I just want you to know I've been thinking of you and praying for you, your babies, DH, and entire family. Please don't feel pushed to post, just know we care and are here for you!

Take care and God bless!

Autumn

Thanks Autumn! I've been thinking about Lindzebird & her family as well. I'm keeping them in my prayers too.

First of all I wanted to thank all of you for your thoughts, concern, and especially your prayers. We are still hoping for some good news, and I was going to wait to post until we heard more. To sum up, my husband is attending medical school, which doesn’t offer health coverage for spouses/children and therefore necessitating our use of Medicaid. We applied for approval about two weeks ago, and found out on Friday that they refuse to cover the only surgery that will give our healthy baby a chance at survival. My doctor and various other doctors have appealed and Medicaid has been unbending with their decision. Needless to say, Friday was an extremely hard day. After the weekend, we were prepared to begin our own appeal and fight the decision, and I sat down to start the phone calls when the woman who is helping our doctor with the case called and said that she has spoken with the doctor who will performing the procedure, and they may be able to do something. She told me to hang on before beginning any work on an appeal until we are able to hear something from this hospital. I know the Lord is supporting us, and I am so grateful for all the prayers that have been offered in behalf of ourselves and our daughters. Thank you all again, and I hope to keep you posted with good information as the weeks go by.

I just want to cry!!!! I hope and pray the doctor who will be performing the procedure can do something. You live here in MO and it makes me so upset that you are already dealing with the unimaginable but then to have to go through the run around with Medicaid. I want to write a letter! You take care and post when you are ready. Hugs to you!

Thank you very much Autumn. We talked to the woman helping me at my Dr's office again this morning, and they are requesting another ultrasound...including measuring my cervical length to make sure I can fly. I hope that's a good sign.

I continue to keep you and your family in my prayers. I am so so sorry that you are going through this. It breaks my heart. I wish that there was some way that I could help you. It makes me so angry with doctor's and insurance companies. It is all about money. I hope that the woman who is helping you out can work things out for you.

{{BIG HUGS}} to you.

Hey my husband is in med school too! What school is your husband at? My DH is a 2nd year - yippee getting to the half way point! That stinks that his school doesn't offer health coverage for the family. We are on my DH's policy at school, it isn't cheap but is definatly more cost effective than Cobra type plans. I know several couples in DH's class who didn't want to take the extra loans for the health care and went the Medicaid way as well. Boy you are at a rough place for sure, feel free to pm me - it's great to have support from someone who is in your position. I pray the Lord is giving you the peace that passes all of our understanding. One of my favorite verses is Job 42:2 it is quite comforting when the road seems so unsteady. I will praying your appeal goes straight through!!! HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

WAIT A MINUTE YOUR IN MISSOURI????? I live in Clayton and my husband is going to SLU are you at WASHU or Columbia??? I can't believe you are fighting this in town, oh man if I could help I would, anything... your definatley not forsaken and left alone... please pm me!

Hi Julie,

Wow, that made me smile, I can't believe how small the world is! My DH is a second year at WashU here in MO. I know several families that are attending SLU. WashU offers blue cross blue shield, but the plan is so expensive that we had to take Medicaid. I'm a SAHM with a two year old...so it was really our only choice. We've thought a little bit about taking Medicaid's denial of our procedure to the media, but we're not sure whether we want to go that way or not. Thank you for the scripture, I know the Lord is supporting us through this. It helps to have so many wonderful thoughts and prayers coming....even from those who I've never met.

I will be hoping that Medicaid comes thru and pays for anything necessary to help you and your babies. God bless you.

I e-mailed you. I think this is so ironic that we would be on this website and have so many similarities. I'd be so interested in who you know at SLU. I have a group of ladies that we have kept in touch regularly and meet up, it's so nice to have support. Would blue cross blue sheild have paid for your procedure? Please e-mail me, hate to think you are going through this!

Oh I hope it is a good sign!!! This may sound crazy, but if I can do anything... I am not that far away. I am sure you and your DH have lots of support, but count me as one more.

God bless!

Lindzebird:
I'm crying too, I had my baby 2 weeks ago and he almost die when I was giving birth. I can't imagine what you and your husband are going through. It's awful that the Medicaid is giving you a hardtime. But if we have faith we can even "move mountains", right? Let's continue praying and hope for God's hand to show us His power.
With love,
