Lower Body/Freestyle Rotation - 5/10

Cathlete
Hi everyone!

Well - I'm in week 4 of still waiting for my book. I called early last week and they assured me that the book was on it's way. I really need it too, since I have gained back 2 of the 5 pounds I lost.

I'm trying to decide what workouts to do this week to get back on track. Any input would be helpful. I have all of the Intensity Series plus L&G/KPC.

Man, I can't stand starting out the week in a hole.

Hope you all are doing much better.

Hi Shopgirl
So sorry your having to wait so long for your book, gee, mine got to me in less than a week......
I am at my goal in weight loss, I am just working on toning and definition now. I am still doing the rotations in the book and will keep doing so............ have a great day God bless... Rhonda :7

Morning,

Shopgirl, how bout a week of just Cardio 7 days. You could always through in Circuit Max or something like that to mix things up a bit. Just me .02 cents ;o)

Yesterday, I did Abs and walked 20 laps FAST on the track

Tonight, Abs, Lower Body and 16 laps. I’m not sure if I want to do freestyle or Cathe yet. I’ll see how I feel once home tonight.

I’m really starting to see the progress, abs, hips and thighs are slimming nicely. Even my guy has noticed. I called Beach Body on Friday, they shipped my order on the 5th that way fast considering how others are waiting. I hope I get them before the week is out ;o)
Have a great day all.

Shopgirl -

I started restructuring, this is what I'm going to try in order to get more cardio and abs and include leg work.

Monday - PUB plus PUB abs. Total = 60 min.
Tuesday - 45 mins KPC plus 20 mins ankle weights premix. Total = 60
Wednesday - PS Chest, Shoulders and Triceps plus L&G standing premix. Total = 60 min.
Thursday - active rest, 20 mins abs.
Friday - Circuit Max (without upper body moves) including plank section (50 min cardio). Total = 60 min.
Saturday - Cardio Kicks (45 minutes cardio) plus ME lower body premix. Total = 70 min.
Friday - Powerstrike 1 (50 minutes cardio) plus PLB up only premix incl hamstring ball work. Total = 70 min.

Thanks ladies. I really value your input. I'll pump up the cardio and do some isolated leg work (squats, lunges, leg presses) each day.

When you are working from the book, what is the amount in each set - 15? 30? and how many sets of each exercise do you do?

I'm working on cleaning up the eating as well -

and, THAT, is the hard part for me ;)

Thanks again for all your advice.

Hi Ladies,

I am back and ready to do some leg work this week. I did get 33 miles of running in last week. No weight training though. It was great to see my parents and be of some support and help to them last week.

It is a run and L&G tonight. I did not have much time to read my Freestyle book.

So much to do, so little time...

Hubby leaves next week and I also start my new job next week!!!

Have a great day!!

It sounds like everyone is doing great..

Shopgirl -

I really feel for you. The irony is, the less you have to lose, the harder it is. Actually, that goes without saying but sometimes I just need to remind myself.

I'm changing my eating this week as well. Really cutting the calories and upping the cardio just to see if something budges. I can't complain about how my body is looking, though! I've been seeing improvements.

Hi Shopgirl
The rotations that I use, 2 set, 15 reps.... the reverse lunges I do 4 sets of 15 reps.......... I also do 6 set of 25 reps of rope squats, and the butt blasters........ added to my regular stuff.... Rhonda:7

Hey - guess what?

I just spoke with Laura from Slimandfit.com and the book is on its way.

Will be thrilled if I'm as successful as you ladies have been.

Happy Tuesday Ladies,

And indeed a happy day for me. I stepped on my scale and down another 3lbs. I’m suppose to go to my WW meeting again tonight, but I’m not. I’ll go next Tuesday.

I had a fantastic workout yesterday, It started at the track, for 12 laps, wanted to do more but it started to rain, arghhhh…..went home and decided to climb the stairs and I did it 7 fights of stairs 8 times straight no breaks. Then did Abs and lower body free style. After I finished took a hot bubble bath and called it a day

Tonight, Abs, MIS upper body. What are you guys doing?

Teddygirl~~

Pardon my French Teddygirl, but HOLY CRAP!

Your results on this rotation have been amazing. What do you think it is about this workout that is so effective?

I should get my book on Thursday and am so eager to resculpt my lower body. Are you following any specific eating plan or workout pattern? Details, details please ;-)

I am really impressed. Good for you.

- Shopgirl :7

p.s. oops - forgot to say, this morning I did Firm 5 day abs and PUB in its entirety. My arms are dead.

Good for you Teddygirl!

I haven't gotten on the scale or measured yet (I'm too afraid) but my clothes are fitting better. I thought I'd do the scale and measure thing on Friday.

I woke up late this morning so I did Circuit Max again. I like that workout because it's geared towards cardio but I can work my legs at the same time. Then I did 25 walking lunges without weights. I probably could have done 25 more but didn't want to overdue. I will try 50 next time.

My legs feel surprisingly well for being worked out so much! How about you guys?

It's nice to have Beverly back. Hopefully we'll hear from her today!

Shopgirl, the key is to *FOCUS* on your portions when eating, controlling my portions has really helped me, in a big way. I follow Weight Watchers to the T. For most days never using my total points, that’s giving according to one’s weight, or my activity points, which you can swap these point for more food.

Too, I never used the 35 extra Flex Points that you are allowed each week. You can use them in addition to your scheduled points.

One thing has really helped me and that is the free styling. I have always, while doing Cathe’s lower body tapes, used the heaviest weights possible (and only get bigger thighs) which was okay, but I couldn’t shed the fat to show the muscles. Like last nights I did PS legs & Abs (only a few exercises) I didn’t use any weights and got a great workout. Thanks to Rhonda ;o) for introducing me to free styling.

I believe watching my portions and working legs more has really helped me.

Candi, I know what you mean. I’m scared to step on the scale too. Especially when I have worked out so hard all week and the scale doesn’t move, this use to really FREAK me. Just stay focused and watch your portions. I’m going to get the book soon.

Did you order P90x yet? I did, they CLAIM they shipped it out to me on the May 5th. I shall see. When I get them, I’m going to start another 12 week rotation with P90x and of course Cathe.

Man oh man, those walking lunges don’t you just love them ;o) does this exercise target and lift the butt?

Teddygirl~~

Teddygirl
I agree, portion control, you have to do it, doesn't mean you can't eat most of the things you like, just have to watch how much of it you eat.
I also use very low weights.. with all my lower body exercise I use nothing over 10lbs........ I do between 2 and 4 sets of 15 reps..
And for the past month or 5 weeks, I have been doing only the rotations in the book. The main exercises I do are for the butt and hips...........people don't realize they can really live on less food than what they eat, its takes time adjusting how much you do eat....... Rhonda :7

Weight Watchers is great. I went on this diet when I was 35 and lost several pounds and never felt hungry. I tried it again but nothing budged this time!

;(

That's okay. I'm still feeling optimistic:D . If my diet were any cleaner this week, I'd be squeaking.

Walking lunges are supposed to be one of the best exercises for the butt. I'll try alternating with and without light weights and see what feels best!

I have not ordered P90X yet. I thought I'd wait until coupons were available again. If they don't come out, I'll probably still order it in June.

So .. light (or no) weights, hmmm, you know I hate to say it, but it sounds a lot like the Firm. The last time I did the Body for Life program (before I knew about Cathe), I did it using the Firm and Tae Bo solely. Legs were worked everyday with light weights. Man, did I have great results.

I am going to my first Weight Watchers meeting on Friday at lunchtime. If you sign up this month, they waive the registration fee. I have never done it, but it has always been the eating that's done me in. I can exercise forever.

All of your comments are encouraging. I haven't ordered P90x, but after reading back threads on this topic, will order Cathe's Circuit Max/Cardio Kicks dvd and Power Hour/MIS dvd to help with the Freestyle.

Thanks for all the advice. You ladies are wonderful.

- Shopgirl :)

Shopgirl, I was a Firm believer to, still am ;o) then I found Cathe. I still have all my Firm Tapes. My crazy a$$ boyfriend looked in my closet and said why don’t you get rid of these Firm tapes since you don’t use them. I almost slapped him ;o)

I think you’re going to like WW. You just have to plan your meals, which I’m sure you already do. When you go ask them if you can take advantage of the FREE 2 week WW e-tools online. I did and loved it. I’m thinking about signing up for 3 months, with the 20% off.

Today: I’m not sure if I want to workout. This just maybe a Rest day for me. I shall see once I get home tonight. Have a good evening all.
