Low Carbers & Friends - April to ?, 2013

Hi babes! Quiet week. :)

Lita, I may take a look at the XT/LI rotation now that I got a bigger fan for my workout room at work. It was pretty miserable with the tiny one I had before. Plus it made quite a racket every time I turned it on! :p

We've had beautiful weather this week! It even got a little warm for BB--he laid on the floor of my car with the a/c blasting on him after our run yesterday!

Have been sleeping a little better, loving that!

Did mostly Tracie Long workouts this week, her newer ones. I love how she does stretches and short cooldowns when needed!

Hope to see you again soon babes!

Well, after reading my last post, it's been 2 weeks since I've been here. April has just been a tough month, but I am happy to announce that Tuesday I will take my final and can breathe a sign of relief :)

Tracy, I have chronic sleeping problems. I have tried a couple meds but hate the side effects. My son says try valerium root, I tried it just a couple times, can't tell you if it helped, though. Didn't pay that much attention.

Lita, I finished the XT 90 day undulating rotation, but am still just doing the workouts. I really like this series and couldn't give it up. Now I am just randomly picking the workouts.

Rhea, shoveling is tough. DH is trying to dig out lava rocks he put down without a barrier and has now sunk in the ground. I told him just to buy more and put it on top, but he doesn't want to. He is a maniac.

Have a good week everyone!

Melinda - Fingers crossed for that final! I know you'll do just fine as you always do ! Hopefully May will be a much nicer month to you :)! I agree - XT is definitely a keeper :D!

Tracy - Glad you're getting a bit more sleep :D! Shoot - even I needed a fan doing LI Athletic Training today ! Man - I forgot what a killer that workout is !

Rhea - Hope you're still feeling better! Miss you and hope you get to come see us soon :)!

I'm hanging around here, just haven't had a lot to say since I'm so boring and haven't even worked out....yet. Played some golf yesterday, aerobic house cleaning and that's about it! Hopefully this evening will cooperate and let me have some time to workout and get a few holes of golf in. Back is a little stiff from that rotation type of movement from the golf.

Glad to see everyone up and about, busy but healthy. BTW it has been warm here too. I probably will have to dig out the fan for this evening's workout.

Rhea - I would NEVER think you boring !!!! Glad you're getting a little golf in :). Hopefully that's a good sign of the season to come ! I had my fan going yesterday and today - but by Weds we're to have snow again ;).

Snow......NOOOOOOOO!!! I deem that there is no more snow for at least seven months. That's it. I've spoken. LOL

I'll be sure and tell the weather gods you said that :p! Actually, we need the snow (although I'd prefer rain ;) ) so how 'bout if we just try to keep it away from you :D?

Oh, Okay, you can have all the snow you want! We've been so nice and warm that the thought of snow is just....well...yucky. ;p

Lita, I know you don't mind the snow, but yuck! Today is beautiful, going to be 80 and not a cloud in the sky. One of those rare days in Ohio.

My class is over!!! I get the summer off, so happy about that.

We're going bike riding tonight, excited about that. Trying to catch up on stuff around the house and getting ready for my son's high school graduation and college stuff.

Yeah Melinda!!! Summer is here for you....even the weather is cooperating. We have cooled off considerably, but no snow in the forecast, just milder, more normal mountain temperatures for May.

I actually did a weight workout yesterday, along with a treadclimber session. I did the XTrain bis and tris, but stopped about 3/4 so that I would be able to lift my arms today. So far, not that sore, so maybe I could have done the whole thing.

Not sure what is in store for this afternoon....

Melinda - Happy summer ! It's easy for me not to mind the snow when we've had less than 6" total all winter ;). Here in the desert the moisture is far and few in between....

Rhea - Glad you survived jumping back into the swing of things! Please don't push too hard yet ... Kinda ease your way back into it :).

OK, Lita, I believe you about the snow and moisture. Of course, I'm on the opposite end with the humidity. This week has been beautiful with the weather.

I've had the past 3 days off and kind of feel lost. It is weird to go, go, go, then STOP! Working out of town next week, so that will keep me busy.

Have done the trisets for upper body and lower body this week from the Low Impact series. My head's been in the XT series so long, I need to take a look at other workout I've got.

Tomorrow morning is CPR class. I sure know how to have fun on the weekend.

Everyone, enjoy your time off :)

Hi babes! I don't know what happened, but time sure flew after I last posted!

Melinda, I am so happy for you to get the summer off! And that's really exciting about DS! Congratulations to him!! I don't think I would know what to do with myself if all of a sudden I didn't have keep getting the house in order--I imagine it will will feel pretty strange. And no, it's not done yet. DH keeps bring more stuff home from the storage unit so we can get rid of it. So we have to deal with that rather than what's already in the house that's not organized. I think I have as much fun as you do! :p

Lita, did you get some of that record snow last week that I heard about? I hope you got a little of it anyway! I always need a fan with Athletic Training, it's almost as bad as After Burn!

Oooh, golfing season is upon us!! We had really warm weather for us this weekend--mid 80s--and the golfers were out in force. So was everyone else catching some rays! Glad you got to golf Rhea and hope your nice weather holds up. It's 6:25 pm my time and our a/c is running. It's very rare to need it in May but I am sooooooo happy we have it!

I started the 90 undulating rotation last week. I've done those workouts so many times already that I'm afraid I might get bored but I'm not yet. :) If boredom sets in I may switch to the XT-LI rotation. I'm still modifying with the shoulder but it's slowly getting better. I did a couple of slow push ups today--yippee!

Here's to a healthy week with good weather for everyone!

Tracy - So glad you could pop in ! Don't fret about the house - you have many years to get it all where it needs to be ;). Not that you want to live with it unsettled that long, but.... No, we just got a dusting of snow from that storm. We actually had rain this past Saturday ! FWIW, when I find myself bored with a workout (mostly the cardios), I have no problem switching. In the XT/LI rotation, there is no Hard Strikes so I pop that in now and again and I might pull out MMA: B soon, too. I like these workouts way too much to want to get bored and fed up with any of them :).

Okay, now for the complete confession....not really...lol. I did get back up on the workout horse and I did go sort of easily. If you call being easy dumb and forgetting why I called Leaner Legs, Meaner Legs. I remember now. So I did some treadclimber last week, an old Christi Taylor step. Then Sat I decided that I would do the XTrain Express. So I did Leaner Legs, did not do all of it, gave up the weight towards the end when I determined that walking, sitting and etc, would be a necessary thing on Sunday. I still have lactic acid. So I was wiser yesterday and did just the back workout with a 45 minutes of the treadclimber. Today will be Chest, I think...then either the treadclimber or some zumba. I scheduled in the May rotation starting next Monday. Looks sort of fun. The next challenge doesn't start until June 6th, so I'm prepping!

Well, have a great rest of the day. I've got lots of court this week since my senior deputy has trial. At least I can't get into any trouble, right? :)

Ah shucks, Rhea - here I was all geared up for some juicy news :p! I'm glad you figured out to take XTrain Express in sets rather than killing yourself ! As for trouble - sometimes it finds us, we don't have to go looking for it ;). I'll keep my fingers crossed that you and trouble never meet, though :D!

Lita, glad to hear you got some rain. Does that give you enough to bring the area to where it should be for the year?

Tracy, I agree with Lita, you will have plenty of time to get the house in order. Sounds like you're on a marathon with organization. I have put all that off and now am trying to get myself back to clearing things out of the house and cleaning. It is amazing how one piece of paper each day can make a mountain over time! Well, it's not that bad here, but still I have a lot of work.

Rhea, so are you feeling better, no more bug or whatever you had?

Have a good weekend everyone. Hope you all can enjoy the great outdoors for part of it, anyways!

Melinda - It IS amazing how little things can stack up in no time ! We are still in slight drought conditions but not nearly as bad as the areas around us. I think the mountains around us got their usual moisture so we should have enough run off for the reservoir this summer :).
