For my step WO of choice,I did the WU and 1st 5 int of IMAX 1 followed by the second half of MIC. What a great WO. My HR registered 211 calories which belive it or not is alot for me! I just don't get the high numbers.

DD made the lasagna from the Cathe cookbook. It was delicious. It had a little more meat than I like, b/c that meat pkg in the freezer was more than 1 lb.
Have a good day. Phyllis
:D :D
TK, what do you think of you Rykas? I usually buy New Balance b/c Ihave wide feet. Do the Rykas accomodate wide widths? I'm in the market for new shoes.

Hi, Phyllis. Good workout again today! Thanks for the review on the lasagna. I may have to try it SOON!

TK, I'd also like a review on the Rykas. I am in NEED of a new pair of aerobic shoes, but am stuck with my old faves that I'm wearing right now!

I am back on track today. Missed yesterday's workout all together. My eating has been HORRIBLE for almost a week now. Yesterday's workout was the first I missed in 2 months! BUT, got up early this morning and got moving. I wanted to run on the treadmill, shooting for 6+ miles, but by mile 2, my right shin was killing me, so I hopped off and did PUB. I would like to get some cardio in sometime today, but it's always tough during the day. We'll see.

How is everybody today????

Gayle

Hi!
Gayle- I am sorry your workut didn't go well. Perhaps you need new shoes?

Phyllis- I do wear Rykas and have a very wide foot. (d width) I wear the gym trainer leather and they are great. Just do not use them on the treadmill. They feel awful for running. But for any other cardio they are great. I have worn Nwe Balance in the past ans I prefer this style of Ryka.

I'm rearrangeing the workouts this week to fit in 3 runs:

M-4.5 mile run, PUB abs only
T- PUB all sets (no abs) PLB up only Tennis
W-4.5 mile run, PUB abs only
T- PLB up only, IMAX2 1-5
F- 4.5 mile run, PUB abs only
S-PUB (No abs), 30" 'Cathe' cardio.

Hey, Judy. My sneakers ARE new, lol. Brand new, as in less than 100 miles run on them. But...this happens to me every now and then. When I take too much time off between runs (specifically long runs), my shins start to ache like that. I probably could have run thru the pain and it would have eventually subsided, but I just wan't in the mindset this morning to run thru it!

I'm also going to be adding OUTSIDE runs to my rotation this week. Keeping everything else the same, just simply adding in runs when/where I can. I have my half marathon coming up the end of April and need to get my legs used to the pavement a bit more.

I'm curious. I know Cathe hasn't posted an April rotation yet, but are any of you thinking YET about what you want to do once March is over? I was thinking about it this morning. I really want to work LEGS in April, getting ready for shorts. But I also want to work on toning my upper body more as well, specifically my biceps and triceps. I develop in the shoulders and chest tremendously, but leave a lot to be desired in thebi/tri area. Any thoughts yet???

Gayle

Well, I will see what Cathe comes up with for april. I have been doing her rotations since Jan and really like the structure. Cathe puts great thought into he rroations and it seems mre evident as I live thru them.

Gayle can you push your legs and still train for a long race? I'm just curious. My running expereince is very limited.

Judy-I also love the structure of following a rotation, so it April's rotation isn't what I'm looking for, then I am going to pick another one geared for my goals.

As for training my legs and running, my answer is a "yes, but carefully." LOL. My running experience is also only limited, as I've only been running for about 9 months. But, I know what my body can and can't do (most of the time). During my marathon training, my legs were fine with the increasing mileage and lower body weight workouts (usually 2x per week heavy), UNTIL I stopped the lower body weight work. It seems strange, but the week I stopped doing LB weights, the following week I started with knee problems. Did the marathon, recooped and when I began running and LB weights again, I was fine. Go figure. I'm not worried about the half, either. I know I can do that distance, and I'm not focussed on time (yet), but I'll still be careful not to overwork.

WOW....I'm chatty today! LOL

Gayle

OK...Younger DS is at an impromptu playdate until after older DS gets back from school. SO...I'm having lunch, scrapbooking just a TAD, then I'm changing into running clothes and shoes, driving to the school and running for 1 hour before I pick older DS and his friend up (normal Tuesday playdate for him). 1 hour of running, COMING RIGHT UP!

SORRY to ramble today, ladies, I am just HYPED UP that my food-cravings have subsided and the "mood" has lifted. How much damage do you think I did with 4 1/2 days of BAD BAD BAD eating? LOL

Gayle

Good afternoon everyone. This morning was PUB. Funny story, on the top of the pyramid for biceps I was really struggling. After being so proud of myself for keeping up with Cathe in GS last week this was bursting my little bubble! Anyway, I looked down and I had picked up 20# dumbbells instead of 15#. Well duh.

Phyllis: This morning I wore the Rykas the first time. They will need a little breaking in as they feel just a little stiff. The true test will be tomorrow's cardio. I also have a wide foot and although these shoes were not D width they fit me just fine. I can sometimes get away with a B width if I wear thinner socks. I went to DSW to buy them (they are in the shopping center near the junction of I-95/273 - where Boscovs, Joann Fabric is). DSW has a large selection of athletic shoes. I like that store because I don't have to wait for someone to wait on me!

This morning again I woke up with some pain on the inside of my right ankle. After I started moving around for 5 or 10 minutes it totally disappeared. Really strange.

Hello ladies,

I re-arranged the workouts this week to fit my new schedule. Today i did 60 min run/walk on treadmill and after i finish eating lunch i am going to do kickmax. I am so mad at myself, i bought a nutrition bar to work with me as i am only there from 8:30-12:30. Everyone breaks for a snack, they are eating pop-tarts and doritos, etc. I think i am so smart because i have my nutrition bar, welllllll unfornately it wasn't enough and the hunger set in so i had pop-tarts. haven't eaten those in such a long time but just because someone else had them i had to have them. i am so p.o.'ed at myself. tomorrow i will have to bring more healthy food with me.

Gayle-i too had a very bad eating week the week before last. it set me back as i didn't loose any weight:-( . However all we can do is move forward. i too have been pondering what rotation i will do next month. it always gets me motivated to do something new. I will wait until cathe's comes out. i am also interested in the feb'06 rotation. a-jocke's strength rotation and fitness freak's endurance rotation. hmmmmmm decisions, decisions:)

Tk- i am glad to hear nothing was seriously wrong with your ankle.
