Low Max and Imax2

Hi Guys,

Just wondering how long it took you to master the moves in these videos. I am trying to get into Low Max and it is getting frustrating. (I am only at Interval three).I am also going to buy Imax2, but I hear that the choreography is really complicated? Am I alone in my frustration?

They can be tricky at first but you will get them. Try doing the step only premixes to get the combinations familiar. It will come with time. And when you have learned the step routines you will really like those workouts!

Once you do them a few times you'll get them. Don't get frustrated. It takes some practice. Then it is so much fun!:D Kali

Yes, practice, practice. I have mastered some of the segments on both but some still give me trouble. I just figure every time I do them, I'll get a little more of it.

Here is what I do and it works for me. I will do the workout and on parts I can't get I do my own move and watch cathe until she does something I "get" then I join in with her. I repeat this through out the workout and eventually after a few times of doing the workout I get it. This way I keep moving and get to learn at the same time;

I don't find the choreography in IMAX2 to be complicated.
I always make sure to watch the workout at least once before doing it, and if I see a move that looks tricky, I count it out (most moves are based on an 8 count) and make sure I know what foot goes where on each count. I'm pretty good at working through moves in my head, then being able to do them once I try them..

Imax2 is also better cued than Low Max or Imax 3. I usually get 85% of Cathe's moves after my preview (from having "grown up" with Cathe workout wise, starting with Step in Motion 3) and the few I don't, I pick up by the third rep of the move. But in Low Max,which I found a bit frustratiing at first as well, there were a couple of places where the cuing is late, or the cue doesn't fit the move in my mind ("knee smash repeater" to me means 3 knee smashes in a row, NOT "knee, side kick, knee", and the "triples around the step" come easier when I think "step-step-triple-triple" to be sure to get those first two steps in before "tripling"), or is missing altogether (one spot around the second interval where Cathe links two sequences together, but doesn't cue at the link point, and kind of acts like she forgot what to say).

What's nice about Imax2 as well is that in the intro to the workout, Cathe gives us a heads-up on some of the trickier moves, telling us how to approach them.

Imax 2 is also lots of fun!
