Hi everyone, Im a new user and glad to be one! I have a question for anyone that can help me. I workout 5 days a week doing both cardio and weight training. I also use cathe's workout dvd's. I would die for a six packs and whatever I do doesnt seem to be enough to form one. Could anyone tell me what I have to do to get one? I do have definition in my upper stomach but I always have a little pouch comming from my lower stomach. THIS DRIVES ME INSANE!! Does anyone have any pointers on how to get rid of this and form a flat lower stomach.
Thank You
:(

Great abs are built in the kitchen. Watch your diet. Also, long ab sessions are not needed and you don't need to do abs every day. Some here do abs once a week. Make sure your ab routine is varied and challenging. If you can do more than 15-20 reps of an ab move, you need to use weights with the move.

Also remember there is no such thing as "lower abs." Your abs are two muscles running the length of your torso. There are exercises that can target the lower area of the muscles, but pretty much any ab exercise you do works the "lower" abs.

I train my abs twice a week--once w/weights & once w/pilates. But like Ima said, the key for me is diet.

Thanks for your input guys!....Ima, I just looked at your pictures, your body is amazing. What kind of diet do you follow to get your stomach in such great shape?
thanks again!

Why is it that the most important solution to this, so darn hard to do. I eat fairly well, but I could definitely eat cleaner.

I also have the upper abs defined and the lower pooched out.

I hate it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me too. Nothing like having definition when you can't show it off because of your pooch!
I think we should blame Paris!!!:7

Poor Paris--I think she's being blamed for global warming too. :7

Lower abs is my problem area too. All I need to do is gain 5 lbs to have the pooch. Diet is the only thing that works for me, & to tell you the truth I can gain or lose 5 lbs in a matter of days. So I'm slightly, minorly, just a bit obsessive about it. :p

But you get used to it & the results are well worth it. :)
