Lunges hurt my feet!

What am I doing wrong? Whenever I do lunges (static or the ones with your rear foot elevated) absolutely kill my feet! It hurts really bad right where my foot bends. I've tried different shoes and going barefoot, but it hurts so bad I have to avoid those movements. I couldn't make it all the way through the lunges in LL because of this. (I can do walking lunges with no problem.)

Does anyone else have this problem? I can do stationary lunges with my rear foot elevateed on a box, but with the top of my foot facing down (so my foot isn't bent) and I have no problems. Can I just do the lunges this way?

I did. My calves and feet would hurt big time. I had to change my shoes to New Balance cross trainers that had a very tight heel. I tried them on in the store and did some lunges. I was shocked! Now I can do some lunges.

Keta. :D

Are you talking about the bottom of your foot hurting? If not It sounds like you might have shin splints - try to do some stretches for the shins - do you have flat feet - I do and sometimes certain moves hurt and you just have to avoid or modify the exercises that give you problems - Also, you just have to experiment with different shoes - believe it or not, the best shoes I have found are Nike walking shoes - I am able to do aerobics in them and have found that these types of shoes work best for me.
