<--told him the story (again) about how Melissa called her DH The Big Swede because he's Swedish and Shelley said "Swede" in England is a turnip and Robin said maybe all DHs are turnips.....
<--cannot, however, explain how ONLY <--'s DH wound up being a DT ;)

<--- 's BIL and SIL were here with their 2 sons, one of whom is autistic (NOT high functioning)

My BIL's family came into town Wednesday night, spent one night, then left their children in the care of my 79 year old MIL and FIL while they relax at the family lakeside cottage. You may remember that in the past year my MIL had surgery and a heart attack, and my FIL needs assistance to complete activities of daily living -- he can barely walk.

So my DH called his parents this morning and of course, they're having a hard time with the autistic child -- I guess he tried to kick my FIL, and they can't get him to eat, and he's been having tantrums. Now we have to go over there. I don't mind helping out but I wish that my BIL would realize that his elderly parents are not up to caring for a BIG, 11 year old boy with autism. By the way, my IL's agreed to watch the kids even though they really didn't want to -- they just didn't want to disappoint their son. This has happened before and we always have to give up our own plans to bail them out. On a brighter note, at least I don't have to go to that damn class reunion tonight.
