Maternity shirts

OK, am I the only one who hates those stupid strings that you tie in the back on maternity shirts? I hate, hate, hate them!!! I just had my coworker cut them off my shirt a few minutes ago. It would come untied and I wouldn't realize it and of course when I would go potty, it would land in the toilet. Gross!!! I was fortunate to find many shirts without them. The shirt I have on today is really cute but those strings had to go! :+

Dana,
It seems that just a few seasons ago lots of shirts had these little ties, or bigger ties all over the place (in the front, at the neckline, on the arms, in the back --the peasant top craze remember?) Anyway, I could never get the suckers to stay tied, and you can't retie the ones on the arms without taking the whole thing off! So I would tie the prettiest knot that I could in just the right place, take some thread that matched and just sew through the middle of the knot a few times. Presto, no more coming undone ever. If you can still get the shirts on and off with these sewn like this you can always do that to the rest of them.

I actually like the ones that tie in back because this is the only time in my life that I have had nice boobs and the tie shirts accentuate them perfectly:)

I have not had any trouble with them coming untied but I do not wear too many. I usually just wear the cotton tops from Old Navy or Motherhood. My office is ultra-casual, thank goodness.

And they're on the dresses too! YUK!!! My belly is not yet big enough for me to understand why it would be a benefit to have my clothes tied in the back. Maybe I'll be glad for them later, but for now they just remind me of the Holly Hobbie dress I had in 4th grade.
