Low Carbers & Friends - Sept 09

I'm here! Melinda started a Sept thread for us, but called it cardio challenge like her old one. I think it got lost though, I haven't seen it for a while.

I have not worked out for a long long time. But good old MM got me back in the mode. All it takes is a OMG look at the scale and then I'm motivated. Dh was sick all weekend, so I took it real easy and slept and cooked and ate what I cooked, bad me, bad me.

I'm starting back up tomorrow, since I had a massage today and no chance before to workout. No sure what I'll do, but I've got to do something good and sweaty.

Have a great rest of the evening.

Hi babes! I'll try to find Melinda if I can. Thanks for starting this new thread Lita!

Rhea, we have cookie dough residing in this house waiting to be baked. That's the worst temptation for me! Was it your high school reunion you went to? I didn't go to my last one, I may go to the next one but I don't keep in touch with anyone so it may not be much fun! :p

I have had trouble getting 4 workouts in per week for months it seems. I do well one week, but not the next and my motivation to get a workout in on a weekend is rarely there. I think I need for the weather to cool down so I won't be doing wimpy hikes with DH anymore and can kick it up a notch!

Did Cathe's Power Hour today. That kicked me up a notch!

Oh boy - I saw that thread but of course, without the LC in it, I was oblivious to it being this thread .... Obviously vacation did NOT increase my brain power !

Rhea - Hope you find your groove again soon :). I'm sorry DH was sick - but I'm very happy he didn't make YOU sick !

Tracy - The heat is a definite detractor from exercise, so don't be hard on yourself! I don't know that I want hikes to be classified as "wimpy" since I'm banned from impact ! Walking, hikes, etc still count for me, but maybe that's because they have to be good enough now ....

Hmm, cookie dough huh? Yep, I made cookies this weekend, they were called Mudslide Cookies....omg....talk about chocolate! They were a cookie mix from King Arthur Flour...I won't get them again, since they don't make that much and they are really sweet. But I ate them of course.

Well of course you did, Rhea - otherwise, why bother :p? Did you have some PNB with them???? That would've cut back on the sweetness - and of course, PNB and chocolate are a killer combo  ;)!

Well, you could always make them again  :p ..... or maybe find something else that would do in a pinch so you don't now have a hankering that won't go away ;)....

Well, here I am! Yes, I accidently started the other thread not thinking about the title. Then we went camping over Labor Day, so I've been gone awhile.

So I finished up meso 3 last Friday. I am in active recovery, which I included the B&G leg blast premix. I know, doesn't sound like active recovery, but it was more endurance than anything. I have to say there was a time when I'd stop that workout before it was over, but STS has changed that. I made it all the way through.

I am not ready to get back to STS, so maybe I'll try some of these workouts you all have been doing. We'll see.

As for eating, today was a BAD day for me. I try to keep "crap" food calories to 400 or less/day (or around that), but today I ate peanut M&M's, a Reeces p.b. cup, homemade p.b. cookie, 4 small packaged cookies AND some apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. Good grief. Now I feel all bloated.

On a positive note, my son that came back from CA finally got a job. He'll be back at Best Buy! Starts this Saturday. Things are slowly turning around. I hope he can stay on the upward path, that kid has been in a black hole for 2 1/2 years now. He has his hair cut a lot shorter and took the piercings out (on his own). Still has lots of scrapes and scars from his scooter accident in CA, but those will fade over time.

Hi babes! Lita, you are too funny! I call them wimpy hikes because they are pretty much flat and we don't walk for long.

Glad you found us Melinda! I baked the cookies that were in the fridge and ate one of them. I'm proud I kept it to one! :p They are chocolate chip, my favorite! My excuse to bake them? DH was eating the cookie dough! Now, I definitely have days where I eat a lot of crap. Those days are usually Saturdays and Sundays, hee hee!

Congratulations on DS getting a job! And making some adult decisions too. Looks like he is adapting to the ways of the world. Good for him!

I've been thinking about starting STS again, and now you've just finished it up Melinda! I don't think B&G is active recovery either--that's a hard workout! Today I let Maximum Intensity Strength kick my butt. I'm still increasing the weights in the workouts I do and giving myself DOMS but I hope I do better with STS next time. :D

Here's to a cookie free weekend for us all! Hahahahahaha! I crack myself up.

Tracy, did you buy one of those tubs of cookie dough. We just bought some yesterday that has reeces p.b. pieces in the dough. Hmmm, I'm on a chocolate/p.b. kick. Going to try to be good today

Melinda - So glad to see you :D! Sorry I was such a dufus over the original thread !

Tracy - Most of my walking involves hills but believe me, it's not anywhere challenging like Cathe cadio is . The bike can be more challenging but it makes me ache more so... Getting old & achy is not for sissies !

Oh my - where is everyone ?

Don't tell me ... you're all off eating peanut butter & chocolate without me, aren't you :p?

I"ve been off hiding among the peaches, pears, and apples. My goodness, there is a gazillion of them at my house. (and I mean a gazillion)

Started back up the workouts today after a long time off. Am doing the CLX rotation again. I don't thing there are any obstacles for continuing the rotation. I probably will add or substitute along the way, but heck, it is a rotation of some sort.

I am back to sts! Started with Meso 1 this time. I was happy these workout are only around 50 min long. I have done the first two for week 1. I noticed a different guy is in the first meso compared to the second 2. Didn't notice that the first time around. I wonder if he got hurt or something.

Rhea, we have a ton of pears too and it actually cracked some of the branches on the tree! We planted an apple tree, but it will be several years before we get anything.

Will be busy tomorrow, but will try to check in sometime this week.

PS - DH made no bake cookies! UGH, so hard to resist!

Today was rest day for the CLX rotation, which is actuallly good since I had so much lactic acid from yesterday. Plus day from (*&% at work, didn't even have time to try and think about working out. Came home and played some golf. Felt like the staypuff marshmellow guy, so got plenty of motivation to keep working out and eating right. (blew that yesterday with wine and chocolate!)

Have a great rest of the evening everyone!

Hi babes! No, we didn't buy a tub of cookie dough, we aren't allowed to have those! :p I managed to have a couple more cookies and DH ate the rest. No surprise there!

Lita, I am sorry you are achy!! :( Hills are always a challenge for me, that's why us chickies at work only walk on flat ground at lunch. :) Are you doing any kind of rotation right now?

Rhea, good for you getting a rotation going! I'm gonna get a couple of workouts in this week and hoping to get another one in but it's been difficult getting any extra in lately! I'm happiest with myself if I get 4 workouts in a week. Hope you don't have any more bad days at work!

Wow Melinda, STS again for you! You definitely ROCK! I'm getting through my other workouts and getting my mind geared up for STS again. (If I don't get to all of them, I may just be putting some on the good 'ol shelf of dust!) I've tried to keep my strength gains up since STS so I am looking forward to doing it again. I'm hoping it won't kick my booty so hard the second time around. Oh, who am I kidding? Cathe always kicks my booty! :D

Gym Style upper body premixes today. Ooooweeeee! They hurt.

Melinda - Wow! You must be loving STS !

Rhea - I know that marshmallow feeling all too well ...

Tracy - I'm sorta doing Cathe's Aug rotation - just walking instead of her cardio choices and of course a lot of modifications for things I can't do on the lower body. I've never done GS premixes (are we surprised :p?) - but GS is in next week's line up and when it comes to those despicable push ups, I'm tempted ;)!

Hello all!

Squeezed in Burn #2 today before haircut. Supposed to a cardio tomorrow, but just don't know which one yet. The one listed in the CLX rotation or something different? Too many choices.

Hi babes! I think the GS upper body premixes (the timesavers) are a great all around workout that doesn't make you do 72 push ups! But you still do alot of 'em....

I think I printed the August rotation but then forgot about it. :p I'll take a look again, if I remember! I Was thinking of doing 4 DS next week but we'll see what I feel like doing!

What cardio did you end up doing Rhea?

GS Legs today. I'll be feeling the pain tomorrow since I did the whole %$@#! workout!

Now my friend is selling cookie dough for her son's school!! Will the temptation never end?!?
