Low Carbers & Friends - January

Hi Everyone,

OK, I have just decided to do the 4DS stuff this week. Fri I did chest/back + HIS cardio. Today I am going to be B&G for legs. Sunday will be 4DS stuff, rest of upperbody work and one of the cardios, then I'm out of town for work again super early on Monday.

Rhea, I sometimes can get all my laundry folded between the rest times in Meso 2 & 3, which is nice. I also have at times rushed through the end, which Cathe says not to do, but I am ready to be finished. I do like the shorter reps and heavier weights. I'm glad she introduced that in STS. I feel it has benefited me more than the previous workouts.

Lita, I think you really could do the 30/30 without the step. Just do the moves but right on the floor. I will sometimes follow the lines on my workout mats for tapping, etc and don't use the step.

Tracy, how are you doing?

Hi babes! I have been thinking about you all, even though I haven't been able to get here like I want to!

Lita, I agree with Melinda about 30/30--no step is really needed for it if you don't want to use it. I will not be using an 8 inch step next time either--no way! (Thanks for that advice Melinda!) There is jumping in it so be aware of that Lita!

Rhea, enjoy working without the boss! I loved it when my boss was gone at my old job and in fact, haven't missed working with him one iota! I like meso 2 and 3 better because of the rest periods! They are not as frantic as meso 1. :D

I did Cardio Core Circuit the other day and felt it was like all blasts from IMAX 3, yikes! It's all floor cardio but I have to modify alot to keep the HR from going really high. Got tomato head again though! Will have to modify it always or I'll have the ol' dread factor with it and I don't want that!

Think I'll do an easier cardio today, one that doesn't make my HR go nuts! I'll give Step Moves another shot.

Melinda, hope everything goes great for you out of town!

Have a great week babes!

Thanks, everyone :D! I did do the 30/30 once but don't remember a whole lot about it . I do remember a lot of jumping, though, not to mention sequential power kicks that I can NOT do anymore :(. Perhaps I'll tackle it tomorrow instead of MMA: Boxing but it remains to be seen what mood I'll be in tomorrow morning ;). Or maybe I'll try 40/20 instead since it doesn't have quite as much jumping (or so it appears....). Hmmm - too many decisions !

Okay, gang, good news and bad news !

The bad news is that I apparently didn't go far enough on dvd to get all the drills in HiiT 40/20 (& most likely the pyramid one, too). So there's only about half of them on my list.

The good news is that I did 40/20 and really liked it ! Yes, it has impact but I was able to modify by using a MUCH :p shorter step and by really keeping my knees bent.

Even though I don't remember much of 30/30, I'm still gonna say I like this one a whole lot better. For days I'm feeling a bit energetic, it may even rival MMA: Boxing for the top slot ;).

Of course, given my moods, this is all subject to change the next time I do it :p :D  ..... I can guarantee, however, that I haven't a clue how they get the whole way to the floor & back up with extra moves TWICE in the workout. It's all I can do to get to the floor & just back up in that time without any extra moves, lol!

Yeah Lita! I'll have to tackle 40/20 one of these days.

I ended up doing Step Moves yesterday and the legs disc this morning. Yes, I said this morning. I actually got up out of bed and worked out. Whew.

Oh and the other day....uh....Monday....when I did the shoulders, triceps, yada, yada, I added on the 22 minute Tracie Long workout for ....oh shoot, I can't remember the name of the full length workout. I think it was Staying Power, but I did the shorter mix one with the medicine ball cardio for your upper body. It was fun to do TL workout again. Just her on the set with those fun moves, darn that medicine ball...I almost always lose it when passing under my leg.

Well, back to work.

I think you'll like it, Rhea ! I will admit I made a mistake doing it the day after the last leg workout of Meso 2, though . I probably could've used a taller box on some like the Running Man but my legs were just too tired !

Way to go on that morning workout :D!!!! I am very impressed! My medicine ball and stability ball always seem to have minds of their own ....

BTW - glad to see you - I was getting lonely here all by myself :(!

Yep, I can't play very much since work is so darn busy, but like right now, I don't wanna work...so I'm playing. :D Well, since I'm all out of witty things to say....I'm back to pretending to work. Hi ho, hi ho, its off to work I go..........

Hi babes! I'm sorry you were feeling lonely Lita! I was planning to be here last night but ended up in a marathon phone conversation with a friend I hadn't talked to in months. I think it was a record--2 hours and 44 minutes! :p

Lita, I'm so glad to hear that you like 40/20! I'm not so scared of it now! :D Maybe I can fit it in next week but it will be another challenge time- wise darn it! Grrr. As much as I like getting weekly massages, it is definitely cutting onto my workout time! I'm hoping my muscles will start relaxing more and more (soon!) so I won't need to go so often.

Excellent job getting your workout(s) done in the a.m. Rhea! I wish I had the motivation to do that but it only happens on my days off! And not so early in the day either! I haven't even previewed Tracie's new workouts but I need to!

Did anyone see that Cathe put together a STS cardio and STS rotation? I copied it to Word but haven't looked at it since.

Later fit babes!

Rhea - I always find you amusing and witty so don't run away on my account ;)!

Tracy - Wow - that's one heck of a phone call ! Believe me, I was shocked I liked it! I'll have to try 30/30 again and see if I like it better than the first time. The pyramid one scares me, though! I saw the rotation and downloaded it too but haven't paid anymore attention to it either. I'm pretty much doing the original rotation (before the cardio) where I'm subbing walking for 2 of the cardios when I can and then doing one of the new STS cardios. That work reallys well for me - and more importantly - my hips . I also don't do all the ab work she calls for because that irritates my hernia. It's not pretty getting old, I tell ya :p!

Melinda - You out there ???

Didn't Melinda have to go out on business again?

Okay, I did CCC this morning. OMG, are you kidding? I tried one of those "roll" core exercises and I think I bruised my back where my HR monitor strap buckle was....I guess I shouldn't wear a HR monitor if I have to roll on my back, huh? I probably will do this one every once in a while, but I really did not like the core exercises. Heck, I hadn't even finished rolling before they were back up on their feet!!:p Plus, I think that every high intensity, high impact exercise that I detest was in that workout. Well, it could have been the hour and lack of coffee too......:D:eek::cool: But I did burn about 330 in that short amount of time. So I probably will force myself to do it.

Rhea - I think you're right. I just can't keep all of her trips straight  . Hmmm - those rolls definitely are a bite . I haven't done CCC yet but I know the rolls in MMA: Fusion are a pain. Oh boy - is CCC higher impact than HiiT? How is it for choreography? If I remember right, Melinda didn't like it either, but I'm going to have to go look at the last thread to see for sure.

Lita - No choreography whatsoever, more of those fitness type drills. You do a series of three exercises and then repeat. For example, if I can remember....cripes....I'm actually sitting here drawing a blank...Air jacks, jump over the mat, run around the mat, double hops, high knees, sumo squats, mountain climbers, 180s (touch the floor, jump around, touch) high kicks, "t" jumps, "ski" jumps, etc. I was going to try and remember three that were done together, but that was way too much for my brain. Oh, I just remembered a particularly nasty one....hop forward three times, then jump thrust? Hmm, maybe I made that one up? I don't know how you got back!!! Ok, I quit.

The good news is, there is only five circuits.:D:)

Hi babes! I was the one who complained that CCC seemed like continuous IMAX 3 blasts! :p I will modify that one alot so I don't get the dread factor. It's all floor work, no step. I admire you for doing that one sans coffee Rhea!

I plan to modify 30/30 and 40/20 (haven't done that one yet though). My friend I spoke with for hours the other night said the pyramid HIIT was her favorite of the 3. And she modifies where needed too. I haven't done that one yet either!

Lita, I'm really happy you have found a way to work STS and keep your hip safe too, yippee! I finished disc 18 today, I can't believe I'm halfway through already!

So, I'm batting a thousand this week! I fell off my step the other day onto my butt and when I did deadlifts yesterday, I had 5 lbs more in one hand and didn't even know it! :p Today I hit myself in the tooth with a spoon. I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow!

Later babes!

Rhea - I must say it does NOT sound like fun! And you did it without coffee ??????? Wow! I can't even breathe in the morning without coffee !

Tracy - OMW, girl, you'd better quit while you're ahead and before you do serious harm to yourself :p! I knew you said CCC was tough and I looked back & Melinda was not thrilled with it either because of all the impact plus the rolling moves. I don't know if that means I'll put it on the back burner or do it and get it over with before the dread factor settles in .

Well, I had some sips, but I got way too warm to sip coffee during the actual workout.

No workout this morning, to bed way too late last night to get out this morning. So I'll have an early lunch here and run home and pump out Disc 18. I was going to try to add some cardio, it will depend on how much I really have to get done at work today. Which may be not much since I've already managed to procrastinate a couple of hours...hehe

I'm off to Carson city tomorrow, but I'll be back. Monday is actually a holiday for me. How about y'all?

Have a great and safe trip, Rhea! I don't know about anyone else, but those of us in the private sector don't tend to get the Federal holidays off . I know you and Tracy will be off - I don't know about Melinda. I will be here though should anyone want to come visit :p!

I will try to have fun shopping for lumber and crude like that...whoo hoo.

BTW, have any of you checked out the 'tards on the Step N Motion video? Cracks me up, did we really wear those? The little white shorts too. lol:eek:

Rhea - Your quest for enjoyment never ceases to amaze me, lol :p ;)!!! That's one good thing about not wearing true exercise clothes ... I can honestly say I never wore those things :D! Truthfully, it bugs me to watch the ones where they had the "flossers" on because I get stuck wondering how they could stand wearing wedgies for a whole workout and get sidetracked from what I'm supposed to be doing ....

Wow, we were really buried.

Yeah, I just have such fun huh? We did end up getting our front door. You know the kind with the fancy glass in the middle and the matching glass thingies on the side? We got a total steal. They normally run for about 3500 and up. We got for 1000. hehe Front doors can be expensive, but that's a deal! The money I saved on my front door can now be used for my granite counter tops in the kitchen.

Well, hope you are all behaving. Talk to you later.

Wow - that's awesome, Rhea :D!!!! That IS quite a deal on that door ! I need a new front door too but haven't found anything I can afford - especially since it's an over-sized door. But how exciting to get the door AND new counter tops!!!! I can't even imagine all those new things - but I live in a Clampett house - and I don't mean the one they had in Beverly Hills, either, lol  :p!
