Love my Ader Kettlebell

I recall someone searching for a smooth handled kettlebell. I ordered a 6 kg (please don't laugh ladies, I am a kettlebell newbie) and the handles are smoother than my go fit kb's and another I purchased at a high end fitness store. No grainy texture or rough parts but not slippery either. The bottom/base is ample so that holding is comfortable & secure for doing high pull catch & squats. It was pricey, $39.95 + 20.00 for shipping but I am so pleased with it. I used it yesterday and I could feel a difference. Handle is nice and wide for two arm swings.

Very kewl.

I have a gofit kettlebell and I just take my tennis overwrap grips (wilson H2O) and wrap the grip. Gives it a soft and moisture absorbing grip.

I got my first Ader the other day, and I really like it as well.
I also like my GoFit bells, but I really like the fact that the 30# Ader is smaller than the 25# GoFit.

Booboo, I forgot to ask: are you still thinking of taking a class with Lauren? If you don't want to do the drive up to Encinitas, I completely forgot to let you know that Sarah Lurie's KB gym (Iron Core) is in Pacific Beach, which would be much closer to you. Here's the info on her gym:

She's the one who does the demo on the Go Fit DVD and who has the KB workouts that they sell at Target. I've heard very good things about Iron Core! :)

Leanne,
the drive to Encinitas was the deal breaker. I do have her DVD and am quite happy with it. I have both of the SL DVD's and like those also. I don't think I will be going to PB either for a class. One, I can't deal with the horrendous traffic there and even PB is still too far (I don't like to drive more than 15-20 mins anywhere!). Since I have Mahler's DVD and have watched it several times I am pretty confident that I am using good form. His DVD has the best instruction I have ever come across. I can do a clean & rack and not ever bang my wrist! However I was at a shoe cobbler on Clairemont Mesa Blvd off of the 5 and across the street was a large sign that read "Russian Kettlebell Academy." I am very intrigued. I will have to investigate further. Are you by chance familiar with this place or know/heard anything about it?

Hi Booboo,

No, I haven't seen the place in Clairemont or heard anything about it! If you investigate it, let me know what you find out. Yeah, I know what you mean about dealing with traffic! I still have to look into that Mahler DVD you had mentioned; it sounds really good!
:)

That's great to hear! Booboo and Kathryn, where did you order your Aders from?

I ordered mine through a vendor at Amazon.com .
The total of the bell plus shipping was less than the "free shippping" price of the bell on Ader's site.

Wow, sounds like you got a great deal!. I purchased mine directly from Ader website and it was pricey. I need another one & thanks to your info I will be going through Amazon. Don't know why I didn't think of going there first!

I love my aders too. I figured I'll have them forever so why not invest in ones that are the favs in general. I got mine from usakettlebells. He had a sale going and the s/h was way more reasonable than other sites I tried. (other sites were like twice as much for multiple bells) I got them all quick too! The handles are very smooth and they are comfortable to hold. If I was on a budget though I'd go with gofits.. I tried those first. I do prefer the aders though and it really isn't THAT much more if you get them on sale and get a good s/h rate.

Wow, thank you for the tip. I just went to USA kettlebells and their shipping is sooooo low! I purchased a 15# & 18# and their advanced dvd and shipping was $17.00!!! WTH is up with Kettlebell Inc as my measley (sp?) 13# was $20.00 for shipping???!!! Maybe because they are in Texas and I am in California. I will return my Go fit 15# that I purchased at Target earlier today. Target prices are not that great, $45.00 for a 15#, versus $25.90 for the Ader which IMHO is superior in comfort & quality. Again thank you so much for the tip!!!
