Looking for Super-Hex Dumbbells

Miss Lee

Cathlete
Does anybody know where I can get Super-Hex Dumbbells -- the ones with the ergonomic handles? Power Systems supposedly carries them but they've been out of stock for several months. They said they will have them again but they don't when and it could be several more months:-(

I've only seen them on one other website -- MuscleMaxx -- and I'm not familiar with them at all. Have any of you ever ordered from them? Would you recommend them?

TIA :)

ETA that after further investigation, this MuscleMaxx place seems to be associated in some way with another website called ShapeUpShop.com (http://www.shapeupshop.com/fitness/bars/index.html). Is this a reputable site? TIA again :p :)

Michele~I am pretty sure that our Dick's carries them. (I saw them the other day.) BUT, they have the rubber coating to prevent damage to floors. I picked one up and tried a bicep. :7 It felt really good. I wish I could afford to get a whole new set of these but can't justify it since we have almost two whole sets of dumbbells in the original metal form. Good Luck!

Prevent chipping
Protect floors and equipment
These Rubber Octagonal Dumbbells have cast metal dumbbell heads encased with a thick rubber coating. Solid steel knurled ergonomic handle with zinc coating. Raised numbers for easy identification

I found this picture on your Power Systems site and I am almost positive they are the SAME DB's I saw at Dick's! (I couldn't find them online at Dick's though???)

RE: Here's a pic...

Hi Debbie!!

Thanks so much for taking time to reply. I should have specified that I'm looking for the cast iron super-hex. I have a few sets of the rubber coated and I love them, but I need dumbbells I can use with my PlateMates. I wish Dick's carried the plain cast iron x(. I love the ergonomic handles -- they're so much more comfortable to hold than regular dumbbells.

RE: Here's a pic...

Michele, I meant to say in the above post that they MIGHT have the ones without the rubber coating. I just happen to be walking by that area and saw the rubber coated ones on a stand and gave them a whirl. You might want to call your Dick's and see. BTW, I love my PlateMates. I wonder if POSSIBLY the PlateMates could pick up the magnetism thru the rubber??? Just an idea. Let me know what you find
out.

Catherine, I've only seen the cast iron super-hex online but I'm not familiar with the websites that carry them. I'm a little worried about the cost of shipping, too. ;(

RE: Here's a pic...

Debbie, no, the plate mates don't work with the rubber coated dumbbells -- I already tried ;) :7 . I've looked at Dick's, both online and locally, and they don't have them. That's where I got my rubber capped DB's.

Thank you Debbie -- you're so resourceful! I guess that's a good quality to have when you're an enabler of such renown :p :p :p :7
