Mamas to Be Check In July 30th!!!

Hi, Mamas,

Just decided to start the thread this week. How is everyone doing? I did not workout yesterday (my usual workout day). I was really exhausted for some reason. I've been sleeping in really late lately . . .I know I'm supposed to start getting tired again here, so I'm not worried about it. Plus, school is starting up again here soon (I'm a teacher), so I'm going to take advantage of being able to sleep in for one more week.

Well, off to . . . nap? Hee hee . . .

Mama Chicas,

Hope all is well. Like Chrissy, I've been sleeping in later than usual so my morning workouts have been cut short or I've had to combine morning with evening. Still getting it in, but nothing to write home about.

Feeling okay, but getting bigger fast (25 weeks).

Anyone here remember if they felt their abdominal muscles separate? If so, what was that like? This is my first so I have no clue. I've been doing some modified ab work and feel strong but have felt a strange bruised feeling just above my belly button. It looks like a slight indent there too...but I don't see or feel a separation line when I do the diastasis recti test that I found online. So, not sure what's up??

Chrissy, enjoy sleeping in while you can...the vivid dreams are well worth it. :)

Good night ladies, have a great week!

Steph

Hello all,

I introduced myself a few check-ins ago and then dropped off the face of the planet - things got busy with family visiting and whatnot.

This is a big week for us! We hit the half-way mark, and our big ultrasound is Thursday - hoping everything looks all right and we can find out the gender.

I envy you ladies sleeping in! I have not been sleeping well and wake-up between 6-7 every morning.

Only had two Cathe workouts last week, but lots of walking. Did 2 of the Timesaver workouts yesterday and will try to do 1-2 of them today as well. I never use that DVD, so I figured I should try to get some of my money's worth. I do find that I need more warm-up now than Cathe gives - I can't just start right-in anymore.

I'm also a little worried about my ab muscles separating, no sign of it yet, but I'm just starting to look pregnant now, so we'll see how it goes as I grow!

Hello everyone! I wish I was sleeping better! I am tired all the time, but I'm having a hard time getting comfortable and staying asleep at night. I'm worried what the last trimester is going to be like if I'm already suffering.

I walked and did Turbo Sculpt yesterday. I'm not sure if I will have time to get in a workout today. I was up late last night and couldn't get up early to workout this morning. :(

I finally have my "big" ultrasound scheduled for the 23rd, so I'm looking forward to that. I'll probably have to go by myself, since Dh will be watching the other two. It's funny, Dh didn't miss an appointment with the first; at least made the big ultrasound with the second; and will probably miss everything (hopefully not the birth!) with the third. Personally, I'd rather just pick up the baby at the hospital myself, but no such luck. LOL! ;-)

Talk to you later!

Hey, ladies,

I did my workout this morning - hurray! I did the cardio section of Denise Austin's Fit and Firm Pregnancy twice for a total of 40 minutes. I'm happy about that but the entire time, I kept thinking of all the things around the house that I want to change/finish, and it was driving me CRAZY! That nesting instinct thing is really getting stronger and stronger the closer I get to delivery! Eek!

I don't remember feeling my abs separate, and to tell you the truth, I have no idea if they have or not. I remember reading something about how to tell, but it seemed like I couldn't feel anything when I did it. I guess I'll just have to wait until after delivery.

Sleeping isn't horrible third tri, it just takes a while to get comfortable, but once I DO get comfortable, I'm sleeping pretty heavily. For me, it's the heartburn that makes me so uncomfortable.

For you ladies getting ready for your big "20 week" ultrasound, are you planning to find out the gender? We LOVED finding out the gender. We just hope that she really IS a girl because we have soooo many girly things now! Hee hee!

Chrissy

Hey gang,

Sounds like everybody's doing well :) I've decided that getting ready to move is a sport in and of itself - especially if you're 6 months prego. I've been good about still getting in my 5-6 workouts a week, but haven't done anyhting in 2 days ... the first one was a rest day (we had our new house closing and walk-through, and yesterday I kept throwing up all my drinks, so I had mega Braxton Hicks from being a bit dehydrated. Hope fully today I can get a good hour in on the elliptical.

Yes - finding out the gender was so exciting! I know some people prefer not to, but I don't think I would be able to stand the suspense knowing that I could find out. We're having a little boy and have named him Nico. Nico is Italian for Nicholas; our good friend who introduced us is named Nick and DH is Sicilian.

Steph - I saw some of those indentations you were talking about in the belly gallery on the ovusoft forum. They look like a little shelf right before your bump starts ... you may want to wander over there and compare tummies.

Take care,
arancini

Hey all,

We did found out the sex, and we're having a girl. :) We hope they're right too, things will be pretty interesting if a boy pops out...but we're telling people on his side that it *could* be a boy (20% chance). Just so no one is shocked on his side, they have a boy obsession/desire and it's become competitive (long story). My side has all boy grandchildren so they're thrilled to hear it's a girl. We still just call the baby "Sprout" because we still don't feel convinced either way...Sprout is cute and pretty neutral as a nickname. Though sometimes it's Sproutina. ;-)

Arancini, I love the name Nico, it's adorable. I had a crush on a Nico in 5th grade, he was gorgeous. Congrats on the new house and the move!! Girl you're a trooper - wow. I do hope you feel better soon.

We're looking at homes now too, we're hoping to get out of where we are soon. No nesting for me yet b/c our aim is to be out of our current house. We're renting and still haven't found the right house, the market here is awful so we're glad we don't have to sell. I'm sooo hoping we don't wind up moving at the last minute...or worse, get stuck in our current place and squished. Oy. I'm sure we'll deal either way but we hope to find a place real soon.

Anyway, Yay for you for getting out with time to spare! Great timing. :)

I'll check out the ovusoft gallery, thanks for the tip!

Steph

Steph -

Congratulations on Sproutina! It's so exciting to know, isn't it? For me, it made the little guy jumping around inside more real.

The housing market is getting ready for its seasonal shift right now, so that may or may not make things easier for you :) Apparently, everybody is desperate to buy something before the school year begins, so you may get a better deal on a house after the air clears later this month and beyond. Less competition from other buyers for listings, but also possibly fewer new listings going up every week. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you - I'm sure you'll find a great place.

Nico is doing a little dance on my bladder - gotta go :)

Thanks Arancini (& Nico), for the well wishes and housing tip too! Yes it is exciting knowing who that little person is...definitely makes it more real. :)

The housing market is wacky here, tonight we talked about possibly getting into another rental home for now that's bigger, more modern, is a good commute location and still relatively cheap...then we'd watch the prices hopefully decline. We don't want our desperation (time wise) to get us into a bad deal where we feel squeezed. People here seem to think that the market will be flooded in the next year due to all the people defaulting on their loans (don't want to default ourselves - yikes!).

Homes have been severely over priced in New England so it's going to effect a lot of people, unfortunately.

Not sleeping much these days...Sproutina is clearly nocturnal, loves to do her aerobics when I'm trying to get some shut eye. So...I'm up trying to write a report for work. May as well take advantage. :p

Have a great weekend, I'm sure you're unpacking and setting up. That's always fun. Enjoy!
