chest, Shoulder, Triceps. Does anyone have any suggestions of what other tape I could substitute? I own MIS, Power Hour, Pyramid Upper and Lower and all the CTX tapes. Should I use those parts of the tapes for the days Cathe uses PS tapes? I'm thinking it might be a short day with working those body parts and addding some cardio. Am I on the right track?

Hi Erin and Alexandra, I'm happy to see you here. :) ***You are right on track with your thinking, Erin. The PS BBA and CST are shorter tapes (runs in my mind about 45" although I haven't done them in quite a while. The set up, as I recall is 2 or 3 sets of 10 reps and quite heavy. Cathe uses a 35# barbell for I believe. The idea is that the chest work incorporates some shoulder and the chest and shoulder some triceps so you get a synergy. Same with back and bi's. Also, Cathe encourages you to go heavy and implies at one point that it is okay if you don't get all the reps out. I think that I would probably substitue the CTX parts. You may have to slow the reps down to go a little heavier or else not finish each rep. (In truth it probably would be fine to do the CTX weight work as is) I took a look at my spreadsheets on these two series and the exercises in CTX seem most similar to PS. The only thing to consider is that the ctx series won't take in to account the fact that you have preexhausted the shoulders with the chest work and etc. Also if you do C S T then you get to do TWO sets of PUSH UPS (I hate tricep push ups) I'd skip them, but that's just me)***I don't think I'll be adding any cardio on. I got pretty worn out after the first week so I'm going to 'enjoy' the shorter days and try to go all out on the step routines.-joy

Thanks Joy for the advise. I have to look into getting the PS BBA and CST in the future.

I'm looking forward to everyone's feedback on Cathe's monthly rotations. Think your check-in on Monday's is great.

Thanks again. Erin
