Low Carbers & Friends - April to ?, 2013

Wow, everyone has been so quite lately. What are y'all up too? Me, no good as usual. hehe.
 
Hey, Rhea :D! I'm just hanging out waiting for you busy ladies to post ;). Anything fun planned for the weekend :)?
 
Nothing fun for this weekend. I'm going to start the May rotation from Cathe, just a prep for the summer BFFM contest which starts up June 6th. I'm determined to stay healthy and drop that fat weight! :) How about you?
 
Nah - just the usual chores & yard work. Hopefully I can squeeze in some baking, too. I am addicted to low-carb brownies :eek: and need to get more in the freezer before we get too hot to bake :p.
 
Hmm, low carb brownies, nope, can't have those in the house. I would still eat too many. lol :p
 
I will admit, they're mighty tempting! But I'm pretty OD'd on the muffins, so ... That's my story and I'm sticking to it :p!

Hi Everyone,

We got a cold front moving through, so very chilly out. Getting ready in one week for my son's graduation. We have the party at our house next Sat, so have lots to do to get the yard in order. Hoping it will warm up next week.

I have still been doing XT workouts mostly, just not following a rotation. Oh, and big news, I stopped drinking coffee. I was getting so full of anxiety all the time, even with school out. My friend said she stopped drinking it and it helped a lot. So far, so good. I am drinking tea. I think it is more about what is in coffee, not just the caffeine. I am not drinking decaf tea or anything like that. I will see how I feel by the end of the summer, so far it's been almost 2 weeks. It's a bummer, but I was feeling awful and something had to change.

So work is slow this summer, at least in June. I have signed up to volunteer at a low income clinic a few miles from me. I will be working one day with the nursing staff and one day with the dietitian. I wish I could be working, but this is the way per diem work goes and over all, I am happy to be doing something different. It should just be for the summer, but if it goes well, maybe I'll still keep volunteering or one day get hired on if they like me. We shall see what happens.

Melinda - Hope you continue getting good results from the tea drinking :). I get the anxiety thing going when I push my limit on carbs - but that's most likely just because I've controlled them for so long ;). I do know that too much coffee raises my blood sugar (go figure!) but again, that's not "normal" - but then neither am I :p! What a great idea to do the volunteering :cool:! I hope you really like it - and it turns into a job for you :D!

Tracy and Rhea - How are you doing :)? Hope to "see" you both soon!
 
Doing just great Lita! Been super busy after the holiday with work (deputy on vacay) and getting ready for the next Burn the fat summer challenge. Having way too much fun with a mega team. Can't hardly keep up with them on the posts. I know that it will slow down once we actually start the challenge. I think the start for my team is the 9th. Still have lots of planning to do....like meal plans, carb/pro/fat ratios, etc.

I'll be back as soon as I can with more exciting information.....(that was being sarcastic btw, nothing exciting going on in my life right now :) )
 
Well of course it's all exciting, Rhea :D! Okay - not the work part ;).... But please do keep me posted - you know I love keeping up with how these challenges are going for you :cool:!
