Low Carbers and Friends - January 2011

Oh Rhea - I love the design of the outside!!!!! (FWIW, anyway :p ;) ) How exciting to finally see the insulation going in, too !!!!

Rhea, I LOVE it!!!! Wow, that is going to be so nice. When is the projected finish date?

Lita, if I have to do any health screenings out in the winter in the middle of nowhere, I'm taking my husband's hunting suit. They are so warm, even if you didn't hunt, it is good to keep in the car in case of emergencies, great survival wear.

Tracy, that sounds fun with BB's puppy class. And it's good for him to get nice and warn out. I know someone who had a very "active" young lab. They took her on very fast bike rides, they peddled and the dog ran. That wore her out nice and good so she was calm in the evening.

I know I want to get started on GS, but don't feel like it today. Will have to go see what looks good.

No projected finish date since we are already about a month behind because of that nasty snow. But for some reason it has been in the 50s here and is supposed to continue throughout the week. The house is even further on the outside since they got up all the wire/lath for the rock on the bottom. Dry wall is going in this week. DH and I will be able to start painting soon. Oh joy, painting...at least the first part gets to be sprayed.

Melinda - The way you travel, that's a great idea! I am so fortunate that - knock wood - I don't have to travel. Should I have to travel in the future, I may just have to invest in one!

Rhea - Please keep posting the pictures! It's so great to see the progress as it happens !

Rhea, good luck when you start to paint. I don't care for doing it, but love how it looks afterwards.

Today I did Step Moves, or whatever that 44 min cardio workout is from the next to the last series that was sent out. I am getting confused!

So guess what I got myself into now! I got contacted by a market research company, answered some questions, and now tonight I'm in a focus group. We are watching the President's speech tonight on tv then have to do a group discussion. Kind of interesting to do, but will be done at 11pm. I told them I'd be tired toward the end and not sure how interactive I will be at that time of night. why do I do things like this? UGH!

Melinda - You do seem to get yourself into some situations :p! Hopefully it will be stimulating enough to keep you awake - but not overly stimulating so you can't sleep afterward ;).

I am so stressed out! Did some pilates, feel a bit better. I can't put my finger on what my problem is, but I think it's work.

My youngest son is 16 today and going to try to get his driver's license. Will let you all know if he passes. Plus class tonight. We're going to have to have cake tomorrow, I will get home too late to eat cake. (maybe it is knowing my son is getting older that is stressing me?)

the focus group wasn't too bad. Just watched the state of the union thing on tv and had to hit an agree/disagree electronic pad while watching it. There was 25pp there. Then had to do the same thing for the Republican response and got to go home with the money!

UGH, I am so tense, I feel like crying!!! :(

Hi babes!

I echo Lita's hugs to you Melinda!!! I hope you are feeling better!!!! I'm glad the focus group went well. I imagine your youngest getting his driver's license is not on;y a big step for him, but you too!!

Rhea, your house looks awesome!!! Thank you for sharing your photos and keep them coming when you can! I don't mind painting, especially if I can be messy with it! :D I hope things are better for you at work! We are about 50 degrees here too, I'm enjoying it while it lasts!

Lita, I haven't tried STS TB but LBB yesterday was tough! No real DOMS today though which surprised me. Yippee!

We work with BB every night on 3 little commands and sometimes it goes well, but most of the time it doesn't and I just giggle. :)

No workout tonight--DH needed a night out so I kept BB busy. Makes me a bit grumpy though when I don't get to work out and DH doesn't come across as supportive of my endeavors to do so. Grrr....

Have a great rest of your week babes!

Thanks for the support everyone. I am feeling better this a.m. DS is at the drivers agency this a.m. with DH. I am not as with it as I guess I should be. He got there yesterday and needed an appointment so they wouldn't let him take the test. So he got one for 8:30 today. In about an hour I'll know if he passed. We are doing the cake thing with him tonight.

Tracy, good luck with the training. I had a dog that was so easy to train when I was growing up. He just wanted to please me, was very attentive. But I had a dog about 10 years ago that was very dominant and it was a real struggle to train him.

maybe I'll try the STS total body workout today. That sounds good

Tracy - Now that DH got his time, hopefully he'll reciprocate so you can get your time :). Don't worry - I'm sure with time and practice BB will become a pro at those commands .

Melinda - I am so glad you're feeling better today :D! Hopefully DS will do well on his test. Actually, I think since it's his license and his test, he should have been more with it, not you ;).

Rhea - How goes the battle :)????

Lita, you are correct, it is DS's responsibility to know this stuff about getting his license. He did, by the way get it. So today he went to take the van (yes, that is what we let him drive because it is a 1996) and the battery was dead. So he rode the bus to school. Wow, this is some kick off to driving. But I just think, maybe he avoided some accident or whatever, so it's no big deal (to me :) )

Today I got out the MMA:fusion and the first 15 min thought it was great. THEN they did the second section and I basically stopped the dvd after a few minutes. It is rediculous, that's all I have to say. I tried to modify at first, but then it was just not worth doing. I suppose I could have looked to see if there was another section, but I didn't want to mess around with it, so I then pulled out Athletic Step and did that.

Have a good weekend everyone. Wall climbing tomorrow.

Melinda - I'm so glad he passed that test ! Just figures the battery was dead, though :p. Oh well - there will be a lot of opportunities in the future, I'm sure :p. Not that I expect him to think it's no biggie, though ;)... ROTFL - I did the same exact thing with MMA:F last week!!!! So that one and MMA:KB are history now. I really enjoyed the first 2 sections of MMA:KB but just can't get over how she ruined it (IMHO) with that awkward, definitely non-aerobic 3rd segment .

Lita, I don't really know if I did the MMA: KB yet, if I did I don't remember anything about it. Did you try the fusion one? I think maybe I should just bring the dvd up to watch and see what's all there.

Wall climbing today. We have 1 week left. It was busy there, I got pooped! Good workout, though.
