Looking for good Yoga

Hi Everyone!

I want to start incorporating some Yoga into my daily routine but I don't have any idea where to start. I would like to find some good DVD's for a beginner that will give me a foundation so I can try intermediate/ advanced or power yoga and get a really good workout. Do any of you have any recommendations? I've looked around at some but since I am a Yoga novice, I don't really know even what to look for.
Thanks for your help!

Nicole :)

Based on information I got on this forum, I have been using Baptiste and Eionn Finn.
Finn "Yoga for Happoiness" is a versitaile DVD. It has some chaptering and different length yoga sessions.
Baptiste is great too. I had the oppurtunity to visit a Baptise studio in Boston and take a class. It was amazingly helpful. It you can take a class in your area I strongly recommend it. Try doing a web searh for yoga studio's in your area. If you find a Baptiste studio go for it! In fact try the Baptiste web site. After you have had some good live classes, you can find a DVD you like and put in in your rotation.

Best of luck to you. Let us know what you learn.

Thanks Judy!

I was thinking taking a class would be the best way to learn. I've heard it can be hard to master the moves without a live person to correct you. I'm going to start looking around for classes.

Thanks again

I, too, just started doing Yoga last summer--after some surgery I had. I can't believe I waited so long!!!!!!!!! It makes such a huge difference in how I feel and has really helped with weight loss. It's the perfect compliment to Cathe workouts.

I got some terrific ideas on this forum. I haven't tried Baron Baptiste, but I LOVE Bryan Kest's Power Yoga series (Energize, Tone, Sweat). I just worked up to Tone, and I haven't even tried Sweat yet. Eoin Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness is absolutely wonderful!!! It's truly for all levels. I purchased it because Susan said the hip openers were wonderful--and that is what I really need. You can't go wrong with this one.

Good luck, and you won't be sorry for starting Yoga. I was positive it wasn't for me, and wouldn't even try it for a long time. I got into Pilates a couple of years ago, but I truly prefer Yoga.

Keep us posted,
