Marathon training?

Anyone got any help with this one? I finally found a 1/2 marathon that I can get involved in.It will involve traveling by plane but thats one of the advantage of working with a airline:)
I currently run 60-90 min.At a pace of 6 MPH (or 5.6 mph).I think that the marathon is in late May.Is there still enough time to train for this? And how in the world do I go about it? I have never trained for anything before and I wouldn't have a clue where to start.
Thanks in advance,
Lori:)

Hi Lori,

Check out runnersworld.com and coolrunning.com
They have some half marathon training programs that might help you.
If you can already run 60-90 minutes straight, you should have no problem completing a half marathon with a couple months of training.

What half marathon are you planning on running?

I have ran four half marathons, a 15K, and a couple 5 milers. It is a lot of fun.

Hi - I totally agree with Beverly. You should have no trouble at all training for your 1/2 marathon in May, Lori. I used a training program from runnersworld.com last year and it worked out great. It was a blast to run the half and I'm "hoping" to do it again this year, too.

GOOD LUCK! Marcia. :)

Hi ladies,
Thanks for the tips.I found a program on one website. It gives me 3 different programs.I don't understand half of it.It talks about speed and balh, blah, blah.
When I get more time I will do more research but I am also wondering about the nutrition part of it.What did you eat while training and what did you eat the day of the run?
Thanks again,
Lori:)
