Maternity Clothes

Ok, I am 12 weeks pregnant and my low rider jeans still fit (how long that remains in question) but, my shirts are clearly getting too short! I am 5'11" and am wondering what to wear for tops. It is not my belly that is poking out, but my chest is now a 36D and I swear my tops all lost 2-3 inches in length. I do not like my belly to show at all. I would love some suggestions on what I should buy for maternity clothes now and for the future. Any help on this matter would be great! It looks like the Gap has great maternity jeans because you can buy them by size and inseam but there has got to be other stores that I am not aware of that have clothes that aren't too pricey but stylish.

Hi.

I purchased almost all of my maternity clothes at Kohls and a few things at Target. Kohl's was cheaper than target and had a lot of cute stuff. I went and got a dressy outfit at Motherhood for a very reasonable price as well but did not buy any casual clothes there-they do sell them tho and looked pretty cute.

Have a great work out!

Hello!
Congrats on your pregnancy. :)

I had much of the same issue with clothes. I'm 5'9". It's hard to find good fitting maternity clothes.

I had the best luck with GAP. I bought some of the stuff at GAP.com and they rest I got through Ebay.com. There are a number of sellers who get the clothes from the GAP outlets and then sell them new for much cheaper than retail. The pant lengths are wonderful - I could still wear my chunky healed boots with them and they fit very well.
GAP is probably your best bet for tops as well.

I suggest that you stay away from Old Navy for your pants and most of the shirts... I bought several pairs of the tall pants and they were too short for me after one washing... I'm certain they would be too short for you ;)

I never had any luck with any clothes from the box stores (Target, Kohls, Carson's, etc) -- all too short.

Hope this helps!

I agree that Kohl's & Target are great places to buy maternity clothes. Matter of fact, I bought 2 pairs for pants at Kohl's for $17 this weekend. They had quite a bit on sale. Their winter stuff was marked down 70%.

Congratulations to you!!!! I never found anything at Target. I bought most of my clothes at Motherhood and Mimi Maternity; the internet site and the store. The jeans are great! I am 5'5" and I had to fold them up, so I think that the lenght would be perfect for you. You can adjust this jeans and use them since you don't really have a belly but don't want any pressure over your abs, until you have a big belly. Stylish blouses and knits are going to be big in your waist area in the beginning but will last until the end.
I also found working clothes at JCPenney (on sale!!!).
Adjustable cotton blouses (with straps in the back) are great but if you buy them in the beginning they are going to look too big. Buy them after you have a good belly.
I used my regular clothes until the 4th month, but started to combine to avoid pressure in my abs and bec. of the size of my breast.
